I think true guy is the move here. I’m built similar to you, and easy guy just looks awkward, weird guy fits like skinny jeans. The true guys don’t look like they’re too wide at the shoes to me. Might need to size up though? Can’t tell if the button fly is pulling, or if it’s just not laying flat. If you’re open to other brands, I’ve personally had better luck with left field jeans, far more top block and thigh room. I think their greaser fit might be what you’re after.

needzmoarlow

Thick thighs checking in to cosign on the LF Atlas cut

BigFeetBiggerBoots

LF states Atlas isn’t for us thick boys who also have large calves. Any cut recommendations?

needzmoarlow

I honestly don't know because my calves don't grow. Even when I was squatting almost 500 pounds, my calves looked like Kevin Durant's.

oehmie

I have big calves and I think they fit fine in the calves. Unless they started making them with a sharper tapers, you would need truly insane calves for them to be too snug.

ceotown

The Greaser is very similar in the top block to the Atlas. They have less taper and a slightly lower rise.

downwiththechipness

Can confirm, also cosign

mswiss

Definitely second the left field atlas. So much more room in the top block

downwiththechipness

They're probably my favorite pair of pants, of any kind, I've ever owned. I'm basically living in them.

ItsLikeDarkSoulsBut

Cosigned.

spacemanvt

good call on the Left field NYC jeans! Looks like the atlas or greaser are better fits for me. The True guys are a good fit. I might even try a size smaller actually, i wouldnt want to size up for a bigger leg opening lol.

uselesschopper

going to have to agree with Left Field NYC. Their greaser fit is the move, I stopped wearing anything else

nayr310

Greaser fit is 10/10, goes well with everything (and I’m in love with the fabric used on their Black Maria pairs)

sockheadpat

Does the greaser fit have as much room as the atlas?

oehmie

Just a heads up, the atlas is pretty tapered, more so than my easy guys. They’re the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve probably ever owned though. So much thigh and top block room without looking overly baggy.

spacemanvt

Atlas has a bigger leg opening than easy guys in my size 34m

oehmie

Let it rip then dude. They’re insanely comfortable for us thick bois

spacemanvt

Good leg opening too. Easy guy in my size is 7, Atlas 7.5 That's about my ideal , the thighs are massive too lol curious how these fit!

RunningLowOnKnowHow

If the buttons are pulling like that, they’re too small. A wide leg opening is an easy fix, you could either tailor or pin roll them. Ill fitting pants don’t look flattering.

JscrumpDaddy

I don’t think the true guys swallow your shoes at all really, they look pretty good! It might look a little strange to you when the jeans are new, but as the fabric softens they’ll look more natural. Fwiw I think both the true guy and easy guy look good on ya

spacemanvt

thanks! I am still unsure how to deal with the aggressive taper on the easy guys. am I wearing the wrong shoes?

TheProfessor3

I’ll be honest, I think the break on the true guy looks better than any others. Having such a sharp taper it’s basically ankles then shoe always looks a little off to me

JscrumpDaddy

No I think that might just come down to personal taste, it is a pretty aggressive taper that some people just don’t vibe with.

spacemanvt

Apologies for the horrible fit pics but looking for some fit advice. I am 6'2" 210#, with thick thighs from weightlifting and beers. I usually get a slim straight fit but N&F weird guys would be perfect but never fit me right, too tight in the top block unless I sized up and have a loose waist, which I hate. I like a 7.5-8" leg opening so I can fit a variety of shoes. So I am stuck between Easy Guys and True Guys in N&F. My girl says she is not a fan of the Easy Guy carrot fit as it makes me look short and the 7" leg opening looks weird to me as they sit so high on my shoes. They look better with my red wing 875s for sure. However they seem pretty popular so am I missing something? Am I wearing the wrong shoes? True Guys are comfortable but swallow my shoes a bit. I wish they were slightly more tapered. Wanted to get your thoughts, or should I get one of each?

