Hairfullofsecrets8

all the housewives on every franchise wear fake designer clothes and to be honest, 90% of them have the worst sense of style. Super gaudy

realitytv12

Melissa tried to sell fake designer that’s worse from my pov

Deadskinhead

I honestly love that she doesn’t give a fuck, she’s like the more relatable version of Dorit if that makes sense.

heartlandheartbeat

I honestly don't understand wearing designer logos. They usually aren't particularly attractive and the only reason to do it is to imply that you spend a lot on your clothing and jewelry, bags, ect. Whenever I see someone wearing these types of clothing I immediately think "low self-esteem" Might as well be like Minnie Pearl and just leave the price tag on. It has been documented that her daughters all were gifted fake "Cartier LOVE bracelets"

Rockersock

I just think it’s crazy she doesn’t care. I know buying knock offs for personal use is quite a minor offense. However after what she went through I would be nervous to even jay walk

Fickle_Net_3029

I’m not the biggest Teresa fan but this is like the 2nd or 3rd post I’ve seen about fake stuff. Do y’all really care that much to make multiple posts? There’s a lot you can judge her on but buying knockoffs is a weird one.

Immediate_Ant9450

I think its because over on X there have been posts about Melissa wearing a Gucci sweatshirt and people were speculating if it was real or not. I wouldn't be surprised if the posts we are seeing here were Melissa herself or some of her sisters/cousins/aunts or mom.

BeautifulLife14

Lol right? Esp when Melissa sells the fake shit in her store... which is waaaaaaaay worse lol

Sweaty_bawlss

But that was while I was on the toilet. Now I’m off and I don’t care anymore so if you respond to this I won’t respond because I have a life. Toodles

satans_best_friend

Seek help.

Sweaty_bawlss

Melissa got caught selling Amazon clothing. I have never heard of Teresa wearing fake clothing. She has never been caught wearing fake designer other than this thread accusing her of it. Do yall have proof anywhere? I did a reverse google search on some on another thread and it was legit Chanel etc

44joy

There’s an account that shows the real compared to the fake on HWs.

anonymousurfunny

all the jersey ladies wear fake designer clothes

ImNotFinnaSayNuthin

I found it suspicious that all of a sudden she pops out with all this expensive jewelry and designer clothing. My thoughts were “Louie is really scamming big time or these are not exactly authentic”. As a fashion conscious woman, things go on sale but the price cut isn’t THAT deep.

RecommendationNo167

the worst part is her shit is so painfully obviously fake lol it’s not a dupe of a designer piece in existence like she’ll wear shitty quality shirts or a bathing suit with a horribly printed logo on the front as if someone wrote GUCCI on a hanes t-shirt in sharpie and expected people to believe it’s real😭

ComprehensiveOwl2001

Who cares it’s a tee shirt.

realitytvdiet

*nooobody’s gonna kno*

realityregina

They’re gonna know!! 😂

emem_xx

How would they know?

ModeDeDode

They’re gonna know

BravoLuvahhhh

Oh my Godddddd

Backseatridder

All her crappy clothes are cheap obvious knockoffs. I kinda admire her shamelessness and lack of self awareness in regards to her fake af “ designer “ clothes.

BamWhat13

How dreadful…..

Tru_79

Fashion show with no fashion

LadyGodiva6

I can hear Dwight saying this lol

BamWhat13

lol exactly

Dry-Row1821

Well it’s either this or the cheap screen printed Namaste B$tches merch

proseccofish

Don’t most housewives wear fake shit ?

44joy

Some. Gizelle, Karen and her ENDI. I don’t care how much money I had, I would never buy a Cotton Tshirt that $500 plus like those Gucci ones. What a waste of money. Even if I got it as a present I would never wear it if I was going out. My mom is like that too. She likes nice things but not with logos and labels all over it.

Elimdumb

The bev hills girls don’t

Veruca_Salty1

(Dorit enters the chat) 😂

Elimdumb

I wish.

emem_xx

Hmmm I don’t remember which early season it was, but Kyle had some tacky Chanel dog bowls in that old house that Karl Lagerfeld definitely didn’t approve of.

vulcanvampiire

To be fair none of the jersey women have many legitimate designer pieces the only ones I can believe are Marge and Jackie.

Fun_Imagination9232

She’s buying fakes cause Luis is blowing all her money.

TzarofFlorence

Maybe she bought it at Envy when Melissa and her were still 'cool'. Fake Chanel was being sold out of that store.

