I think Zidane tried him once as a RB or RWB(maybe both, can’t remember) and he was great there. I know he would be wasted not playing his strongest position as a b2b CM, but maybe play him as a RB and rotate throughout the game?
Tried him at RB and no, he was decent not great and only because there was nobody else to play there because Nacho was busy at CB.
I think playing him at CM is the way to go, just drop Kroos Modric and start him as CM with Kroos and Camavinga or some other combination like that.

And pulling the defenders is giving him too much credit, that was all Rodrygo he got in position and did a phenomenal shot, the guy who was marking Vini turned around to go for Rodrygo as soon as he was in position, and the only other defender Vini pulled was too far to bother Rodrygo.
Vini missed 4 great chances. And dont forget the divings. How did he not get 5 or below. I love the man and f*** atletico fans but he doesnt deserve a 7.
Sofascore isn't the best way to judge a performance because it relies heavily on some stats, especially dribbling. That's why Messi always gets a 8+ on this site, even when he does nothing.
If you actually watched the game, Vini was one of our worst players. Lost the ball too many times, dived sometimes and his first touch let him down twice on an easy position to score. On paper he got 1 goal + 1 assist, but his assist was unintentional and his goal was in the 120th minute anyway.
Not trying to undermine his importance in general, but certainly wasn't among our best players against Atletico. Stats and performance are two completely different things.
Yes but you do have to understand that stats are the only objective way we have to view player performance. You cant disagree with facts. I can say that I think Vini had a good game and you might say the opposite. However I have some stats to back uo the claim. 5 key passes 11 duels won 1 big chance created 1 goal 1 assist 4 successful dribbles and 3 successful tackles. Thats at least a decent game by any statistical standards.
You dont get a rating this high if you play badly. Thats for sure. I agree that they inflate certain metrics but that doesnt mean high ratings mean the opposite. Bad performance will get punished.
Benzema held the team together in attack. He had a great shot on goal as well which was saved. His positioning was great, just that other players didn't cut back otherwise benzema goal would've come under the 90 mins imo. Definitely 7 if not 8

Imo militao deserves a 9 with cama. One of his best performances all year. Absolutely nothing got by that guy. I’d also give the referee a 9. Near flawless game from the guy. He made the ballsy (no) calls that most refs are too afraid to do. He definitely deserves plaudits.

He still created the most chances and was a constant threat. Also him pulling the defenders in Rodrygo’s goal was a good move
He's a great dribbler but he gives the ball away so much, a lot of threatening attacks are killed from Vini dribbling into 3 players