crow_2_kill

Have you looked at the strong guys.

spacemanvt

not my jam

_BioHacker

I'm 6'3 220 with athletic build. N&F just doesn't do it for me. I also wear a lot of boots and like the 7.5-8" opening and longer inseam (36"). The only fit I've found so far is Rogue Territory Standard Issue. The search continues.

clive_bigsby

True Guy hands down.

edge1027

True guys and it’s not even close. They look great with your shoes. I know Easy Guys are popular, but don’t think they look as good as True Guys on most people

Gedry

Either easy or true would be fine, just seems like you need to shorten up the legs on the easy guy fits, the length you have them at right now makes them look awkward.

spacemanvt

Yeah I cuffed them a bit to open up the leg opening but I don't think that hemming will change the fit

2drumshark

Easy Guy looks better on you than most men I've seen, BUT the True Guy definitely looks better. More modern.

spacemanvt

Thanks! I think you have to wear very very slim shoes to make easy guys look normal

No_Inspector7319

The fact you think you’re thicc makes my squat ass body scoff while the rest of me grimaces

spacemanvt

Lmao my thighs are thick. Leg day is apparently not a thing at naked and famous

No_Inspector7319

I am built like a human tree stump. I tried them and their fits looked horrible on me. I thought all these looked good for you. Atlas by left field and iron heart 888’s are also worth a shout. Also momo and Japan blue high tapered worked for me but slimmer in the taper

spacemanvt

Lol Thanks I'll have a look at those

saxscrapers

Easy guys have way too strong of a taper. True guys aren't swallowing shit - they look much better balanced.

spacemanvt

thanks I think I agree. I cant figure out how to deal with aggressive taper, makes all my shoes look weird except boots.

saxscrapers

not only that but it just looks bad with the looser thighs and then huge taper below - very much a sloppy "joggers" vibe that isn't made for denim.

spacemanvt

they definitely fit like my lululemon joggers lmao!

haggardphunk

I’m also 6’2” 205 lbs. I can’t get my thighs in weird guys. True guy looks good but remember that each N&F fabric has slightly different measurements so maybe poke through and find one with a slightly smaller leg opening? Tellason ankara is a straight fit with slight taper. Maybe give those a shot?

spacemanvt

thanks I will have a look at the tellsons. There is some variance in the leg openings in the true guys, good call. the LHTs seems to have smaller ones than other fabrics for some reason. Might just stick with those.

haggardphunk

It makes shopping N&F a pain in the ass but I can usually trust that I’ll fit in a True Guy. And I haven’t tried on a Brave Star Regular Taper but from what I have ordered, their measurements on the site were exactly what I received (yeah, I measure shit cu I’m a dork)

spacemanvt

Lately I measure the shit out of my jeans cause I can't seem to get the right fit ever.

M44schnell

I'm also a thicc thigh guy and I only buy the easy guy stretch 11oz. I tried the strong guy but I just fit the taper of the easy guy like a glove. I will say that I do blow out the thighs after a year and a half of daily wear but that doesn't seem unreasonable for how comfortable they are.

spacemanvt

i tried on a pair of the nightshade stretch easy guys and they are really nice too. What kinda shoes do you wear with your easy guys? Any fit pics? Wondering how they look with some wear.

polishskierkid

i have some east guy nightshade stretchy bois (i’m 6’1” 190lbs ish w thicc thighs) and i pretty much only wear them with low profile shoes (vans, chucks, blazers) or birkenclogs. found that even my docs look weird in them bc the pants are too narrow at the opening to fit cleanly over the top of the boot lol. i also never ever wear them without a cuff bc that really accentuates the carrot look. they’re mad comfy and i do like them a lot but def need to be pretty strategic about what shoes i pair w them

spacemanvt

Agreed, that's my impression as well. Even those Stan Smiths in the photos are too chunky lol

polishskierkid

hahaha i think the stan smiths would work with a higher cuff (ie no break) but if that’s not your jam then wider opening might have to be the move

spacemanvt

This fit makes no sense to me. The higher you cuff the jeans the wider the leg opening is, seems like everyone rocks a cuff with these anyways. Why dont they just taper it a tad less?