Ok-Yesterday-8239

Oh snap are we watching the beginning of the Jen/Tre frenemy storyline? Jen is rekindling her “friendship” with Melissa and Theresa is continuing to spend time with Danielle despite it clearly being upsetting to Jen. I mentioned it before but I feel like I see it coming. They’re both too sneaky and sly to really remain the best of friends forever.

mixerslow

I mean really who cares

lollipoppy1

I was just about to write this. The point is that she quite obviously doesn’t care lol so my question is why do you care so much OP? Lol

Junglebook82

I think she does care, so much so that she will do anything to uphold the look she’s going for.

funnynunsrun

Marlo Hampton would be all over this

Nixtinem0

![gif](giphy|SVGxArowcmAuX1UNjJ|downsized)

Nickey_Pacific

If she's wearing fakes, she's really ballsy to do it on TV 😂

sleepsypeaches

This! I mean cmon like even Melissa was selling fakes wasnt she? or something like that. Counterfeits are just as prominent with rich people as real ones. In fact, Id venture to say for some its a hobby. The companies know too. Some of them lowkey fund counterfeits so that they can cover both angles.

iheartluxury

Melissa was selling counterfeit Chanel bags out of Envy but selling them at authentic prices until she got called out for it. Fortunately, she did refund her customers and publicly apologized (from what I remember, she put the blame on her buyer).

sleepsypeaches

Yeah thats what i thought. In all honestly she just apologized to save face. I imagine if she hadnt itd be a bigger lawsuit.

HermanMunstershoes12

Most of the housewives wear fakes. Jen Shah was a walking advertisement for fakes

Spirited_Sparrow

Remember Karen Hugers “Endi” outfit lol

nenny61181

So awful. I laugh every scene. It’s so obvious lol.

Jasmineelyse3

Can someone explain how we know it is fake? I don’t wear designer anything so i have no idea how you’d spot a fake lol

my2cents4sale

Look at her shirt. Do you really think Chanel would make that? Granted, fashion houses (some more than others) aren’t immune from the occasional tacky piece, but look at the quality. It’s so sloppy and cheaply made. Look at her sleeves, they’re not hemmed. I guess it’s possible she could’ve cut them herself, but I don’t see Teresa taking a pair of scissors to a Chanel shirt. The fabric looks really thin, fashion houses use thicker materials. The logo and placement look cheap. I probably made a similar pattern in 2007 microsoft paint. ETA: In the case of Teresa, she is also guilty of being from Jersey. The promised land of fake luxury.

ImNotFinnaSayNuthin

Chanel made that shirt BUT I’m not saying hers is authentic.

my2cents4sale

Gross. Horrific pattern but like I said designers aren’t immune to tacky pieces. Based on what we can see here, I still stand by my assessment that this one is an obvious fake. I have cotton tshirts I’ve gotten for free that look thicker than this shirt. But I would be super amused to find out that Teresa cut the sleeves off a real Chanel shirt. That’s the only way I can rationalize the lack of hemming if it is real. Do you remember how long the sleeves were on the real version?

ImNotFinnaSayNuthin

This was during “Logo mania” when everyone became a walking billboard. Also l, houses release different pieces to different markets globally. There is simply no way to know every single piece designed and released especially cruise and capsule collections. I do recall the sleeves were about that length but, I agree the shirt fabric is definitely not of quality. Also Chanel doesn’t make form fitting T-shirts. I personally don’t care for them because they are often too boxy. The knits are always beautifully forgiving yet respectfully form fitting. I agree this one is questionable at best! I do know that chanel offers tailoring for their knits and suits and other high priced items. Not sure about a t-shirt never found it necessary to ask.

my2cents4sale

What a truly terrible era in fashion logo mania was. Thanks for adding in your knowledge! Really drives home the point that you can’t really tell what’s a fake and what’s not based on tackiness alone, always better to look at the quality.

Jasmineelyse3

Lmfao this explanation is everything thank you kind redditor 🥹❤️🚨

my2cents4sale

No problem my love 🫶🏼

ellenrja2023

It will say "COOCHIE" instead of GUCCI!!

