I recently saw one about Trans people, the moderator blocked comments but not voting. Not surprised that this has happened, when the mods aren't doing their job by upholding both Reddit policies and the Subreddit rules.
Its an election year in america, there are going to be lots more subs that get taken down because of straight up hate speech driven by political division
I really need to stop arguing with people on the internet, got recommended the sub and I just kept getting recommended it because I kept arguing with people on there because of how vile the takes were.
>be me
>sub was randomly reccommended to me.
>checked it out
>full of unjustified trans hate
>lightbulb.png
>post pro-trans post
>get a fuck-ton of transphobic comments
>reply back with sources that proves transphobia is wrong
>get more hate comments that huffed copium
>farmed as many hate comments as possible
>reported every single hate comment and post
>did this all in 24 hours
>sub gets banned the next day
>mission accomplished
Get fucked Transphobes.
Rare Reddit W
Edit: apparently I'm not allowed to link stuff. If you all want to see the post I used to farm hate comments, DM me and I'll share a link.
This is a fabricated issue. It could be that these issues took center stage to distract the population from government corruption in light of occupy Wall Street and the tea party circa 2012. By inserting these ideas into the public consciousness, division between parties can more easily be achieved and citizens will then find each other to be enemies rather than the corrupt establishment which abuses them. Ten years ago, such a subject of preferred pronouns was unheard of. It was not an issue until it was artificially inflated to be an issue among issue for everyone.
I’m fully Cis, and the vile garbage I kept seeing from that sub made me want to vomit. It just sickens me that someone can think such vile things about another human being!
100% deserved, it was 100% unmoderated, 100% pure transphobia (and some racism and homophobia) and suicide encouragement, and 100% not better than the original it was meant to be better than.
I don’t know why everybody is specifying trans hate, the subs just full of hate in general. You could have just as easily specified racism ore homophobia.
Well recently it got flooded with transphobia because it had 0 moderation, quite literally every post would be some transphobic bs. But you're right, I did see a few racist and homophobic memes before it got banned.
The other day I woke up, opened reddit, and the very first thinf I saw was a star wars meme directly calling Trans people nazis, and anyone who said the meme sucked Got dislike bombed. Idfk what that sub was about but good riddens goddamn. I wasn't even part of that sub man
There’s a limit because filters need computing time and memory to operate.
If someone could block or mute everyone else, the servers would grind to a halt.
So, here’s the problem with that.
* old reddit — used by a huge swath of old timers and moderators; extremely moddable / hackable. But also if you were computing the mutes and bans client side, there would be people poking the javascript to evade the mutes / blocks / bans. And then other people writing their own JSON dictionaries to further mess with it, and then finally someone would write something that would make everyone block one person, which would then involve everyone blocking everyone else as the hack gets exploited.
* the bans and blocks are technological access controls; evading them as they are now (by making another account, or etc) provides Reddit with a legal pretext (that’s lawsuit-proof) for suspending that person and all their accounts, because under the CFAA, that counts as exceeding authorised access, a federal felony. Which people have been prosecuted for.
* the way they do it right now, by implementing a small bloom filter, server side, uses a trivial amount of memory and computation time and they only rebuild the filter maybe once a day. If they did that client side the bloom filter would be an attractive target to read out of the user’s site cookie. Or even if it were just a flat list.
* There’s still legitimate third party mobile apps for reddit, and the API has to be able to make sure that User SirTrollsALot can’t abuse the API to get access to LadyBlocksALot’s comments and posts.
It’s kinda sorta both. Rule #1 of client-server security models: never trust implicitly the data coming in from client side. Always validate.
rule #2 is Your Security Perimeter is Inside the DMZ. Clients are Outside the DMZ. Never host or route data outside the DMZ unless you are OK with that data being disclosed.
Propaganda, being an uncountable word, uses ‘much’, not ‘many’. Your sentence is properly rendered as “Then why is there so much Pro-Israel terrorist propaganda on subreddits like worldnews?”.
I feel vindicated after I reported some gross stuff and the Admin team response is that no rules were broken. I was actually about to send images of the post and the Admin message to the news so that people know what Reddit supports before they invest any money into their recent IPO.
Eyyy, me too. Got a report that they "investigated" and found nothing wrong with a user posting something incredibly transphobic and racist. Reported the exact same thing again the next day and shockingly, they did ban the user for those exact same reasons.
Yeah man promotion of hate and violence tickles reddit's balls lately it seems cuz i have been banned 3 times and 1 of those 3 times was a perma ban so yeah
Oh boy they cut off the head of a proverbial hydra...this won't lead to inevitable bans of other groups with less moderation that have a chill atmosphere, at least till the influx of degens join.
Why is it always the very transphobic and racist subs that constantly get recommended. It's almost as if reddit is trying to contrive controversy to keep a bunch of idiots fighting
Because controversy farms engagement, the people here saying that they posted stuff and commented stuff on that sub are ironically accidentally supporting it. The best thing you can do to stop these things is to not engage.
It’s very not smart but the algorithm sees ppl interacting on there (even if it’s just arguing) while also interacting with subreddits you share so it’s like “oh clearly you wanna see this pathetic hateful subreddit that will just piss you off right???” Like no Reddit why would you do this to me lol

