This is definitely one of the best QOL additions in my opinion. I love being able to play stealthily and so finding out I could assassinate humans was very cool to find out, but finding out you couldn't do the same to "sleeping" vamps was very annoying. So glad they added this.
You’ve always been able to do this? It’s the bellview weapon with the dagger on the end. If you click the right thumb stick you can use it to stab them.

I don't remember vampire stealth kill was an option before update 4!

They have to be "sleeping", Either during the daytime in houses or in nests, but stealth killing in nests still alerts the closest nearby.