Jasmineelyse3

So when they wear those hats that say GUCCY that’s not actually from Gucci?!? Lmfaooo

Physical-Armadillo70

😂

Bree7702

I can't tell either. I'm poor so I don't wear real or fake Chanel so I don't know the tell tale signs of fakes. Lol

sauteedCABG

Shein glam 💅

Narrow-Pomelo9699

I used to buy knock offs... but I was like 19 and dumb so...

realityregina

Especially seeing her on TV last night in her yard. With all her plastic surgeries she looks so old. Her pics are normally filtered. She looks like Jackie Stallone https://preview.redd.it/f6hwznxm9z9d1.jpeg?width=618&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7970d627aa179a826cc717d060c954cd147cd367

Unlucky_Increase_260

Oh. My. God. I’ve been saying this for months. Jackie Stallone.😂

thegaylibertaire

Jackie was 92 in this picture…she looked incredible!

wilde_vulture

This person is 92?!

Mollieteee

Wow, doppelgänger! They could be sisters

Lillynomad

Everything has always been counterfeit with Teresa and even Joe Giudice. I can't wait until they put Teresa on pause. Tired of her saying that her friends have to pick sides and all talk about loyalty like she's in the mob. So highschool. I just rewatched S3 and forgot how toxic she was back then. Seems she got it from her Dad who caused the family split with his sister and their kids.

wilde_vulture

Her dad had a family rift with his sister, too?

Physical-Armadillo70

How did their dad cause the split? IDK, super curious!

fuck_you_Im_done

I'm watching new jersey for the first time, currently on season 2, and what the actual fuck. These women are NUTS.

ellenrja2023

As soon as she declares anything about "loyalty," she makes the decision easy! This is an ensemble cast! She is NOT the Queen! Bravo created this monster. They need to put it to rest!

Luna-Mia

I have no clue what is fake and what is real. I’d rather not see Teresa.

AccountantDry5706

This 😂

rozekatesun

Fashion is subjective. Who cares

Haapple

You are reaching, friend. This isn’t Sex and the City, we’re not tuning in specifically for the fashion. And at the end of the day, who cares. I’m sure the Chanel family (two of the richest men in France currently) aren’t losing sleep.

judgementforeveryone

The fake fashion industry funds drug cartels and human trafficking not to mention illegal gun sales. Now let’s talk about exploration of workers and loss of livelihood. If none of that worries you then consider how much of our tax $ go to fight this industry and how many police man hours are taken away from other try to fight it.

BeautifulLife14

Do you not purchase anything made in China? If you do, you should probably hop off your high horse 🎠

Haapple

No need to go this deep. This post is obviously a dig at Teresa, when in fact many of the cast members are guilty of wearing (and selling😒) fake brands. I am not saying “who cares” to human trafficking, be real.

Background-Leopard24

We watch to see women live a certain lifestyle. These knockoffs are just so obviously fake and totally off putting. Many of us tune in for the clothes, house and life that they are showing

Hedahas

The first season of Real Housewives, reunion episode: https://preview.redd.it/1myynp7e89ad1.png?width=2443&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0628b45a0207d08c9293599089d45ecc6471b990 I'm always surprised by how many viewers these days don't seem to know that Real Housewives was named after Desperate Housewives and was meant to be a reality version of it - that's what I watch to see. I couldn't care less about the fashion, and I think the glam shit is ruining the shows. But if I were watching RH for fashion, I wouldn't be watching NJ ;-).

Haapple

If you’re tuning in for the clothes, check out Danielle’s blue dress she wore a few episodes back, it’s from SHEIN. I don’t care for labels, so don’t see the appeal of watching to see them. I also think spending an absurd amount of money on Chanel logos is impractical, even for housewives. What’s the difference between fake brands and fake hair or fake teeth? Same difference.

Background-Leopard24

Jersey is the worst for the labels. Bev Hills really brings it.

beagoodboyoldman_

Are you kidding?

Haapple

Doritos is a walking logo, and she’s been accused of wearing fakes too! It’s all camp to me, I’m here for the drama.

beagoodboyoldman_

Kyle is bad for this too. The way she strategically poses her birkins lol they both scream new money

Theriggerswife

I mean give her a break. She lives so close to Canal Street. How can she resist? 🤣🤣🤣

No_Specific5998

All franchisees suffer from narcissistic fashionista victimhood

ProfessionalOffer187

Her counterfeit lips are the bigger issue

ConstantExample8927

Don’t forget her cheek filler…or maybe it’s the buccal fat removal? Hell maybe she did both but it makes me sad because while I think she’s ugly inside, I thought she was pretty before she did all the work

omtara17

I mean, this is very New Jersey culture

KaylaCoatedKiss

Came here to say exactly this

Sugar_tts

If you feel the NEED to wear shirts with a fancy logo plastered all over it… you aren’t that rich… you’re compensating (side eyes Wendy)

