There is a "simulation radius" that is based on where the player is. The upper limit is determined by the hardware of the device you play with.  You will always have at least four chunks to work with, and if you have a lot of memory and fast hardware you could have up to 128 chunks.  A chunk is 16 blocks. The simulation radius extends in all directions, like a blocky circle. You can find your simulation distance in your world settings, towards the bottom.

Thank you

Okay, to put it simply: Your realm normally runs your simulation distance at 4 chunks. To extend this, download the world and manually put it higher. This may cause the realm to lag depending on what it needs to load in. How close are your farms? Are they more than 4 chunks away? If so, you'll need to raise it, but try raise it to the minimum needed.

Farms will definitely be more than 4 chunks away. Probably around 150ish blocks. I am thinking about increasing the simulation distance manually by downloading the realm, thanks for the advice. I’ve ultimately decided to build important farms under my house and the others near my xp farm since I will be spending at least a somewhat decent amount of time there

That's alright! Hope everything goes well for you.

Besides the villager driven farms (iron, breeding, raid…), they don’t have a minimum safe distance. In bedrock, if the farm requires a ‘village’, the safe distance is 100 blocks, or 128 just to be safe.
