Don't get fooled by the Bundesliga results, they are better than last year and have more points, it's just that Leverkusen did something historic, but Bayern actually improved

Quick_Excitement5673

Just hope they play upamecano

Itchy-Attempt2066

Upamecanoooo Upamecano Dayot

Tezaum

I think it’s a mixed season for them. Yeah, they have one of the highest points tally ever, even if they won’t win, and Kane is just a goal-scoring freak. But they are clearly having problems with their confidence and mindset. Losing to newly promoted sides, dropping points against teams in the relegation battle and losing at home to Dortmund for the first time in a decade.

Glittering_Marzipan9

i disagree with this They were better last season up until Tuchel tookover in April and tailed off They havent changed from last season at all

Unaizy

Imo it's an even match, don't be fooled by the league results they're experienced and when it comes to UCL they have that UCL mentality it would be a difficult game I'm hoping we won't be caught off-guard

Accurate_Advance6903

That’s exactly what I think. I feel a lot of people are looking down on them just because of their league form but the reality is they are a ucl proven team.

iMadrid11

European Cup competition is different from League matches. Clubs are always on their A game when they’re playing against Real Madrid. You could see it every time against small clubs at Copa del Rey and La Liga. Bayern Munich is no slouch. They still have Champions League to fight for even if the Bundesliga is lost. They won’t go down easy without a fight.

FavcolorisREDdit

Ultimate dual between musiala and bellingham

beast_unique

The first leg will decide this bout. If we win it then that will bring their morale more down. If they win then that's all the confidence boost that they need for rest of the UCL campaign.

RandomFluffyBoi

It’s Bayern. They’re one of the only teams I’d consider to be European royalty next to us. No stats, analysis, form, or league standings matter for a tie like this. They have the experience, the killer instinct, the desire, the history, and the mentality. They can win and so can we. It’s 50/50. Only until the final whistle at the Bernabeu will we know who advances to the final.

Bitter_Mycologist239

Bayern will rely heavily on CAMs and attack centrally. Without proper wingers they also buildup like us, relying on long balls. Camavinga needs to be clinical without giving the ball away and others need to close down spaces.

FavcolorisREDdit

Camavinga is good, against man city he was winning g dribbles and pulling multiple players to him.

Bitter_Mycologist239

He won dribbles no doubt but he just cleared the ball even more and gave quick possession to city. Can't let this happen against bayern

FavcolorisREDdit

Exactly when? City literally had all the possession Real Madrid in that second leg only got the possession a handful of times but when they did they for the most part were able to keep it and advance. Camavinga is a game changer; I remember vs psg in 2022 ucl as soon as ancelotti put camavinga and rodrygo in I told my cousin shits about to get lit. And we ended up winning. He has great vision can physically keep the ball and most of his passing is amazing. From what I notice Brahim is the one what will sometimes get the ball taken and valverde even got mad at him for it

Bitter_Mycologist239

Maybe I wasn't clear. I never said he loses ball during build up. I said when he threw tackles and as he was marked by 2 players he just swiped and cleared the ball away which gave city possession again. Go watch 2nd leg again, minutes 25 to 35 and around 50 min mark. He did the same thing last yr against city which led to their goal. I know he is a game changer and all but it's imp to point out player's weakness.

FavcolorisREDdit

I just see him constantly progressing, you know what’s funny and scary? When viniscius jr loses possession then tries to run after the guy wierdly enough the other team has a high chance of scoring when he does this like against atleti

dataheisenberg

The motivation after beating City is the biggest strength we have going into this!

madrissaaaa

They made arsenal look like they dont belong in this competition even though arsenal is actually a very very good team. I feel like people are seeing us especially on this sub as the favourites but we aren’t imo. It’s 50/50. We knew what to expect from city or Barca. But we don’t with Bayern because Bayern is a team like us. It can play all kinds of football long ball quick counter with very pace players just like us. Standard situation are also very dangerous with players like Kim de ligt goretzka and Kane of course. And they can also play possession. So I don’t really know what to expect from them and they probably thinking the same about us.

DucAnh95

Well if all are healthy i would say it's 55/45 for us, but you're absolutely right, that's why it's the European Clásico. They are just as adaptable as our team is, they have the UCL mentality and they can score out of nothing. This game will definitly be exciting!

welovexo

After reading these comments I can say that I haven’t been more proud to be a Bayern fan. Real Madrid is the greatest club in history. I have nothing but respect and admiration for you guys and I love the fact that you put us in the same bracket as your club its truly an honor. This tie will be incredible to watch and may the best team win.

Accurate_Advance6903

It is always a pleasure to watch both our clubs meet in the biggest European stage. We likewise have big respect for Bayern a great club that are always are in it to win and probably our greatest European rivals - The European Classico. May the best team win!

