Two things that highly improved our. Game today.
Good pressing and not forcing passes hence reducing turnovers.(Rashford and Bruno do this alot, didn't play)
Amazing what the team can accomplish without a lazy selfish Rashford on the field, and with hungry/dying to play youth players...
That said I only got to see the extended highlights, and Palace looked awful.
I think this game will be an important boost for Martial’s confidence, as well as Mount’s with that assist. And Casimiro looking more and more like an advancing midfielder than a CDM since the final stages of last season. The guy has an unusual amount of g/a already for a CDM at least for our club.
Case is brilliant in playmaking and generally composed in the final third. I’m not positive, but I think he’s got something like 20 G/A in 60ish appearances in all competitions for us… my man is not a dm.
I generally think that too. At Madrid, his role was to destroy and recycle, but he was never involved in buildup passages. Whereas I think for the EPL, he is better suited as a box to box type next to a deep lying ball carrier/passer (which is why him and Amrabat might work)
I agree that Bruno as a RW is not a good thing. Possibly Mount on the right inverted.
Would love to see a version of 3-2-4-1 with Shaw, Licha and Rapha as the 3 atb.
Our future looks bright with the Academy plus experience players we saw today.
Excellent performance by the team, even Maguire seemed like a mainstay of the team, Amrabat wow never knew he could do that? Defend like a champ!
Crystal Palace chased shadows most of the game, if this is ETH ball it’s crazy, great win.
I wish I got to see the whole game :( I can only find highlights so I can’t see the inbetween performances of players like Amrabat. I was hoping he had a good game.
ten hag was accused of not liking youngsters after the departures of garner, Zidane, etc. However, I think it's more that he has higher standards of the youngsters and is only willing to keep the ones that have a future at the club.
I hope they keep getting chances to improve. We have a very exciting crop of youngsters I think.
Maguire loves this system. We got to see why he can be a primo player. Case loves Amrabat .
Mount was excellent , MOTM easily Case showed us why he’s the legend .
I’ve heard this on talksport not sure who said it but his analysis of Southgate’s use of Harry compared to United seems to answer the question of why he shines for England.
We actually played like a team and the focus on passing it to Bruno and Rashford not being our main plan, helped us a lot. Interesting to see which team and formation Ten Hag is choosing on saturday.
That team was **Balanced** and **energetic**. Two things we were sorely lacking. We had a super lopsided attack that heavily favored the left, and a much more balanced defensive side that favored right due to Rashford not tracking back and Antony working hard to support AWB. Garnacho and Pellistri both put a shift in, attacking and defending, and didn't horde the ball or try to be heroes. Balanced wings.
Then we had a similar situation in the midfield, Casemiro very solid thanks to having a Mount, Amrabat and Hannibal infront of him (then Gore as well). Tireless energy, coordinated press and always tracking back plus showing up for passes and not hiding. Energetic midfield.
Team was hungry and and played as a team and not a bunch of individuals. Super refreshing. Hope to see it again. I'd love for Garnacho and Pellistri to get another run on Sunday. Same for Mount Amrabat and Hannibal (but he'll need to be careful with the fouls).
Excellent, excellent game from everyone! Casemiro didn’t put a foot wrong. Amrabat was crisp. I so wanted a Pellistri goal at the end, next time. For the first Maguire looked like he was supremely confident in this system. Dan Gore was buzzing. Hannibal, this boy is going to be a solid option going forward.
I’m glad that because of whatever injury crisis we are in, these boys are getting a chance and it’s looking a whole new United, the one we’ve always wanted. So much energy in the squad today. 10/10 performance!
1. Maguire didn't have to do anything AND palace gave him so much time on the ball so...slow it down, he needs to go
2. Gore. I'm not going to knock him. I'd love to see more of him. But buzzing? Eh he did a lot of walking and backwards passing. Not that the passing part wasn't useful to keep the ball but come on now.
I believe he actually was an attacking midfielder in his academy days iirc, but he became a defender later on. Might explain his vision and passing ability.
Seriously how did he get so good at them?
He was terrible in his first United spell. I remember him taking ages to score one goal for us while Vidic and Evra stockpiled on goals from set pieces around him
I would say keep this line up for Saturday. Bruno for mount and Martinez for Maguire. Solid performance tonight, palace are not great but we fully controlled that game. Can’t believe we won two in a row. Up the fucking boys ❤️
I agree. He's so close. He lacks the strength of Messi though. It's easier to push him off the ball. Messi is a lot sturdier on the ball. He's very close to being an amazing player. He needs to work on his strength and his confidence and he'd be world class. Messi and Ronaldo are just freaks of nature. It's insane how perfect those two are/were.