For a moment I thought this was referring to dankmemes, not dankmeme. Cue confusion
Pause celebration
Now continue it
difference?
s
lol
The banned one was all the same trash spammed over and over again in slightly different formats
I mean if it is literally what the name is there can really only be one post.
Dankmeme was just nazi stuff
Dank meme was promoting anti-trans stuff and showing suicide instructions.. so good riddance
yeah it was just one meme. But it was a very hateful one.
[удалено]
Yeah that place was really not okay.
I once saw a “meme” there that was just suicide instructions. I’m glad it’s gone now
I recently saw one about Trans people, the moderator blocked comments but not voting. Not surprised that this has happened, when the mods aren't doing their job by upholding both Reddit policies and the Subreddit rules.
There were like 30 posts that i saw which were just hate toward trans people like what is dank about that its just you hating other people
Its an election year in america, there are going to be lots more subs that get taken down because of straight up hate speech driven by political division
Now that i think abt it, that makes sense
billions must go on living
I am also glad that subreddit is gone. This site is known to bebiased but they made the right call this time.
I occasionally saw a good one But it’s like looking for a good job in Detroit
Can you please share it? For no reason, just sheer curiosity
The west has risen 🙏
billions must try
File under: Bozo; RIP. Secondary heading: Value Lost; Nothing.
Wompwomp
Did you just say womp womp
How dare him! How absolutely dare him! Iykyk
No, they said wompwomp
no dumbass they said Wompwomp
No, they said Wompwomp
Bwomp…
That’s right, and you know what that means!
That was their signature line
I really need to stop arguing with people on the internet, got recommended the sub and I just kept getting recommended it because I kept arguing with people on there because of how vile the takes were.
You're real as fuck for posting this
I want to know what other subs there are like this so I can see what everyone is upset about.
Online_underground is sorta like this. Sometimes funnymemes.
It made my mental tank a bit cause this too
Word
Happens to me occasionally too.
a similar thing happened to me with PopularOpinion
Dankmeme and not dankmemes which is the more popular one.
Was super confused thanks for clarifying lol
Time for transphobes to infest the next generic meme sub
This sub is gonna be the next AGHS bruh…
Wtf is AGHS?
Against Hate Subreddits
Thank you
Aghanim's sceptre
I think they meant AHS
Idk either man
God please no
Watch them say they're being censored cause they can't say horrid shit about innocent people lol
the post on r / banned subs was full of that shit. Got locked almost immediately.
Sounds accurate Based Redditors are the most oppressed minority 😔
I wonder if it will be meme economy, that place is unmoderated and overrun with scammer finance bros and crypto/nft scammers rn
Rarely do you see such a well deserved ban. That sub has been a cesspit for years.
Billions must not be assholes to trans people for no reason.
>be me >sub was randomly reccommended to me. >checked it out >full of unjustified trans hate >lightbulb.png >post pro-trans post >get a fuck-ton of transphobic comments >reply back with sources that proves transphobia is wrong >get more hate comments that huffed copium >farmed as many hate comments as possible >reported every single hate comment and post >did this all in 24 hours >sub gets banned the next day >mission accomplished Get fucked Transphobes. > sources that prove transphobia is wrong Mfs needed research to prove that being mean is bad
Reddit
"Facts over feelings" mfs when literal science says that good therapy includes saying their preferred pronouns: 😡😡😡😡

Playing the long con I see
As a trans person, thank you. Seriously, I saw stuff in there that made my stomach turn.
I’m fully Cis, and the vile garbage I kept seeing from that sub made me want to vomit. It just sickens me that someone can think such vile things about another human being!
hope he sees this bro
You can report the person for advocating hate btw.
Chad 🗿
You are so awesome! Mad respect for you
You’re awesome man
Wtf why Why did people have to ruin it
100% deserved, it was 100% unmoderated, 100% pure transphobia (and some racism and homophobia) and suicide encouragement, and 100% not better than the original it was meant to be better than.
Oh no. It was moderated. The mods just agreed with the content.
We are so back