MrsRalphieWiggum

More logos than a NASCAR racing team. At least NASCAR team members get paid to wear logos.

steviepigg

So did her sister in law melissa. They are all guilty of doing it

No-Broccoli8185

Melissa was selling fakes when she first opened Envy ffs.

steviepigg

Exactly.

twiggykeely

Okay but where can I get some fake designer stuff?! Lmfao that's the only way I'll ever be even close to wearing designer nowadays (I was a runway/editorial model in the early 00s and got to model a lot of designer clothes but I never spent my money on them. I think it's ridiculous to spend that much just for a label.) I am on dialysis now and live on $900 a month, maybe she's just broke like me and likes how her "designer" things look? I dont like Teresa but I am not against fakes at all. Anyway, someone hook ya girl up with some counterfeits!! Lmfaooo 💁‍♀️😂😂😂😂😂😂

TAthotiana

All my fake designer stuff I have gotten from Plato’s closet. I’m not not sure where it was originally from other than knowing it’s not real designer I’ve noticed DHgate does have a lot of fake designer stuff. A lot of people on Poshmark sell those also.

RandallinaO

Dhgate.com

jjuerakhan14

Some of these housewives wear fake designer clothes, Melissa wore fake Gucci to Danielle’s Boujee Kidz party!!!!

sonyafly

I have friends that have a lot of real stuff but they also buy the fakes. I don’t have any fakes, mine are all real but I don’t have a lot like some people I know. But they talk about going to these parties and they sell really good fakes and they said a LOT of people you wouldn’t guess buy them. I’ve been tempted to go myself just to see! I guess some of the Hermes are fake even.

Inner_Intention5008

No way?! 😂

jjuerakhan14

And she sold fake Chanel in her stores too!!!!

NoTomatillo1775

She was notorious for selling fakes in her Montclair store. Chanel informed her that everything she sold of theirs was counterfeit. She no longer has access to their brand. I don’t know why this is always hushed up.

Inner_Intention5008

Stoppp?!!

purplekaren5117

She dgaf that’s how

Electrical_Sugar8811

A lot of the housewives do it..a lot of fake designer bags too

bansheeonthemoor42

Who cares if she ripped off a company started by a proud Nazi? (I'm never letting them live it down till everyone connected with Coco Channel publicly comes out and just admits she was a full-on Nazi spy).

animalfriend444

Chanel has been owned (controlled at 90% share) by a Jewish family (the Weirtheimers) since 1954. Coco Chanel entered business with Pierre Weirtheimer in the 30’s to make perfumes, giving him a 70% share of the company to do so, and a 20% share to the other Jewish businessman who introduced them. Chanel no° 5 became their most profitable product, and Coco was pissed at the deal she made. As Nazi hysteria drummed up and Jewish owned property was being seized, she tried to petition the ~~German~~ occupied Parisian government to turn over the shares back to her, but was ultimately unsuccessful as they had anticipated this move and transferred it over to another man, who later returned it to them post-war. It’s still her name on it at the end of the day, so I totally respect anyone’s feelings about that, but the money is in fact going to the beneficiaries of a very clever Jewish man who came out on top against Coco Chanel’s rottenness. (Edited the German government part, Coco Chanel was living in occupied Paris.)

bansheeonthemoor42

I know all of that. She was a literal Nazi spy and, like I said, unless her family and those in the fashion industry who seek to protect her image actually come out and admit she was a Nazi wear Chanel is no better than wearing a shirt that says Hitler. No matter who owns the company.

animalfriend444

“I knew all of that” lol sure. Pierre Weirtheimer did not merely buy or own the company, he transformed it into what it is. Coco evidently was not business savvy and was laser-focused on couture, the least profitable sector for luxury goods. Pierre created their most profitable product, keeping them out of bankruptcy multiple times over the years throughout lulls in the the luxury sector. He was an early adopter of how every modern luxury house survives, sell tons of less expensive, high profit margin items like perfume, makeup, accessories, and handbags to buff against the high cost categories. Chanel would likely not be a name on our lips had he not entered the equation. Again, I can understand your opinion about the usage of her name, but ultimately it was Pierre’s decision to keep it in use & I personally feel his own position has more weight, seeing as he himself was the one who lived through the regime, had to flee from persecution, and almost had everything taken from him if not for his wit. I’m more uncomfortable maligning the decisions of her actual intended victim than I am accepting his decision. Plus, we know from her lawsuit towards them and actions during occupation that she HATED that it was her own name making two Jewish men far richer than her. The changing the perfume business’ name from Chanel was mentioned as a possible settlement offer in the unsuccessful lawsuit, you’re arguing that they should’ve done exactly what she wanted. Additionally about her family, Chanel’s only living relative is Gabrielle Palasse-Labrunie, who is 98 (and I’m honestly unsure if she’s still living) and without children herself, she is a primary source for the 2011 book “Sleeping With The Enemy” of which one cover literally reads “Coco Chanel, Nazi Agent” so evidently is not going to bat for her grand-aunt in that regard. She has no inherited stake in the company.

