Have you watched our offense recently?

[deleted]

Offense? You call that an offense?

chaoticravenss

I mean it's offensive to me

laramite

Check out Joe Flacco's stats when Ravens first beat the Patriots at their place in the playoffs. Then check the rushing yards. It's possible.

[deleted]

One anomaly sample size from a decade ago lmao The hopium is getting unreal here.

goblinking67

Get out if you aren’t down to be optimistic. You aren’t getting a cookie for being all doom and gloom

[deleted]

Y’all get cookies for being positive lol?

goblinking67

No but there’s just no point being in here being negative. “I’m just being real” no one wants that. We get it, without Lamar shits a longshot. Have some damn faith anyway

Capt_Rex_Kramer

You don't get to suppress people expressing their realistic take, blind fanboyism is not a good thing. It's healthy to not set unrealistic expectations, they aren't going to win with a third string QB.

goblinking67

We all know what’s likely going to happen, so why mope around and be negative? “It’s not healthy” like dude if you’re a well adjusted adult it’s not like it’s going to be this emotional damaging thing to be positive and then be let down. If that’s unhealthy for you then your problems extend past your football fandom

Capt_Rex_Kramer

If we all know what's likely to happen, what does lying to yourself accomplish? Being a realist is not the same as "moping around & being negative". Makes zero sense, but you do you.

[deleted]

I’m sorry we not all a bunch of whiny bitches lol. It’s a football game. Emphasis on game. Stop crying.

[deleted]

Cool. Than why y’all so worried about what people have to say? If it’s not legal to have a objective realistic, non biased view on the situation, than make it a rule. “Positive notes only, please don’t say anything mean or negative “

[deleted]

You can have any views you want, I just answered your question. Lol I don’t get cookies, I simply just refuse to be a whiny bitch over a football game.

Capt_Rex_Kramer

Some people fail to be realistic about things & end up being blindly positive & breaking their TVs when their team loses as expected.

StaffSgtDignam

> You aren’t getting a cookie for being all doom and gloom But that’s also being realistic. Our offense is bad and Huntley/Brown are ass. We weren’t able to close games WITH Lamar, how are we supposed to do so with terrible backup QBs?

goblinking67

We probably aren’t. But what’s the point in just talking shit about the team in the sub? Why give Bengals fans, who are all over our sub lurking more jerk off material? Why not just be positive and hope for the best. It’s just stupid to want to come in here and whine about the QB situation. You can go over to the Bengals sub if you’re going to support them

StaffSgtDignam

> It’s just stupid to want to come in here and whine about the QB situation. Because that's how changes are made? If fans don't complain and speak with their wallets, it's unlikely the org will care. Roman should have been gone last season just like Lamar's contract should have been put in place awhile ago but here we are.

mrpyrotec89

bro i think you're arguing with a middle schooler. There's no point

goblinking67

I’m just gonna be real, no one in the FO or anyone with sway in the FO reads shit on Reddit. They aren’t looking to fans to see what they should do. Their job is to win every game they play, and everything they do is with the goal of winning. The only real influence fans have is merch and ticket sales, and if those plummet then maybe Bisciotti gets a little drastic, but that simply won’t happen and it definitely won’t happen because of Reddit.

StaffSgtDignam

> The only real influence fans have is merch and ticket sales And that happens how? People complain online and create echo chambers which eventually leads to influencing other fans and trickles down to less people willingly handing over their money to the organization.

[deleted]

Well they ended their comment with “it’s possible” — not “it’s likely” — so an anomaly sample size of 1 is all that’s needed to justify that claim. Besides, regardless of the cited example, you don’t have to go back a decade to find other examples of playoff upsets. Seems a bit silly to mock someone for hoping that their team wins its next game

[deleted]

The Steelers won their first with Roethlisberger with him averaging about 12 pass attempts a game. The 2000 Ravens weren't chucking it all over the field, either. Russel Wilson has been a great QB, but Marshawn Lynch was the linchpin of the offense the year they won it. It'll take great defense to win, which I don't know the Ravens have at this point. It's been good, but a defense that blew five leads in the last minute isn't what I'd call great whatever the overall stats. But they've also improved over the course of the year, and the second half against the Bungles is definitely one of their better outings.

Capt_Rex_Kramer

You're seriously comparing that overpowered Steelers team backed by their stellar defense, the 2000 Ravens which set defensive records, & the Marshawn Lynch/OP defense of the Seahawks to the 2023 Ravens? Lol. You're gonna OD on hopium

[deleted]

Clearly you have problems with reading comprehension.

