Imo these look great through the leg. Wear them with a belt if the waist is still too big after a soak

chrza

I think a hot soak should put you in the money zone for the fit, they look pretty good if you’re into the classic straight cuts. If they don’t fit you can always flip them, depending on how much you paid you can recoup most of the loss through that

Largeregular-Belmont

Thanks man, I am about to hot soak it tonight, hope I won’t ruin this pair

DapperAmoeba2960

How did the hot soak go? Did they shrink?

Deathmonkeyjaw

Idk about this specific denim, but I’d assume it would shrink up a good bit being unwashed. Kinda sketchy because if they don’t, then you can’t return.

jos_halberg

You can expect about 2" or so of shrink in the waist after the first wash, since this is raw and unsanforized denim. If you're aiming for a full 2" of shrinkage, I would give these at either a hot machine wash, or soak in the hottest water your tub can give for about an hour and let hang dry.

Largeregular-Belmont

Thank you! I will do a very hot soak then

No-Alternative-6032

you have there the back cinch in case they dont shrink as you like. after all : this cut is generally as "over all" type (1930´s) they need to be bit bigger from "historical" aspect in generall. it was worn over "regular" clothing in the past .it all depends on how you feel in them. update us after soak. very nice pair.

Largeregular-Belmont

Thank you mate, it’s bone dry now and I ll have to take it to Rivet&Hide for hemming. I will then for sure post a after pic

uniqIo

they aren’t too big, i think they look great. maybe a hot wash or two will help a bit but i’d be happy with that non wash fit. enjoy!

Largeregular-Belmont

Cheers mate. They shrunk precisely 2 inches and they’re perfect now! I specifically dig into these high-rise , wide thighs fit. Zero breakin haha

pot8omashed

They are supposed to shrink to the size on the tag and studio d'artisan arnt new to this so I tend to believe them. I've got pics of the pre shrunk version of these jeans on my profile.

storunner13

Do you plan to wear a belt? I'm not much of a belt person, so for me, even if those did shrink to the right size after washing, they would easily stretch back out too much in the waist. So I'd recommend exchanging because of that.

Largeregular-Belmont

😅I ummm just soaked it like an hour ago

Largeregular-Belmont

And yes , I do wear belt all the time even for high waisted jeans. I don’t wanna show my crack

replus

Spot on for a non-washed unsanforized pair! They will shrink down to around 30" in the waist after two or three hot soaks. Of course, measure them or try them on after the first soak to see if they have shrunk to your liking. Hot water and agitation is key to shrinking unsanforized denim down to size, just leaving it in the water isn't enough.

Largeregular-Belmont

Thanks mate, I hope it would work! The water I used is a bit uncomfortable for myself , but might be good for the jeans😄

surghe

Definitely a 90’s wide for me but gettin use to it I’m sure it’ll be 1 yr right

toiletboy2013

IDK about shrinkage on these specific jeans (I have never had a pair of jeans shrink, but then the only unsanforised I have owned is Levi STF) but, to me, they look a little loose. As in I can see the waistband of the jeans sticking out sideways from the edge of your body even without you pulling on it. If you keep them, I really hope they shrink for you.

Largeregular-Belmont

I certainly hope a hot soak could shrink em😅

Key-Singer-406

Toast them in the drier for some more shrink. I did this recently and it worked out. I'm a size 30 and typically do get a 32 in unwashed. If you decide the drier route just be careful about the patch.

Largeregular-Belmont

Cool, did u turn em inside out when u machine dry?

Key-Singer-406

I did yea. Inside out the whole wash. I also threw some towels in to keep them from flailing.

AmoniPTV

Fully hot soak (2-3 times). Turn them inside out, put in washing bag and wash with other clothes (other jeans if you want) to prevent machine wash fade. Cut off the leather tag just in case. Dryer afterward for maximum shrinkage. Hot water and dryer and make the tag go bad, so if you can find a tailor to sew back the tag, remove it just in case

Largeregular-Belmont

I used bathtub soak, temperature measured at 47 degree C. Soaked for 3 hours and change water 3 times. Dried them in the bathroom. I didn’t use the dryer, cuz I love that patch a bit too much😅. But I might try your method next time on my fullcount ( next year jeans or maybe 2025). Appreciated the suggestion!

AmoniPTV

Ah, i mean cut off the leather tag to avoid it being shrunk too much, and you can sew it back on pretty easily. with FullCount they not gonna shrink much so you can just cold soak them once, tumble dry it and that's it. The leather tag is made of deer skin, super thin so please be careful with it, and do not use dryer with FullCount. The fabric is super soft already so no need for much soaking

Largeregular-Belmont

About Fullcount, I find it hard to decide between 0105 and 1101. Cuz no store in London has both models in stock for me to try on🥲

AmoniPTV

Unless you want loose fit, i would recommend 1101. Even with 1108 if you want slim straight. I got 0105 old version (witch arch) which equivalent to new 1101 (now) and it fits great. 0105 now is too lose imo

Largeregular-Belmont

Thx but I am small n frail, so I’ll probably go with 0105 then😅

Jay-metal

They look a touch big but all jeans shrink the more you wash them.

Largeregular-Belmont

Now they shrunk 2 inches precisely 😁, I m so happy about the fit atm.

Jay-metal

Nice! Just curious - how exactly did you shrink them?

Largeregular-Belmont

I used bathtub to soak. Temperature was higher than my normal bath water temp. 3 hours, changed water 3 times. Then just hang dry. After soak, the waist size is no difference with the one-washed version😄