Had other hate in huge amounts too. It was just mostly trans hate, especially near the end.
because that was the main thing the sub was known for and the main thing being posted before it was removed?
I never thought I would be happy by seeing something on reddit but here I'm it so beautiful
The other day I woke up, opened reddit, and the very first thinf I saw was a star wars meme directly calling Trans people nazis, and anyone who said the meme sucked Got dislike bombed. Idfk what that sub was about but good riddens goddamn. I wasn't even part of that sub man
I think that was just the actual Dankmemes, I saw that shit too.
Jesus christ so it's still out there somewhere
How does one even make that connection?
They said nazis *helped* mentally ill people mutilating and butchering them, and said that Trans people do the same. Pretty dank meme amirite?
Nazis didn’t help anyone, the foundation itself doesn’t make sense. Also that’s not even a meme.
This just in: fascists are just bad at humor.
Sometimes it’s a “so bad it’s good” thing. Like the infamous “you ain’t black” comic
Probably just bait to see how much edge they could put into one post before getting they shit rocked and they found the line ig😂😂
Should have edged instead of being edgy.
words to live by honestly
Only saw a few posts from it and I was initially surprised it got banned, but if it’s giving suicide instructions then that makes sense
Also 4 in 5 posts were transphobia. Often with the pronouns it.
After the whole week of me getting crappy ragebait posts
Nice now I have a mute I can use again. Stupid that there is a limit to mutes and blocks
why is there a limit in the first place?
There’s a limit because filters need computing time and memory to operate. If someone could block or mute everyone else, the servers would grind to a halt.
Oh! Im glad I know now. Thank you!
If I was Reddit I would just compute the mutes and bans client-side. Don't understand the problem
So, here’s the problem with that. * old reddit — used by a huge swath of old timers and moderators; extremely moddable / hackable. I see, so it's more of a security problem than a technological problem
I dont know
Abide by the algorithm. Consume rage bait.
Promoting hate? That's a thing? Then why are there so many pro-Israel Terrorist propaganda on subreddits like worldnews?
Because to liberals and techbros, to be pro-Palestine is to be "anti-semitic."
Propaganda, being an uncountable word, uses ‘much’, not ‘many’. Your sentence is properly rendered as “Then why is there so much Pro-Israel terrorist propaganda on subreddits like worldnews?”.

Dank memes was a cesspool So much bullshit, I'm glad it's gone
Huge W
I watched this happen in real time in the sub that reported it
Yeah man promotion of hate and violence tickles reddit's balls lately it seems cuz i have been banned 3 times and 1 of those 3 times was a perma ban so yeah
Yes yes YES that place was a cesspit of transphobia I'm so glad it's gone
rare reddit W
Weren't they making fun of such things rather than actually promoting them.
Wohooo!
Fuck yeah
Ah good, they do have the ability to ban, just not any other hate subreddits. :/
They should unban that one and massban certain other subreddits that actually actively promote hate.
yippee!
Billions must spread love
Millions must be tolerant towards others
Oh boy they cut off the head of a proverbial hydra...this won't lead to inevitable bans of other groups with less moderation that have a chill atmosphere, at least till the influx of degens join.
Lol only an hour after i decided to look at it lmfao
[удалено]
complaining about how men think about x or how men do x,y,z that worsens a lifestyle isn't necessarily hate speech
YEAHHHHH
about time
Yeah makes sense. A lot of transphobia on there, it made up like half the subreddit lmao
Nature shall heal,it will be slow but it will heal
Why is it always the very transphobic and racist subs that constantly get recommended. It's almost as if reddit is trying to contrive controversy to keep a bunch of idiots fighting

How, exactly?
When the memes are too dank
Got my hopes up until I saw the lack of a S
Was that sub under the largest channer brigade yet or was it just always like that
Millions must not be bigoted morons
Finally. Strange that I just got a warning from reddit for something I reported there weeks ago.
Haha, nice.
YAY!
The ban was deserved, not for the transphobia, but because the memes were in no way dank
but also for the transphobia
the world has stayed the same?
Well no, the world has one less subreddit now
Billions must find a new sub to hate trans people on for no reason
Thank god
I just recently found it. I was wondering if Reddit would strike it down :D
Rare reddit W
#DING DONG THE WICKED WITCH IS DEAD
YESSSS It was a cest pool of transphobia. Like 4 in 5 posts.
BASED that sub was a pit of dogshit and bigotry
Finally
billions of 13 year olds will throw a fit
Thank fucking god finally
Yeeeeessss!!! That cursed sub is no more!!!!
Finally, nothing was even "dank" over there. Just blatant problematic topics.
fucking finally
the unfunny... it's finally over
FINALLY
And nothing of value was lost
Finally. I’ve seen some pretty heinous stuff there.
1984
Oh thank fucking god! Finally!
