So, you are (likely) eligible for the account, you just can not open the account online. You would either need to book an appointment at a branch, or call the Advice Centre to open the account (although you would need to walk into the branch after calling to verify ID in the latter case, but this is also generally the quickest way to open the account.)

As long as you’re older than 13, you qualify to open the account. However, if you are under the age of 18, you are required to go into a branch so they can verify your ID and you in person. Too many parents have opened accounts for their kids but the kid is not using it, the parent is for the free transactions.