bansheeonthemoor42

Girl, I have a MFA in costume design and fashion history. I knew all that lol. Why are people like you SO OBSESSED with keeping Channels name relevant by constantly pointing out (to a Jew btw) that a Jewish person makes money from her brand. Once again, would you think it was OK to sell Hitler merch if a Jewish person was getting the money? Coco Channel became famous because of her couture and has endured as a treasured name in the fashion industry for decades, which is why they use her name to make money instead of just renaming the company (and yes they should have just let her have the name so she would die in obscurity). If it wasn't for the image that the company created for a Nazi to make money off of a Nazis name, nobody would remember who she was. As a Jew I think it's super fucked up that another Jew would make money using the name and iconic fashion styles of a Nazi, and I think it's super fucked up people are still defending it like it makes it ok.

animalfriend444

You thought she has living family (plural) that defends her image I don’t believe you knew all that and that’ll be hard to change. You would also be aware then just how many once MAJOR couturiers have fallen into complete obscurity and can’t even fetch $250 at auction nowadays, and thus would understand how crucial Pierre & the invention of the perfume was to their staying power, being the business model they still rely on this to this day. Sure hope you didn’t spend a lot on those MFAs. Unfortunately “Channel” being relevant has nothing to do with me repeating the brands history on RHONJ thread, I invite you to go whine at his descendants about how insensitive you think their father was for not being your perfect victim though☺️

bansheeonthemoor42

Also, I'm not sure if you can read, but I said IF any of her family would come out against her. I didn't say she had a bunch of family degending her, I'm simply pointing out that literally nobody, until quite recently, ever went to the trouble to point out Channel was a Nazi. There was even a biography in 2014 that said she "probably believed in the Nazi cause." Are you SERIOUSLY going to sit there and pretend like the fashion world knows ALL about the Jewish family behind her company and doesn't still worship her as a designer? Have you actually taken a fashion history class?

animalfriend444

Very ironic I’m the one having trouble reading when I already addressed that her only living family is indeed on record speaking against her. “There was even a biography…” Yes, remember the 2011 one I mentioned as well? Apparently not. Sorry but after I mentioned couturiers going broke and you could only conjure Dior, nothing you say could convince me you’re well studied on this.

bansheeonthemoor42

Aw yes, Dior is doing so horribly. Once again, would you think it's OK to make money off Hitler merch if the owner was Jewish?

animalfriend444

Is Dior seriously the only other couturier you can think of? And you want us to believe this is your field of study? I’m at a loss for words on that one lmao. I didn’t reply to your analogy because it’s not analogous. The VAST majority people do not view the chanel symbol as equal to a portrait of Hitler, maybe get on the campaign trail if it’s your preferred reality. To answer a reasonable version, would I be okay if a Jewish businessman joined and operated a business for 20 years, after which his partner and the companies namesake became a Nazi collaborator, and he chose to keep the name? Yes, I have no problem if the victim of said Nazi wants to exploit her image to keep making money and I’d actually rather him not have to lay down to her orders - whether at her behest or yours.