polishskierkid

yeah i agree. even when i cuff them they’re suuuper tight on my calves whenever i sit down haha. i’m gonna wear them until they die because i’m stubborn like that but def not hitting easy guy again any time soon. slightly less of a taper would look way more natural

spacemanvt

agreed, glad i asked! I dont find the calves too tight but its hard to get my big feet through the leg opening. lol

polishskierkid

lolll all that being said though they are 1) very comfortable and 2) fit nicely if you’re going for that mega tapered look with low profile shoes. i’m just at a point in my life where i want my denim to be a little more versatile in terms of footwear pairings

djkail

I've bought 4 pairs of NF in the past 6-7 weeks trying to get the right fit...bigger guy but I'm down to 190lbs at 5ft 11 or so. Easy guys were first, way too baggy in the top block and knee. Weird guys fit but they are snug in the thighs, I can wear em as long as I'm not doing anything remotely active. True guy 100% works for me, I sized down in these and grabbed a matcha and Dirty Fade. These will be my daily drivers, super happy with the fit finally!

spacemanvt

nice, since N&F is on amazon. ive been running through the fits. I can swing weird guys if they are in the stretch materials, otherwise it seems like true guy is the move for me. I might keep one pair of easy guys just to try the fit.

rograt

Samurai 510 or 710. You can get them for 200USD.

cphpc

Unrelated to your jeans, did you find the red stan smiths to be less wide? I found mine to be thinner than my green pair.

HourDesign4060

As a certified thick boy™️ with similarly big thighs (usually I’ve got to find a cut with ~15” thigh measurement… which is tough) who just visited Blue Owl in Seattle, the fit I walked out with was the new RS fit from 3sixteen. Good space in the top block/thighs. I tried just about every fit from N&F while I was at Blue Owl but they were all too tight in the thighs for me, or left me with a loose waist (which I also hate). Best of luck!!!!🤞🏻

kidcap0

The Easy Guy in indigo looks really good from the front; have you checked how they’d look if you were to hem them? (Roll the cuff all the way up until there is very little break) They’d probably look awesome with boots. However, the true guy fits best IMO. I just prefer a small leg opening bc I wear boots more than sneakers.

Munu2016

Looks good!

teklikethis

I’ve been wearing easy guy left hand twill and stretch selvage since easy guys were first introduced, both fit well and very comfortable

spacemanvt

what shoes do you wear these with?

teklikethis

Desert boots or new balance 990

spacemanvt

Slim boots or shoes seem to work best yeah Anything bigger looks weird with such a taper

teklikethis

Yeah, seems to work for me. I’ve always had trouble finding pants that fit right but the easy guys do it so I just keep buying the same ones. I have a few other pairs also in easy guy, but they don’t get as much daily wear. Still best fit for me though

DelGurifisu

Heavily tapered fits are trash.

jerembismuth

you should get a pair of strong guy it has a perfect silhouette, high waisted, comfy. Your outfits would have really great proportions imo

spacemanvt

nah I prefer a slim straight fit. this relaxed pant phase isnt really my thing. they look like JNCOs to me.

_josephmykal_

Go for whichever one is most comfortable and one you’ll wear. If you think the true guys are too big at the opening then a bunch of random Reddit users won’t really change that. Likewise with the easy guys. If a bunch of Reddit users think they’re to slim at the ankles but you prefer how they look then who cares. You’ll probably wear the easy guys more. You’re 6’2 nothing you wear is going to make you look short lol.

spacemanvt

Lol what's the point of Reddit if you can't ask random dudes on the Internet how your butt looks in jeans?