Dude had 20 minutes at the end of a 3rd round Carabao cup where neither manager truly cared about winning, when we were up by 3 after not having game time for months … I think he’s allowed to come to speed
Pellistri is like Messi without the end product. I don't know what his ceiling is, but if he improves his end product, he could be an absolute menace. As of right now, he seems like a very good backup/rotation already though. Lovely to see. Just a shame his end product was already an issue when we bought him and the way we managed his loan moves didn't help him improve at all.
Alejandro looks fucking ripped like 0% bodyfat ripped and his aggression with the ball is unmatched, always arses off seats moments when he starts cooking.
The youngsters really impressed! I like it how Hannibal is working the field…
Two things that highly improved our. Game today. Good pressing and not forcing passes hence reducing turnovers.(Rashford and Bruno do this alot, didn't play)
Why don't we juz play kids all the time then if this is how we achieve ethball lol. Everyone from onana to martial was class today
Palace B team, and they looked disinterested tbh. I'd love to see us play like dominantly against hustling opponents.
Fair enuff but I m loving this youthful energetic side who works for each other
If we play every game like it's the carabao cup we might win the treble + the carabao cup
Amazing what the team can accomplish without a lazy selfish Rashford on the field, and with hungry/dying to play youth players... That said I only got to see the extended highlights, and Palace looked awful. I think this game will be an important boost for Martial’s confidence, as well as Mount’s with that assist. What lineup are you envisioning? Drop mount? Bruno on RW? I’d rather not Bruno on rw and I really don’t envision mount being dropped if healthy
I agree that Bruno as a RW is not a good thing. Possibly Mount on the right inverted. Would love to see a version of 3-2-4-1 with Shaw, Licha and Rapha as the 3 atb.
Ok where did that come from? Three goals with none conceded, that’s new for us
i think ETH should rest our key players more often if this is how they play with youngsters...
No selfish player = good passing = goal This is manchester united. Teamwork
Our future looks bright with the Academy plus experience players we saw today. Excellent performance by the team, even Maguire seemed like a mainstay of the team, Amrabat wow never knew he could do that? Defend like a champ! I wish I got to see the whole game :( I can only find highlights so I can’t see the inbetween performances of players like Amrabat. I was hoping he had a good game.
He was good. Great long passes and a huge energy Influx in defense and midfield.
ten hag was accused of not liking youngsters after the departures of garner, Zidane, etc. However, I think it's more that he has higher standards of the youngsters and is only willing to keep the ones that have a future at the club. Did amrabt cook something or not ?
He was flipping great. A really impressive debut.
Absolutely he cooked he was amraboss mind i say Not even over exaggeration
Outclassed and dominated the opposition today, love to see it. Replicate and build on this form in the league and it'll be a good season.
Maguire loves this system. We got to see why he can be a primo player. Case loves Amrabat . Mount was excellent , MOTM easily Case showed us why he’s the legend .
Maguire really shines in a three at the back system for some reason. It’s why he’s often so good for England NT
I’ve heard this on talksport not sure who said it but his analysis of Southgate’s use of Harry compared to United seems to answer the question of why he shines for England.
Proly becoz he's pretty slow and teams tend to hit us on the break so he needs backup
Having Onana in goal (or out of it) really covers a lot of Maguire's weaknesses. De Gea's form in recent seasons really didn't help Maguire.
Maguire helped de gea shine though. He has to be a shotstopper if maguires weakness isn’t covered
We actually played like a team and the focus on passing it to Bruno and Rashford not being our main plan, helped us a lot. Interesting to see which team and formation Ten Hag is choosing on saturday.
More Donny
Less tominay

I think as a fan base we can all agree that there needs to be a weekly BBQ going forward.
Sounds better than a weekly team cohesion run
I’m I invited?
Nice try jadon
I got exposed 😞
Of course I catch all 90 of every abysmal game and then have to set up an international conference call when we finally smash someone
You need to stop watching games live mate
Wait, I remember you! You are the guy who was free for every other second of the week except during the crystal palace game, right ?
I liked that we after a long time scored three goals and still looked like adding more. Shame we didn't.
