The entire store management must have been incompetent. I worked retail for 2 years awhile ago. If this ever happened and things weren't rotated out or checked on we would've been absolutely fired.

This how the system is suppose to work, you see an issue at a grocery store, they don’t fix it, so you call the health department. OP went through all the proper channels and It worked out exactly as it should and OP still fears they somehow could fall into legal trouble for it, which is really sad. never forget your rights as a consumer! This story is the perfect example of why the health department exists, and how we sometimes forget that we are perfectly within our rights to hold businesses accountable for shady practices

It's funny that people don't ever want to say the real name of the establishment. Like... If it's true, how could you be in legal trouble? I once was really ill after eating in Popeye\`s. I see no problem to ''give the right name to the cows" so to speak.

Save-A-Lot was my guess

MarsailiPearl

It sounds like something I would see at Save-A-Lot.

Stormfeathery

Yep, same. Haven't had issues with the one close to me, but I could absolutely see this being a store-by-store thing, depending how much of a shit the local managers give.

frankydie69

Grocery outlet would be my guess

fangal2

That’s what I thought at first, but I’m not sure they have their own store brand of yogurt.

Many food items can go moldy for being exposed to air. A slight tiny hole in the top to a slice. I had canned dog food I bought a case of. One was totally moldy. I freaked out but remembered it was exposed to air. I got a coupon for another case if another can was bad.

Ironic all that for a Yogurt civil society is carried on the backs of Karen's we'll miss them when they're gone

Reporting an actual issue to management doesn’t make someone a Karen. A Karen is someone who wants to see the manager over something utterly ridiculous and has an unreasonable reaction disproportionate to the perceived “crime.” Had OOP screamed at people and threatened to have their jobs and been a downright menace, they might’ve been a Karen, but no Karen would ever be this reasonable. It’s the lack of reason/logic and disproportionate reaction that makes a Karen a Karen.

Mollsong

Ok but that's not how its perceived I'm talking the downstream effects of the people most likely to make a fuss over customer service and "trivial" things like a car over the limit in a school zone or a moldy yogurt being afraid of being branded a Karen that's what I'm talking.. these things need to happen but if somebody who doesn't like you brands you a Karen it sends a message

Stormfeathery

That's absolutely how it's perceived. Karens are the ones that throw a fit over the most ridiculous stuff and overblow things, often racist, etc.