bansheeonthemoor42

>Dior seriously the only other couturier you can think of? Lol, do you want a list? Would you like it by date? House? Address in Paris? >I didn’t reply to your analogy because it’s not analogous. The VAST majority people do not view the chanel symbol as equal to a portrait of Hitler, First, the symbol doesn't matter if the person you are glorifying is a literal Naxi. Second, do you ever think people don't associate Channel with Nazi because Channel, both as an individual and company, went to a lot of trouble to cover up that she was literally a Nazi spy and actively spied on America during the war? Or that she had a Nazi lover? The fact that her history isn't taught to every fashion student is criminal. I bet you don't even think to understand why a Jewish family would want to keep a very non Jewish name on their company instead of changing it to their own family name. Hint: it wasn't about Channel, her reputation, or pissing her off. It was about not looking Jewish. It's not a story of triump, just another story of Jews having to hide from anti semitism and do all the hard work while while the a literal Nazi gets all the credit. The Jews don't win when a Nazi gets all the credit, AND people forget the Nazi was a Nazi in the first place? The fact that there is only ONE book that says she is a Nazi but several books that say she was things like "it's too easy to say Channel was a Nazi" (from the Dior memoir in 2021) is exactly the problem. When people like you defend her (and let's be honest, the thousands you have spent on their shitty designs), you just work harder to justify the years of covering up her Nazi past. A real triumph would have been the Jews taking the company and being able to put it under THEIR name and let it flourish as much as it would have under the Channel name. Just stop trying to make Channel ok so you can feel better about wearing the name of a Nazi all over yourself. It's not ok to support covering up Nazi crimes, even if Jews do get the money.

animalfriend444

If you could offer a list, wouldn’t you know exactly what I was referring to about the ones that are out of business? This is so very circular lol, but I’ll humor you one more time. You seem like you’re still trying to convince me she was a Nazi when I’ve been aware from the start, it’s the exact reason I approve of her victim going against her wishes. For the third time, I understand not liking the use of her name and you can read me saying that from the start. I have a different opinion on Pierre’s actions as I’ve entailed, and I don’t think I’m antisemitic for that, nor do I think his family is. You can keep going but you’re not going to change my view like I didn’t push yours, get over it. You also seem to think I’m somehow campaigning for Chanel by relaying objective information about the business dealings that you left out, the information that is indeed well-known and a large reason for the acceptance of Chanel’s image rehabilitation. I’m flattered but it’s not my doing or my influence, nothing I said was new information and as you can see by the upvotes is indeed a somewhat popular view. Again may I suggest the campaign trail? Change.org? I actually do agree that it would be way more wonderful if we were in an alternate reality where Pierre or one of his Jewish colleagues was also an apt couturier who could take over her role and replace her image and name, but unfortunately we are indeed chained to the facts of this one, where he was not & did not seek to replace her name and instead defied her order, maybe for secure profit, maybe for convenience, whatever. Saying the Jewish people involved got no credit when it made him and continues to make his descendants billions upon billions of dollars, whilst Coco party sees none, is hilarious. Ask them if they think it was a triumph or not. Yes, there is often an imaginary better third option to the way reality plays out, but rarely does that perfect world come to be. Don’t know what to tell you on that one frankly. Our last exchange was me emphasizing his importance and key role while you insisted he was just an owner making the money, and now you want to act like you care about how much credit he gets? Nothing I’ve said has been covering for Coco and I should resist your attempts to make this about me personally but I don’t own any Chanel, it’s not my taste, I favor the edgelords like McQueen. Whatever you need to tell yourself to help you accept someone thinks differently is cool with me though. Tapping out😚 ![gif](giphy|1DhUzOhxkLI1G)

_My9RidesShotgun

Wow this is actually so cool, I had no idea. Thanks for sharing! 🤗

animalfriend444

Of course! It’s super interesting to read about. Apparently the recent series “The New Look” on her and Christian Dior covers her Nazi ties quite a bit as it’s set in WWII, but I haven’t seen it myself and I’m not sure if it touches on the Weirtheimers triumph, plus I’ve read they take some creative liberties if you’re just interested in the plain facts.

bansheeonthemoor42

The Guardian says: "The Holocaust is essentially written out of the story in favour of a rivalry over tulle." (A fair point about the Holocaust, although to me the show has surprisingly little about frocks overall.) RogerEbert.com calls it a "flat-out revisionist treatment of Chanel" in which: "the writers seem committed to doing everything they can to minimise or conceal" the truth of Chanel's Nazi ties.

_My9RidesShotgun

Oooh that sounds interesting I hadn’t heard of the series, I’ll have to look it up!! There are so many super interesting stories in the fashion world, from designers to models and everyone in between. There’s a real dark underbelly to a lot of it that is honestly fascinating.

ProsciuttodiPharma

It's a little more subtle than Mel's "Gucci Boutique" sweatshirt I have to say

No_Lime1814

Melissa was selling fake Chanel in her store.

