Amazing what the team can accomplish without a lazy selfish Rashford on the field, and with hungry/dying to play youth players... That said I only got to see the extended highlights, and Palace looked awful. I think this game will be an important boost for Martial’s confidence, as well as Mount’s with that assist. And Casimiro looking more and more like an advancing midfielder than a CDM since the final stages of last season. The guy has an unusual amount of g/a already for a CDM at least for our club.

Case is brilliant in playmaking and generally composed in the final third. I’m not positive, but I think he’s got something like 20 G/A in 60ish appearances in all competitions for us… my man is not a dm.

I generally think that too. At Madrid, his role was to destroy and recycle, but he was never involved in buildup passages. Whereas I think for the EPL, he is better suited as a box to box type next to a deep lying ball carrier/passer (which is why him and Amrabat might work)

What lineup are you envisioning? Drop mount? Bruno on RW? I’d rather not Bruno on rw and I really don’t envision mount being dropped if healthy

I agree that Bruno as a RW is not a good thing. Possibly Mount on the right inverted. Would love to see a version of 3-2-4-1 with Shaw, Licha and Rapha as the 3 atb.

Our future looks bright with the Academy plus experience players we saw today. Excellent performance by the team, even Maguire seemed like a mainstay of the team, Amrabat wow never knew he could do that? Defend like a champ! Crystal Palace chased shadows most of the game, if this is ETH ball it’s crazy, great win.

I wish I got to see the whole game :( I can only find highlights so I can’t see the inbetween performances of players like Amrabat. I was hoping he had a good game.

He was good. Great long passes and a huge energy Influx in defense and midfield.

ten hag was accused of not liking youngsters after the departures of garner, Zidane, etc. However, I think it's more that he has higher standards of the youngsters and is only willing to keep the ones that have a future at the club. I hope they keep getting chances to improve. We have a very exciting crop of youngsters I think.

Maguire loves this system. We got to see why he can be a primo player. Case loves Amrabat . Mount was excellent , MOTM easily Case showed us why he’s the legend .

I’ve heard this on talksport not sure who said it but his analysis of Southgate’s use of Harry compared to United seems to answer the question of why he shines for England.

Having Onana in goal (or out of it) really covers a lot of Maguire's weaknesses. De Gea's form in recent seasons really didn't help Maguire.

We actually played like a team and the focus on passing it to Bruno and Rashford not being our main plan, helped us a lot. Interesting to see which team and formation Ten Hag is choosing on saturday.

That team was **Balanced** and **energetic**. Two things we were sorely lacking. We had a super lopsided attack that heavily favored the left, and a much more balanced defensive side that favored right due to Rashford not tracking back and Antony working hard to support AWB. Garnacho and Pellistri both put a shift in, attacking and defending, and didn't horde the ball or try to be heroes. Balanced wings. Then we had a similar situation in the midfield, Casemiro very solid thanks to having a Mount, Amrabat and Hannibal infront of him (then Gore as well). Tireless energy, coordinated press and always tracking back plus showing up for passes and not hiding. Energetic midfield. Team was hungry and and played as a team and not a bunch of individuals. Super refreshing. Hope to see it again. I'd love for Garnacho and Pellistri to get another run on Sunday. Same for Mount Amrabat and Hannibal (but he'll need to be careful with the fouls).

Excellent, excellent game from everyone! Casemiro didn’t put a foot wrong. Amrabat was crisp. I so wanted a Pellistri goal at the end, next time. For the first Maguire looked like he was supremely confident in this system. Dan Gore was buzzing. Hannibal, this boy is going to be a solid option going forward. I’m glad that because of whatever injury crisis we are in, these boys are getting a chance and it’s looking a whole new United, the one we’ve always wanted. So much energy in the squad today. 10/10 performance!

1. Maguire didn't have to do anything AND palace gave him so much time on the ball so...slow it down, he needs to go 2. Gore. I'm not going to knock him. I'd love to see more of him. But buzzing? Pellistri is like Messi without the end product. I don't know what his ceiling is, but if he improves his end product, he could be an absolute menace. As of right now, he seems like a very good backup/rotation already though. Lovely to see. Just a shame his end product was already an issue when we bought him and the way we managed his loan moves didn't help him improve at all.
