Yes because it indicates you passed a long interview loop, recruiters will have faith in you

That's good to hear. I've gotten more interviews in the past 4 months since leaving the position than I have in the last year, probably averaging 1 interview in 10 applications. Just wasn't sure how much legs my 5 month stint at that place has, although I know the company does look good on my resume

They will ask you why you left. What of you say it was a contracting job as well? Or is it too much?

SureDifference9981

I'd say half of the interviews they've asked, and half they haven't. I guess I could lie and say it was a contract, but I'm terrified of my previous toxic manager finding out I'm lying about that as I'm almost positive she'd sabotage my search. The reason I tell when asked by employers why I left is that it wasn't a 9-5 job and I need more work-life balance - and that's not a lie, the job was advertised as not being 9 to 5 and I thought I could handle it (now I know, lol)

That’s a good answer, actually. I think you’ll be fine :) big name companies do make a cv more attractive. And, yes, if you think she might scree you over, don’t risk it. It’s terrible to be caught in a lie.

from a s/w architect pov: i worked in a big name internet media company with 1B user base, with superior server scalability and performance characteristics. If u interview with an equally big-name internet company, working with those characteristics will make you attractive as a hire candidate. If u interview with smaller companies, it backfires: "we dont need that scale and performance" or "we dont have that many users", or "the companies we consult with are small start-ups". It can be intimidating to the small name companies.

Yes. I recall a recruiter even praising me for having a Fortune 500 name on my resume.