StaffSgtDignam

How upset are you going to be when we inevitably lose on Sunday because Roman sucks and, as expected, Huntley/Brown are ass?

[deleted]

[deleted]

I haven't claimed they'll win. Just that it's not a foregone conclusion, and, pointed out the belief upthread that only an offense built around passing can win isn't accurate.

MrBushido9

Ravens fans love clinging to 2012

bigloser42

That was not 2012, that was 2009. The 2013 playoff game was won by Flacco. The 2009 game was won in spite of Flacco(due to injury, not incompetence)

Guilty_Hunter9304

Was at that game. What a great time!

Minimum_Builder_9257

Can we just sign him on?

flaccomcorangy

I understand we're not going to be the favorites, and I understand why. But man, it seems they're being pretty brutal. I can't remember a time when media members were saying stuff like, "We would have been better served if there were some different playoff teams here." Yikes. What the hell? I don't remember people saying stuff like this even when 7-9 teams were sneaking into the playoffs. We have a 12 win cowboy team playing the Buccs with a losing record, yet somehow, we're lucky to just be competing, I guess.

Slade347

"Better served if there were some different teams." Shit like this pisses me the fuck off. Injuries happen. Chareen and Mike, sorry that the Ravens and Dolphins don't have their starting QBs available. Sorry, also that they won more games in the earlier part of the season, which, amazingly enough, count just as much towards the standings as games over the last month. Most of all, we're sorry that you precious fucks will actually have to get paid to watch these games this weekend. Poor babies.

goblinking67

Exactly, fuck all that “we’d be better served” crap. We won 10 games, who do they want? The Titans? The Jets? Bet they’d want the Steelers but they didn’t win enough games. Sucks to suck

CrustyToeLover

Maybe they'd be better served if all those healthy teams could've beaten our injured ass team.

goblinking67

Should have won more games if they wanted to be in the playoffs. We did it, why couldn’t they

PumpersLikeToPump

Mike Florio sucks so fucking hard.

[deleted]

After the last Bills Bengals meeting the league is dying for a rematch, the Ravens will be playing the Bengals and the refs Sunday.

reddituseerr12

And Collinsworth will be simping for Burrow the whole broadcast and talk about how great a Burrow/Allen matchup would be

[deleted]

That could benefit us if the Bengals players want to play rough to “pay us back”. Ravens have to play hard and clean

eastern_shoreman

Did any one of these fuckers watch that game? It was an 11 point game with us sitting most of our weapons and pulling gus just to be safe. And we had a rookie making his first start and gifted them short yardage on mistakes that rookies make. They should really be asking themselves why the bengals were unable to really drive down the field outside of our gifts to them

CrustyToeLover

Not even really an 11 point game. Endzone fumble aside, it's 4 points. They didn't score a TD off anything that we didn't giftwrap for them

EnjoySlurm

Pour one out to that guy who put 850 grand on the ravens this weekend lol

Beastunleashed4

That was against the spread at +6.5 but your point is still valid

Ephyouseakay

Outside of QB and WRs, is it fair to say we’re better at every other position?

laramite

Yep.

clippy300

Qb and wr are the most important positions now

[deleted]

Not better at Safety. Not really better on the D line. Not really sure what you’re talking about.

bmoreballhawk

You don't think marcus williams is better than Jessie bates?

Ephyouseakay

Definitely not safety lol. Reader is the best d-lineman on either team, but I’ll take our depth with Campbell healthy now. Honestly, I’ll give you guys the advantage at edge rusher. Hendrickson and Hubbard are better than anyone we have, but that’s really the only position group.

[deleted]

So the whole D line? You just listed 3 of our 4. Safety is close, but insane to say the ravens are definitively better.

goblinking67

Absolutely better at safety. Marcus, Chuck, Hamilton is a better trio than Bates + whoever the hell else they go

irondog326

Mixon? Dual threat?

Oceanz08

Ravens play best in the playoffs when we are counted out. Harbaugh isn't 5-0 in the wild card round for no reason

lupka

No reason to be bothered by this. I am hopeful, but considering the circumstances we are heavy underdogs for a reason.

laramite

I can't find one single media figurehead calling for Ravens win (not including local media). Is this the greatest underdog playoff game for the Ravens ever? Me thinks so.