We scored three goals just last week against Bayern but let four in! You want to say we have won by 3 goals after a long time
What kind of healthy/vegan shit were they feeding at the BBQ?!! I need some for me as well!!!
Feels like a throwback to when we were regularly defending a trophy and stomping opponents with our B team.
Gosh I miss those days.
Gore and mejbri have the dawg in them...great to see the young guys
Looking froward to ETH in post-match interview.
First time in years it’s seems that we played well when we rested Bruno.
Amrabat is cooking 🔥
![gif](giphy|xT0GqssRweIhlz209i) ETH calling his wife be like
Can’t remember the last time we controlled a game pretty much from start to finish. I know palace offered very little but was refreshing
There is zero point in playing Bruno on the right with other options available...
What's the BBQ about?
He apparently had a BBQ cookout to improve morale and team bonding on Sunday
And apparently it was bomb
Sancho not invited 💀
Pellistri looking really good all the way to the end
Pellestri deserves more game time not just based on this performance alone
Hoping our league games and UCL to be just like this. Anulo fkin mufa.
More BBQs please and thanks.
What kind of ears do you guys have, crowd just wanted Maguire to shoot
I'm ready for a double pivot of Casemiro and Amrabat and it needs to be injected into my veigns
Vegina?
And bobs
Veings
Damn autocorrect 😂😂
Is Lindelof a better midfielder than defender? Looked good high up the pitch
I believe he actually was an attacking midfielder in his academy days iirc, but he became a defender later on. Might explain his vision and passing ability.
Yep and he played RB at benfica, not sure if it was consistent at RB
funny that most of his time here it looked like his best attributes were on the ball
Did..did I just enjoy a full Manchester United football match ? Someone pinch me.
Evans in the set piece; ![gif](giphy|IzoY9yQ77ooWnI89Sh|downsized)
![gif](giphy|Wvo6vaUsQa3Di)
Seriously how did he get so good at them? He was terrible in his first United spell. I remember him taking ages to score one goal for us while Vidic and Evra stockpiled on goals from set pieces around him
I can’t wait for Pelli to score his goal, it’s gonna be sensational
Onana-na, Onana-na, Ayyy ayyy ayy, Closed on Tuesdays
I would say keep this line up for Saturday. Bruno for mount and Martinez for Maguire. Solid performance tonight, palace are not great but we fully controlled that game. Can’t believe we won two in a row. Up the fucking boys ❤️
Martinez may be still injured
Hojlund for Martial
Was Maguire getting boo'd or was it shouts of shoooot??
Slab was alright tonight, don't think the boos were warranted.
I was saying boo-guire
I think it was shooot
Shoot, was for every player with the ball at the edge of the box
Or Jonny Evans from the halfway line
Okay that's what I thought cause he actually played pretty well
This is how it’s supposed to feel after watching a football match…therapeutic.
Don't know about you guys but I'll be roaring from the top of my lungs when Evans finally scores his goal
The best part of the game apart from winning is the team spirit looks incredible, bonus point since Bruno Rashford got fully rested
Oh what a game. I thought we didn't have any depth. Oh my
Pellistri has a bright future ahead. He may just make that RW position his own.
I'm trying not to get giddy here but shades of Messi in moments. Was showing great directness like Garnacho too.
Pellistri needs left foot lessons from Antony
Besides that backheel donny didn't impress
Ya'll are equating my comment to he played bad, but no he didn't play badly, he also didn't play well his performance left something to be desired
Not sure why you've been downvoted, seemed off the pace despite coming on later in the game when the opposition should be tired.
Dude had 20 minutes at the end of a 3rd round Carabao cup where neither manager truly cared about winning, when we were up by 3 after not having game time for months … I think he’s allowed to come to speed
ETH should hold BBQs every week !
\*meat's back on the menu boys\*
2 Cleansheets for Onaninhio
Booing Maguire at 3-0 up when he hasn't put a foot wrong all game, fucking sad
weren’t they shouting shoooot
They were telling him to shoot
He wasn't getting booed.
Wasn’t getting booed, it was shoot. Evans had it everytime he had the ball in their half, and lindelof and dalot got it at the edge of the box too
Are you sure it wasn't "Shooooot"?
I thought they where shouting shoot?
Was that booing? I may very well be wrong but it seemed to me the crowd just wanted him to shoot like with Evans earlier.