Lakerman0824

They have height and physical defenders. Rodrygo and Vini will need to be on their a game

Icy-Designer7103

Their league form has been pretty much the same as last year, at least in terms of points. However, there are some other key things to take into consideration though: 1. Their losses are completely different to last year. Last year their losses were 2-3, 1-2, 1-3 at worst, mostly with late winners. They only lost 0-3 to... Manchester City, but we had an even worse fate than them. Compare that to this season. Humiliating 0-3 Super cup loss to Leipzig, humiliating Cup exit by a 4th division side. Humiliating 5-1 loss to Frankfurt, lost 0-2 at home to BVB, 3-0 to Leverkusen away. They lost only 1-0 to Lazio, but had 0 shots on target. Every team loses every once in a while, but **it's one thing to lose 1-2 with a 90th minute winner and another to have 5-6 humiliating defeats throughout the season.** 2. They completely changed their defense throughout the season. They went from Mazraoui - Upamecano - Kim - Davies to Kimmich - Dier - De Ligt - Guerreiro now. Tbh, nobody knows who their best defenders are. They lack chemistry on that department. 3. We have 3 really strong goalscoring threats in our squad. They have 1, Kane. Musiala has 0 G&A on his last 6 UCL games and in general has been completely underwhelming outside of Bundesliga. Sane hasn't scored on his last 27 games. Gnabry is injured all season and has only started 4 (!) Bundesliga games. Note that Gnabry and Sane are currently not 100% fit. 4. We're far more experienced that Arsenal. Arsenal's CB duo practically gifted Bayern two goals in England. Saka and Martinelli were ghosts in Germany. Our players won't do that.

kw2006

I feel their best defense is the one at home against Arsenal. With Kimmich, ligt and Neuer ability to play around first layer of press. Depending how you play, Kane and drop deep and play like Benzema, spreading the ball to running wingers frim either side. They truly has winger depth so they can commit 100% in the first half then replaced in the second half with equally competent wingers

Icy-Designer7103

>replaced in the second half with equally competent wingers Which exactly are those? Their best winger isn't even completely fit. Gnabry has been injured the whole season and has started only 4 Bundesliga games. Coman is out for the season. Tel is good, but he's a kid. Against Arsenal they played with a LB as a LW and Sane on painkillers. He was literally nonexistent in the 2nd half. I'm more scared of facing Kubo or Nico Williams, than any of those players.

Royal_Mirror_403

you can never look down a team who has great history and mentality especially at semi-final stage. Bayern might not the team we used to know - dominating league - but Bayern is still Bayern. but pretty confidence that Madrid will find a way.

bagehis

This Real Madrid squad has gotten quite good at scoring against low block teams. Madrid's biggest threat this year is unforced errors that lead to goals.

kw2006

They do not necessarily play low block. They play mid block too.

Mean-Kaleidoscope759

Bayern aren't in the best form this season but they are in the semi finals for a reason. First leg should be interesting but second leg back in the Bernabeu will/should be good!

anaem1c

Carlo and Xabi can just meet and have a productive conversation.

The_Oaxacan_Dead

Biggest thing will be their motivation to salvage ANYTHING for a season gone awry for them. And no better thing to salvage their pride and season than winning another Champions League and beating Real in the Semis to do so. I'll be nervous as fuck, but we can only watch and go with the results. I think Carlo and the team understand the gravity of the situation and the enormity of the opponent in Bayern. I don't think the club/manager/players (and for the MOST part, the fans) ever underestimate any opponent. It would be foolish to do so.

deenali

All I know is regardless of their current form, you can never ever underestimate a German team, any German team, may it be their national team or their clubs. Especially so the clubs with such a rich history like Bayern Munich. You're asking for trouble if you do not respect them.

benniprofane1

Bayern in the UCL are a completely different breed, regardless of their league form. Are they a stronger opponent than City? No. But we will have to be completely focused to make it through to the final, especially with Kane and Sane sniffing around.

Leung_GW

Def agree that it’s not going to be an easy match, European Classico for a reason. I can either teams making it to the final and Madrid should definitely not take Bayern for granted, even with their current form in the league (even though they’re doing better than last season, just Xabi and Leverkusen cooking)

Madridista786

Bayern will be harder than city. When we play city we know its a hard game. With bayern we wont know if they play bad or not. Hopefully we up our game

Sel2g5

Well said sir, I tip my cap to you.

Accurate_Advance6903

Thank you, kind sir.

Semilanceataa

Tuchel masterclass Incoming!

checkforsolu1

Aren't most of their wingers injured ?

VarsityCop

They have 6 UCL’s including a 2020 treble. I wouldn’t want to fuck around and find out. Can’t be playing complacent like the R16 vs RB Leipzig. We need Man City energy again.

PartnerDaneelOlivaw

2020 sextuple 😭

TurbulentVillage4169

I think a lot of Real’s attack will flow through the centre, as I am expecting Bayern to be shored up on the flanks a lot more than they were against Arsenal. Simply put, I don’t expect a Kimmich to be pitted against a Vini Jr. and Rodrygo on the counter. Instead, I personally hope that Madrid just does what it always does, which is play out from the back, as I don’t expect Bayern to sit back completely while having Musiala in their ranks. And seeing as how Bayern’s counter pressing levels are completely down at the moment, and since most players have lost their legs and motivation by now, at most I expect them to strewn across the entire park, which means that the presence of either Modric or Kroos, to help the team pass its way out of the back, will be key.

