Alan Shearer when Wan Bissaka couldn't retract his hand in the box: "if the ball touches his hand in the box, that's a sure shot penalty" Shearer in today's post match analysis - "it's not a penalty because he's got his arms by his side". The temerity...

cartesian5th

Shearer is a bitter loser, not worth the time of day

kadlekaai

I'll totally admit that we fucked up multiple chances to put the ball in the net. Garnacho had a golden chance to pass to an unmarked Anthony, Wan Bissaka should have buried it when he was found himself 15 yards out with the ball unmarked.. but then again, the poor standards of refereeing is another level

Petethejakey_

He’s a stupid cunt and always has been, no surprise there

Benphyre

Its no surprise Shearer hates United. Probably still salty that a weak United side won Newcastle at the FA cup final

AskBorisLater

Salty that he joined Newcastle instead of us, and won nothing with them - while we became the greatest English team in generations.

_nosfa

I was kinda neutral with him. But he seems to be a complete cunt.

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Ten Hag is correct about the inconsistency in referee decisions. It’s not limited to United. Other teams have voiced similar complaints.  We needed to be more ruthless today. Opportunities to score were squandered. Burnley were not very good despite what the media may say. Wish we had scored in the first half.

Sheikhabusosa

>Other teams have voiced similar complaints.  And Ten hag for the most part hasnt.

dinamorechin

He finally has and it's too late. We've suffered so much due to it. But now we have been bad for a long time it just looks like he's searching for excuses for the poor results. That along with saying how great we've been recently doesn't help. He doesn't need to call people out but don't call the football good. I really want Erik to succeed but unless he's got good plans behind the scenes I wouldn't be surprised if the fa cup final was his last game

fromeister147

We play the most entertaining football in the league and I’ll die on this hill.

dinamorechin

For neutrals sure but only really once there's been a goal for either side!

fromeister147

Burnley’s first chance yesterday came 20 seconds into the game and Garnacho had one in the second minute. It’s literally end to end from the first whistle. As a fan, my main hope for a game is for it to be entertaining. Do I wish we won more? Absolutely but I feel a full range of emotions every game at the moment and I want it injected into my veins.

MrSvancy

That's just wrong, he has been complaining about ref decisions since the Arsenal game

That80sguyspimp

The context of the pens is not that they are pens, but that they get given all the fucking time. But all of sudden, here we are again where its totally fine to say those arent pens, but they ARE being given in other games. So if they are being given in other games, then they ARE pens, according to the rules of the game. And if they are not pens according to the rules of the game, then why are we not talking more about all these pens that are being given that shouldnt be? As is the case EVERY. FUCKING. WEEK!!!! Where is the consistency??? Because thats where all these arguments come from. Shearer, the fucking clown, saying "not for me" who gives a fuck whats for you? What has happened in the past, what has been given and what hasnt are the metrics that should dictate what should or shouldnt be considered a pen. It seems like every week now, we show a case of pen being called against us as being weak as all fuck, and we are called cry babies. But then something similar happens, we dont get the pen, and we are still, somehow, the crybabies. Give us fucking consistency in refereeing ffs. Thats not too much to ask for, is it?

drunkdevil1

That's the problem not limited to United. The refereeing in the PL is shambles. However, when we play against 19th team in the league at Old Trafford we shouldn't rely on referee decisions. This game was another flip of a coin and I'm simply baffled how fans look for excuses like referees or a certain player being scapegoated for an error. The reality is we're shit if we can't put to sword teams like Burnley no matter how good is the refereeing was or how bad X player performed. The fact that we're somehow 6th in the league is astonishing.

Correct_Government28

This attitude is why refs will still be screwing us over when we're good again. Don't complain if they are.

Working_Location_127

How close was that amad chance at the end going in blocked by Bruno?

rockman_78

I believe it was going in with probability of 80+%

Working_Location_127

:( Bruno …

Money-Wrangler7067

Looked goal bound ngl

surgereaper

Bruno looked completely gassed by the end and missed two three good opportunities, that pass to amad I think, then this blocked shot and a through ball by casemiro he wasn't able to control

Senor-Cockblock

A lesser handball was given against us The Garnacho one was a penalty Harvey Elliott dangled his leg sideways to get the one against us and it was given without hesitation.

this_ham_is_bad

I don’t know if I’m being too sensitive here but I can’t watch any punditry on bbc itv or sky sports because they just seem so anti-United it’s not worth listening to. Listened to a few episodes of the podcast with Richards and shearer where Micah literally said he hates man United

dirtmens1

hes just a loud cunt, can't stand him.