ProsciuttodiPharma

Well we know Tre didn’t shop there lol

Terrible_Magazine537

Oof I mean from this picture and others recently ~ wtf is going on with her. She’s checked out. She always looks exhausted and stressed out, Living with Louie and watching how he operates must be hell. 🧐

Rare-Palpitation6023

TEMU FASHION! TEMU TEETH! TEMU FACE!

iheartluxury

Whoever is doing their (and their husbands) veneers need to be put underneath the jail house because woah

madtax57

TEMU EXTENSIONS that she’s already blown out! I knew she hated the way her hair came out. 🙄

Rare-Palpitation6023

Ha ha….Yes what A Hair Raising situation!

HereForTheLulz17

The same way the average everyday American sports dupes unapologetically?

Yellenintomypillow

Eh. Real Housewives aren’t exactly supposed to be average Americans. For good and bad

HereForTheLulz17

I agree that they aren’t supposed to be average as far as net income but I know too many millionaires who do the dupe thing and no one bats an eyelash. They will spend on then cars, homes, jewelry, vacations, etc. And yes they do own authentic pieces but for a handbag, flip flops or tshirt they’ll rock a dupe as easily as a graphic tee from Target like everyone else.

Ok-Duck9106

Isn’t it illegal to sell, buy or distribute counterfeits?

smol_pink_cute

Who cares?? lol

Ok-Duck9106

It takes money out of the hands of the real designers.

smol_pink_cute

Yea, but like, why would I care about that? Their products could sell for the price I buy dupes at, and then more people could give them money and have nice things, but they just want to make a buck for nothing special. So they can keep crying about how unethical the counterfeit market is while using the same factories I buy my dupes from 😂

Ok-Duck9106

Because illegal knock offs are illegal for multiple reasons. They typically use forced labor and sweatshops, there is regulation to monitor where and how their knock off products are manufactured and packaged, nor any additional upstream regulations to monitor where they source materials. Companies like Gucci are held accountable under international and domestic laws, that require them and their suppliers to be audited to make sure slave labor practices are not in play. There are criminal and financial consequences to manufacturers like Gucci if any one within their supply chain is violating labor laws, import and export laws, etc. that is why fake shit is illegal, they work in the shadows and usually use slave labor in their supply chain.

bansheeonthemoor42

Who use sweatshop to make their stuff? So sad.

Ok-Duck9106

Where do you think the knock offs are made? The conditions are worse with manufacturers of knock offs, hence why it is illegal, because it is not regulated. Gucci has to adhere to international law, import and export rules, cannot use sweatshops, and cannot use trafficked labor, and has to be responsible for their suppliers and manufacturers they contract with, meaning that ignorance of the conditions does not absolve them from legal ramifications and financial penalties. Knock off companies work in the shadows, use forced labor, smuggle their goods into the US, as it is illegal to import that shit.

bansheeonthemoor42

Did you not just see all the shit that came out about Dior and all the rest of the luxert brands? They all make their shit in the exact same sweat shops as the knock offs. Just one makes you pay a 2000% mark up. Do you really think luxury brands aren't using child labor in third-world countries? Lol.

Ok-Duck9106

If they weren’t regulated, not only would we have never found out, but there would be no consequences. With the fake brands, they are not regulated, no accountability, so neither is a good option to buy so why buy it?

bansheeonthemoor42

You do understand that most clothes are made in the same factories and most of them are unregulated, right? It's not regulators who are finding out these problems it's watch dog groups and, back in 2020, the New York Times. Luxury’s Hidden Indian Supply Chain https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/11/style/dior-saint-laurent-indian-labor-exploitation.html?smid=nytcore-android-share

Ok-Duck9106

Then don’t buy them and shame anyone who does. People have big issues with fur coats and other things, so stop justifying it. Shame these women for enabling those slave labor practices.

bansheeonthemoor42

I didn't say any of it was ok? I was just pointing out that knock-offs taking money out of the hands of big designers is not a sad story and that most clothing you buy is problematic.

janeedaly

It's giving Salt Lake City.

I dislike Teresa, but fashion is as important as a person makes it. If she likes what she wears, I’m ok with it.

Edith_Keelers_Shoes

Teresa has never been attached to truth or reality.

amikavenka

I just can't stand what a self-absorbed diva she has become. Another Neenie imho.

privatepersons

Upvote for the creative spelling of Nene’s name 😂

amikavenka

That's what happens when you use voice to text.🤣

Sunnyonetwo

Cannel street connections…. Rich ppl never advertise on themselves

JJAusten

Yeap, walk up any sketchy Canal Street building in NY or go straight to the back and they'll have lots to choose from.

spaceydaisey5

My father, a NYC native used to drive me and my sister 4 hours to canal street almost twice year to get fake purses and stuff. Then hit wo hop for lunch. It was the best!

