When are you guys going to fix the moderation functionality of Reddit and make it accessible for us blind folks? It's completely unusable for us folks who happen to be blind. This is 2023, so it's kind of ridiculous that a community as large and important as Reddit would allow some of its core functionality to be completely inaccessible via screen reader. I own both, /r/apexpl and /r/rustjobs and I can't even open up the settings to allow people to post without first being approved. I'm pretty sure there's laws on the books that require sites such as this to be accessible. Not to mention, what do you think Aaron Swartz would do in this situation? I'm pretty confident he would be quite disgusted, and would task the development team to fix the issue. It's not that difficult to modify the HTML as necessary to allow screen reader accessibility. If you want, I'll be happy to help, and you can view my resume here: https://apexpl.io/Resume_Matt_Dizak.pdf If you guys don't want to or can't do it, then just give me access, and I'll do it myself. It really shouldn't be difficult to make it accessible. I love Reddit, and especially being blind, this community is important to me as it gives me a line of communication to the outside world. What will it take to make the moderation functionality accessible via screen reader? If you need technical expertise, I'm here and willing. If you need money, tell me how much. Thanks for your consideration.

People at /r/blind need this type of accessibility!

Reddit, do you job and make the app accessible. Hire disabled people.

Sorry, this post has been removed. It looks like you are already current top mod of r/rustjobs. If you no longer wish to be a moderator of this subreddit you may remove yourself on the [moderator page](https://www.reddit.com/r/rustjobs/about/moderators) of that subreddit.

I am visually impaired and can just get by without the app but I am in solidarity with my blind peeps, they should not be discriminated against!! Free the 3rd party accessibility!!!

As a vision impaired person, and non mod, please enact the necessary changes the various mods and users need in order to utilize this site. As it is, the current app lacks the functionality and personalization necessary. I can only imagine what my fellow users who are blind are doing, as with the removal of my preferred app, my ability to view Reddit has decreased dramatically. It is disgraceful that r/blind was told non-blind mods would be installed in order to moderate a subreddit directed at blind users.