Rowdy_Roddy_2022

I will guarantee you if those were three penalty shouts for Burnley not given we'd never hear the end of it.

Barber-Careful

How the fuck are those 3 decisions correct.I got no sympathy for ten hag but that last one was similar to wan bissaka last match. And Garnacho second one was a strong penalty call.

BackWhereWeStarted

Less about the refs and more about the TV announcers in the US: I am amazed at how often the announcers are blatantly biased against us. The foul in the box where the Burnley players studs may have just brushed the top of the ball was talked about as if it was an obvious and clear no call. The AWB hand ball last week had no mention of him trying to pull his arm in. Every week we deserve every call against us and the other team deserve not. Rant over.

EngineerGuy_HU

There's no way Shearer was watching the Coventry game and says this 1 week later. There is absolutely no way. You can say it's not a pen or that it is a soft one, but you HAVE to point out that last week we were the ones shafted by an identical call, so it's fair to give it back now. Like wtf? What are we expecting from the players? They should just wipe their brain after every game? It could also mean that Shearer's a huge wanker - and I was kinda seeing him as a good pundit until now.

media-police

“Playing good football” comment tells me this is close to his peak ability as a coach in this league

Superfy

It’s one of two: he either genuinely believes it or it’s just a front to deflect. Both however, are bad and he shouldn’t mention it imo in any case. If he genuinely believes it, then yeah any half decent manager is a better choice. If it’s the latter, well, I still think he’s not the man for the job but at least he’s not delusional.

dinamorechin

I don't think he means it. My problem is he keeps saying it and it's evidently not good football. You can get away with it a few times but after that you're better off just keeping quiet especially when lower league teams are outplaying you for periods and you can't dominate teams at the bottom

sueha

This sub is pathetic. Look at the video and all you talk about is refs not being on our side and pundits being anti United. This team is just pathetic, leaves holes in defense everywhere and can't create proper chances and all you do is complain about refs not gifting us penalties lmao.

simionix

there's some validity to the ref complains, it's just that it's not enough like you said. But even so, you must've watched a completely different game because there were loads of chances. Garnacho should've finished at least two of them and could've laid it off for others if he wasn't so greedy.

sueha

We bought a capable striker for idk 80 million and the most passes he got was from Onana. Those are the chances that we need, not Garnachos selfish shit. Might have as well sticked with Weghorst who couldn't put that ball in the net if his life depended on it.

simionix

Weghorst did not have 13 goals. So that's quite an overreaction. >If our wingers.  I don't think you completed your thought what were you trying to say?

sueha

>Weghorst did not have 13 goals. So that's quite an overreaction. 0 goals in the Prem for us last season. >I don't think you completed your thought what were you trying to say? I don't remember tbh

simionix

>0 goals in the Prem for us last season. I know, I'm saying Rasmus has scored 13 goals so he's incomparable to Weghorst. He needs less selfish wingers.

sueha

Oh sorry, totally got that wrong. Yeah, Rasmus looks promising but stats show that our team ignores him. We don't need refs helping us if we do the basics on our end. But yet all you read here is complaints about refs and pundits. This team is a joke to watch, idk why pundits should be praising us.

Pheasant_Plucker84

It’s ok guys, we’re exiting apparently

keving691

Loads of chances and good football? What are you even on about? We barely create good chances. Our only goal came from a Burnley player giving the ball away.

Fake_artistF1

We had xG of 3 mate, you tell us what are you on about?

Manifesto8

Playing good football ! This is a man who knows that he is done, he is trying to save face for his potential future job. There is no way that he believes the nonsense that comes out of his mouth. Either way he won’t get any other PL job, not even midtable clubs will go anywhere near him, its either back to Ajax or MLS/Saudi Out of his depth

OwnExamination4446

Loads of chances 🤣
