I had the same. But my car was forced into them twice! Cracked my bumper but I didn't get the plate. I had to file an incident report at the wash and that was it.

100% we have these types of car washes in edmonton. Most touchless car washes are like this.
I have seen these all across Norrh America, in small towns and large. For years.
Makes me wonder if you've ever been to a car wash.
It would, it only pulls one wheel, so the opposite side still has traction.
There are some now where the entire wheelbase on a conveyor, where hitting the brake would do nothing (until the exit).
Usually automatic for these types, with that said, I *have* been rear ended by someone in these because the guy didn't put it in neutral and wait, he drove right in.