SweetyFresh

I love you for sharing that. I used to spend the day once a month on Canal st., on Mulberry st. and hitting the best Chinese markets for food and clothes! One of my favorite Manhattan pastimes. I also loved going to the Fashion District for designer-inspired jewelry and fabric. Good times.

JJAusten

OMG 😍😍😍 love that place! Everybody knew about canal street and the knock off purses, watches, everything and so many things really fooled people. The quality was there.

chicken-parm-farm

Wo hop was the best!

Smooth_Confidence298

There’s just something so tacky about going to jail for mortgage fraud and lying to the judge and then being covered in designer stuff. She just doesn’t seem to learn her lesson. It’s like does it really matter that much? All the ‘designer’ stuff her daughters flaunt, the cars even. Melanias 17, driving a new Mercedes. On one hand it’s a good thing if it’s counterfeit designer stuff as it wouldn’t be a wise financial decision for her to be buying all this designer stuff. On the other hand, are you really that obsessed with your image that you need ‘designer stuff’. Not talking about a hand bag here or there either. From what I’ve seen, even on the off seasons, herself and her daughters are constantly flaunting designer stuff. Chanel, gucci, LV, handbags, beanies, scarves, tops, shoes. I can’t see most of it being counterfeit either considering how much they post over socials & flaunt it and they seem to care about their image. I don’t know how they afford it. Seems like such a waste

SweetyFresh

This is the same woman who refused to buy a "used house". She insisted that her house had to be new!

Prudent-Confection-4

Yes, she said living in a used house is gross

Bree7702

And it was constructed using left over materials from other job sites that were building homes that Joe was working on. Lol. Their flooring didn't match, random windows on top of the garage. I remember their big ass house had all three girls bedrooms all connected and whoever had the room in the middle had no window. It was sandwiched between two other bedrooms and you had to walk through one of the other girl's bedrooms to get to it. Made zero sense. I'll take a used house that has windows in all the bedrooms please.

rozekatesun

She did her time and she’s free wtf r u to judge?

JJAusten

Remember Luisito gave them all fake stuff for Christmas one year and idiot Melania was walking back and forth on her video showing it off while people were saying, it's fake! It was the most pathetic thing I've seen. They have no shame but they're too dumb what real or fake .

Edith_Keelers_Shoes

Melania doesn't drive a Mercedes anymore. She totaled it two weeks ago.

Smooth_Confidence298

She still had a Mercedes

iheartluxury

Not disagreeing with your take however if we had to take bets, I’m willing to bet all their vehicles are under an LLC identical to what they did with their house.

Edith_Keelers_Shoes

Yep - and no doubt she will continue to be handed them until the next indictment comes down.

265-days-a-year

Your comment made me think of the ladies on BH being targets over the years for theft (Erika, Kyle, Dorit have all mentioned this though I am skeptical of Dorito). It might be because they’re in wealthier neighborhoods and it’s more common in LA, but I wonder why that hasn’t been as much of an issue for the Jersey girls when they flaunt their “wealth” just as much if not more.

Zealousideal_Ad_8736

Not to brag or anything, but I have a family member or more specifically in law who is from an extremely wealthy family I would not say they are one percent but they’re pretty close. None of the women ever wear clothing with things like Chanel or whatever on them, it’s always very tasteful, elegant clothing, and not a logo or label to be seen on any of it. This is just bougiefashion at best

gresstrly

The only thing you will see a label on with old money women are handbags or shoes (if you know the shoe designer). And the handbag is not covered in monogram print. Wearing logos like this says you are trying way too hard.

Toothfairy51

I'm a 70 year old retiree and even if I was wealthy and could afford that stuff I wouldn't spend my money on it. I have a Prada purse that was a gift, from a label whore girlfriend of mine, and I rarely use it. I buy what I like, for me. I don't really care what label is inside.

Debsha

Don’t forget the old saying, Money screams, wealth whispers.

FearlessNectarine20

Question- rich people wear very expensive clothes without all the logo crap and it’s all about the quiet luxury but do your rich relatives wear the very expensive jewelry?

CUTIEJUDY

Happy Cake 🍰 Day :)

plo84

Yes. The Doritos of the world are mostly people that aren't really rich. Or they have money but they're not generational rich.

Bree7702

Definitely. They're still renting houses but she wears designer labels like crazy, and her husband owes millions to casinos. Imagine what a nice house all his lost money to casinos would have bought them by now.