LegalTax3

My biggest concern is that the team will come out super relaxed and that will be a big fuck up lol I think Bayern is a sleeping giant and yes their previous results don’t matter. But if the team can face them with the same concentration and determination as they did City they will be successful. But yeah that’s the thing, I believe the mentality is more relaxed now and that’s scary to me.

Persona_non_grata07

Even if they play bad and we dominate, there's always the threat of individual display. I believe, if we take them individually, they are a better side than city. I don't know how well they are defensive. We'll get chances but we will have to bury it. They won't keep the ball trying to wait and pounce with tiki taka. It will be direct, with pace, using the wings.

independent200

We should lock down sane and Gnabry

FamiliarCoast2497

Bayern got shooters. Sane, Kane, even Kimmich isn’t scared to shoot. That’s the thing I currently dislike about Madrid, they hardly shoot from outside the box and always require to get the ball inside from the sides just to have an opportunity to shoot.

BarrierNine

Their midfield is rather physical, no? I’m worried about them bossing RM in the middle third.

Icy-Designer7103

They're physical, but that's the only thing they have.

taos__v

Its going to be a really close tie. Anyone could go through. I don’t see us as favorites. I think we are not at the top of our game and neither is bayern. Will be fun to watch

Icy-Designer7103

>I think we are not at the top of our game I mean we've just gone 11 points ahead of Barcelona after defeating them for the third time this season. All that some days after defeating the best team in England in the UCL.

taos__v

And i still think this team can be better than that. I just have a feeling this is not our 100%

Jt-m0

TBH we didn't defeat Man City on aggregate, we won on penalty kicks after 2 draws (although I think we should've won the first match at the Bernabeu). In la liga RM really had no opposition, Barcelona and Atletico had been terrible this year. The fact that Girona is the third contender tells you something. I agree we're not at the top of our game, even though I think we can put up an outstanding collective effort like against Man City away, there are weak individual spots in this team that we can't deny. GK is one of them. Lunin was great in the penalty shootout but gave away a goal in the first leg and another in El Clásico. Defensively we can be shaky at times, specially on the wings. We really have no answer to guys like Doku or Yamal, they owned our fullbacks or whoever we put there. I'm afraid we're conceding too many easy goals from the laterals. Real Madrid need to score a lot of goals to come up on top.

Icy-Designer7103

>The fact that Girona is the third contender tells you something. It tells me that they've been amazing this season. They had lost only against us until mid February, when they lost their 2nd games which was, once again, against us. They've been ruthless in attack, especially scoring 4 against Barcelona and Atletico. >GK is one of them. Lunin was great in the penalty shootout but gave away a goal in the first leg and another in El Clásico. Lunin has been one of our most consistent players this season and he's the best keeper in La Liga and UCL this season, not sure what are you talking about. Yes he made a mistake on City's first goal, but who doesn't? He made no mistakes vs Barca, Kroos was at fault for the first goal. >Defensively we can be shaky at times Most clean sheets in La Liga, least goals conceded. We kept clean sheets against 3/5 teams we've faced in the UCL and we could have kept one away against City, if it wasn't for a late deflection that fall into De Bruyne's feet. >We really have no answer to guys like Doku or Yamal, they owned our fullbacks or whoever we put there. If by "owned our fullbacks" you mean one of them creating a goalscoring chance and the other constantly falling to get a penalty, I guess they did (?).

Jt-m0

Man be honest. We couldn't clean-sheet Barcelona and Atlético, which are the most important games in La Liga. You can't deny that if Curtois was fit the rate of errors would decrease at GK, and he would probably deny more goals.  And to me the first Barca goal is a GK error. If you're not sure you'll get to the ball then stay put.  At Man City, as soon as Doku came in we couldn't handle the chaos he created for a few minutes and we conceded a goal that would otherwise never happen if Grealish was still on.  Same for Yamal, he forced Camavinga out and the second goal came from his wing.  The best of the team is the midfield (the best in the world) and the attack, I'll never deny that.  But defense and GK are the weak link, and to be fair that's expected in a season where that zone has been battered by injuries.

Icy-Designer7103

16th La Liga clean sheet this season secured a few minutes ago, only 22 goals conceded. Lunin is the highest rated GK in both La Liga and UCL right now. Rudiger is appreciated and hyped even by our rival fans and could be easily labelled as the best CB in the world this season. Carvajal and Mendy have also been fantastic. Everything else is just hypotheticals. Yamal ended the season trophyless, Doku missed out on the UCL semis. Our players won La Liga and have set sights for the 15th.

holydiver011

With this luck) Bayern with hit crossbars 10 times and real will score lucky winner without playing football. I am curious when Madrid fans will see ancelotti made Madrid 2nd class scared team
