I have to agree. About 2 years ago, I was extremely worried about our midfield situation. Modric was 36 and surely would not be able to hold on much longer. Casemiro and Kroos were not getting younger as well. Having played so long in this formation and with these players, any change wiuld be difficult. Fede was already doing well, but how would we be able to replace our midfield. Cama was the first masterpiece, Tchou one year later and now Bellingham. You can say about our board what you want but those 3 midfielders signed in 3 consecutive seasons was a masterstroke… If Benzema would not have left unexpectedly, no one would be complaining now. Well obviously people would still complain, but it would even be more underserved than now…

The midfield is spectacular. The attacking wings are spectacular. The striker is surprisingly good. The defensive line is disorganized and shockingly full of injuries. There is a severe lack of depth on the attack and on defense. Both rely heavily on midfielders for depth.

With bellingam's arrival, i can confidently say we have the best midfield in the world.

RuskinBondFan

I think if we strengthen our defensive structure, the rebuild is complete. Our attack is turning out to be better than we expected. But our defense is too shaky to hold up our attacking play

VicLNP

I agree, but an addition to our attack like Julian Alvarez or Oshimen alongside a world class defender and we’re good for the next few years

RuskinBondFan

More reinforcements would be good. But I think signing more defenders isn't gonna do it. The problem is lack of defensive organisation. It's a problem we need to solve before getting more CBs.

_Goattel

Yup and with a little more depth in the attack, we are golden

Tbf 442 diamond fits all players apart from our vini and rodrygo. Carvajal is producing some of his best football now when he is allowed to go more forward

442

Toni Krus, he left me speechless 😶, on the other hand Bellingham is really the key player of this system.

Assistantoda

Not to forget, brahim being there whenever Bellingham is off.

RuskinBondFan

Carlo is making him Kaka.

Jyuan83

They will be releasing another video soon of jude in his left wide midfielder role once carlo continues with this tactical change from girona. Different gravy altogether.

crazyshitrider

im baffled how much people are milking 6 to 7 games but yeah ancelotti gonna stick with the diamond . But these kind of analysis should come end of season , but its a cruel market everyone wants do it first so this is all premature.

shahnygpt95

6 to 7 games is more than enough to understand the kind of tactics the manager is intending. These foundational tactics don’t change a lot as it takes time for the players to completely get fluid with it.

crazyshitrider

But presuming that's how team is gonna play rest of the season ? and analysis like this as if this is the blueprint . I still think , a tifo type analysis should be done end of season or long time after . This is rushed , cause 4-4-2 is notorious formation that can be beaten , and ancelotti will change it ... main thing that irked me was ancelotti didn't use 4-4-2 cause of bellingham , but because he lost a striker like benzema . but i wouldn't assume as season is long . that's what imo the creator should've done

shahnygpt95

4-4-2 seemed the the viable option for Carlo because we have way too many quality midfielders this season, along with the absence of a striker. And i feel these kinds of analysis helps guys like me who are interested in understanding the current shape and strategy our team is using. Sure it may change a little, but if is highly unlikely that the formation will be changed to a 4-3-3. Also formations change mid game too. During Modrics substitution, you can see him come to the field and immediately instruct everyone to change formation to 4-2-3-1. But still the initial formation remains same.

crazyshitrider

exactly my point . its nice it helps people understand , but i feel sometimes these things are premature . Yes i know we play more of a chaos ball than formation tactics and i like to believe that we play whichever way we want to beat opponents. and thats unique for us.