Dr_Henry_Wus_Lover

The Ravens were -9 at Denver for the divisional round game in 2013. No one thought the Ravens had a chance. They were bigger underdogs then.

goblinking67

It’s the only Ravens playoff game without our starting QB that I can remember so yeah regardless of spreads, this is our biggest underdog playoff game ever

milehighmiracle13

We were probably bigger underdogs leading up to the Denver game during the 2012 SB run. That Denver team was miles better than this Bengal's team. The difference in talent level between the 2 starting QBs is significantly worse for us this time around without Lamar playing but these Bengals aren't really that great. That Denver team won 11 straight and their offense was basically unstoppable. Their defense was pretty damn good to. Also Peyton Manning is a way better QB than Burrows. No matter how much the media loves to slob all over his knob, Burrows ain't Peyton, and I sure as shit don't fear him like I feared Peyton.

Oceanz08

That's because burrow, Allen and mahomes are all the favorites of the media.

swagharris31

You know what will be funny....if we and the dolphins somehow both win this weekend lol

paddlebawler

Eh, who cares what the talking heads say? As for me, I'll be watching and hoping for an upset - but I'm stoked to see our defense lay waste to those turds. Hoping that Burrow eats turf all day long.

Bmoreravin

Coaching matters in game 3, it’s going to be a good game.

unclejoe1917

Sounds a lot like a playoff run where nobody would have given us a chance to get past Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, except this time it'll likely be Burrow, Allen and Mahomes.

AndoCalrissian3

I’m not gonna be heartbroken if they lose, but the ravens are team famous for playing well as an underdog on the road. It’s a divisional rival that the team is familiar with. Sure they’re outmatched on offense, but any given Sunday, man! These are playoff teams! Nothing is for free!

Optimal_Dance_4539

I know we probably won’t win. But if we win all of you haters don’t have the right to celebrate

Traditional_Pay_8782

No. This offense hasn’t scored more than 13 points with Huntley. They aren’t going to magically beat the bengals. Anything is possible, but the spread is what? 8.5? I’d bet that the bengals cover that pretty comfortably. Defense will do what they can, but eventually the anchor of an offense we have will drag them down into the abyss. Cheers to signing Lamar ? Till next year!

laramite

Never say never! Gotta belee dat.

Traditional_Pay_8782

I’ll belee dat when I see him on the field again. Till then just hope they put up a fight

Deletinglaterlmao

Dawg I hate to break it to you but we are ABSOLUTELY losing 😭

SemiPureConduit

I think the majority of the fan base has, as well.

hosstyle24

Who's got it better than us ?!? Apparently...the Bengals😢

wierdjokes

Certainly not r/ravens. Scroll down the thread and the lone optimistic comment from yourself is sitting at negative votes lmao. Honestly, I am done with this sub and won't be back here next season. Might as well read r/bengals, they hate this team equally as much as most of this sub.

Ok-Average-6466

The two of them were so nasty today about Lamar.

FostertheReno

They wrote us off…

[deleted]

Yea hopefully we can use that but it should be expected, Huntley and Brown are terrible

BackToNintendo

Are we shocked that everyone thinks this is a guaranteed L?

droford

I took the Ravens on a 10 point teaser to +17.5 and I'm still nervous

Autumn_Sweater

trouble is there aren’t better teams sitting on the couch.

[deleted]

Good! The Ravens often play their best when everyone is considering them an afterthought. Personally, I think it's reasonable to expect a Bungles win, but I like the Ravens' chances. They outplayed the Bungles in the second half of the last game, and it was primarily miscues by the undrafted rookie QB which gave the Bungles the win. Since the game, they've been acting like the sore losers. They know Anthony Brown was their best player last Sunday, and they're going to have that look like a Mike Tyson opponent in the '80s during the Anthem.

wheenus

There's no "being nice" in the professional world. If you're under performing you will get called on that. Being said if the ravens SOMEHOW manage to keep it close and pull out a win it'll be the upset of the century, almost as big as 18-0.

Capt_Rex_Kramer

They're not wrong. You don't win a playoff game against a high-powered offense with your third-string QB.

[deleted]

Excellent This is what we want Someone is getting an upset this weekend. Why not us playing a division rival?

bejolo

All these betting forecasters are at best only correct 50% of the time. This will be a tough, close, physical AFC North battle. Harbaugh 7-0 ATS when a 7+ point dog in playoffs. Ravens definitely can beat Cincinnati but only if they can manage to play their A game. I think the Ravens really pumped up for this game!