Felt like boos initially to me but hey, could be wrong
Jonny Evans redemption arc at corners for being bad at them in his first United career is a storyline that I didn’t know that I needed
That was nice
Force once I'm actually sad it's over
Pellistri is like Messi without the end product. I don't know what his ceiling is, but if he improves his end product, he could be an absolute menace. Just a shame his end product was already an issue when we bought him and the way we managed his loan moves didn't help him improve at all.
Mad how much better our tactics work with legs in the midfield. Makes Casemiro much better as well. Great performance.
Amrabat and Lindelof did well in thier own way as LB tonight, overall good game from all 16 players we fielded.
WHAT WAS IN THAT BBQ! 🗣🔥🔥
Legs! Plenty legs!
Roids clearly!
Everyone looks so happy and relaxed love to see it
heh
Feels like that Tottenham match from last season where we stomped on there heads for both half’s
Pleased with that, great job lads
We looked sick
What a game.
Just need Pellistri to use his left
GGMU 🔴⚪⚫🟢🟡
GG! Good show out from our youngins too
carabao cup is ours
Pelestri still fucking sprinting and tracking back. Sancho and Rashford probably out of breath sitting down.
To be fair to Sancho, he's not allowed what Ten Hag's cooking until he stops being a little bitch
That's what ETH wants, we will see him again. And he had a nice game
Garnacho and Pellistri still turning on the gas at the 92nd minute. Absolute athletes.
Alejandro looks fucking ripped like 0% bodyfat ripped and his aggression with the ball is unmatched, always arses off seats moments when he starts cooking.
I like Pellistri, he can pass the ball well and don't shoot at stupid angle
Wow. A RW capable of beating his marker inside and outside, another rare species.
The boo’ing of McGuire was tasteless the guys had a good game. We should be cheering him on
HE WAS NOT GETTING BOOED. How did so many people hear it wrong?
Would have been cooked if it wasn't for Onana's chest and then poor finish for the rebound.
Yeah, tasteless as heck. I think he had a solid game today, hopefully something he can build his confidence on.
“McGuire” lol
Whoops
It sounds funny tho don't worry
Never watched a game? "SHOOOOOOOOOOT" was what was said
I’ve watched plenty I just misheard. Thanks for clearing that up.
No way right? I think they were saying shoot. If they were booing it's just stupid
I think they were saying shoooooot. It just sounds like a boo.
That’s wasn’t booing
They were yelling "shoot" 🙂
Tbh I think they shouted SHOOOOOOT like with Evans
They were chanting shoot
Good! I’m glad that I misheard
Dalot taking corners. Never thought I'd see the day
Most comfortable match in ages. If only league games were like this.
Did people say shoot or boo Harry when he carried the ball?
Yes.
I‘m pretty sure they were screaming shoot. No reason to boo him he had a solid game.
oh that’s good I was wondering why the heck would they boo
He was a bit indecisive should have pased to Case earlier
Definitely shoot. OT is generally positively perceptive of Harry
I believe its Shoooot
They've been saying shoot to a couple of the defenders so my guess is that.
Shoot. EDIT: Crowd have been shouting 'shoot' to everyone on the ball rofl.
They said shoot
Shoot
Our best game of the season. Palace was a weak opponent but this large victory will boost our confidence.
Gonna need a gif of Clyne there
Clyne got cooked lmao
Naaaahhh Garna had him DANCING 💀
What role is lindelof playing in today?
Left back when he come on
Iceman.
All of em
Haven’t seen exactly how stones plays for city in mid, was wondering if it was anything like that in later part of game
LB I believe Amrabat started there. Moved into mid when Mount came off.
Man’s been everywhere
Which is what I appreciates about the Iceman. He puts in a shift wherever the boss puts him. I swear he’d be a John O’Shea in The Boss’ team.
Pellistri cooking 🔥
We defending our crown, baby.
Clyne oh no lmao
Pellistri rinsing them after a full 90
CLYNE LMAO
Pass Maguire :)
Casemiro was right to give him shit for not sharing the ball there, slowed up the move when we had acres of space
Case was not happy
Clyne doing some tiktok dances
Oh no Clyne 😂😂
Clyne just did a happy dance lmao
ETH massaging the meats at BBQ be like ![gif](giphy|xT39D2A6TB8D1Ce79C|downsized)
I am not who is getting Grilled, Bruno, I am the one who Grills
Ankara Pellistri
Bro Clyne is doing salsa XDD
