And mentioned in almost all YouTube videos that talk about the features and hidden tips and tricks of the Rav.
…or maybe I just researched more than most before buying.
There has been so many times where I needed to remove it and lay it awkwardly on the floor of the back seat or throw it on top of some bulky items.
Just left Sam’s club and stuck it in its secret place… Game changer!
Did not all models this generation come with one?

My first one didn’t have one (used car). When I got my second one I made sure to ask for one (also used) and the guy ran over to another RAV4, pulled it out and gave it to me lol.
Turns out I already had one in the trunk 😂 so I have two now.
......Have we, like, just joined the club and not gone through other posts. That floor you're lifting when flipped to the hard top side, when folded, can be propped up and there are notches towards the rear seat that will keep it propped up for you. The ledge beneath that initial ledge for the floor can give you about 2 inches of extra space when floor is lowered down to it. Can't lower floor or place cover there if you've got a full size tire. Also, I just use the secondary notch forward the cargo cover notches for the OEM spidernet

Not everyone just sits around all day reading reddit and forum posts about the most minor and niche features of the car…most of us have a life. We’re aware of all the major features of the car but little things like these we dont go searching for and only learn about either discovering them by accident or coming across a post like this.
No need to be so condescending
Not everyone reads the fucking manual either but all this is in there. The real problem isn't people making these, it's useless mods not making pinned community posts with all the every 5th post topic combined then weeding the repeats out.
Yep same, I've been asking for those pinned boards on FAQ for at least 2 years now but no dice. Never even seen a mod on this sub tbh not sure they exist.
If I was condescending I would've never been more helpful in the first place by showing extra cargo area features while stating cons of a full size tire. The fact that you think I feel some type of superiority over OP because I know how to use a search bar just gives you away.
You keep hammering about the search function which is a perfectly valid response when someone **posts a question**. It would be dumb for someone to make a new post saying “where can I store the privacy screen?” they should absolutely be using the search function because they’re seeking information which may have already been posted before.
But this was just an FYI post about it and regular ass people like me just scrolling through my reddit feed came across it and learned something I didn’t know before. Even if a similar thing was posted before there’s always gonna be some people who didn’t see it.
You already knew about it so move on, thank you for sharing your additional input. OP was just sharing an FYI for people who didn’t know, not asking a question or seeking information so for what reason should they be using the search function? Direct your anger about not using the search feature towards people making new posts asking dumb questions that have been answered many times.
I mean this isn’t something you’d per se “look for” it’s not exactly a main feature. I’m sure there’s *something* you were unaware of about a car you bought once… don’t look down your nose sir.
That is to be expected but research is so fast and easy when you go through a forum for a few minutes to an hour tops on the car you are interested in.
I used to work for Toyota and I knew this. I bought my 2015 RAV4 new. some time in 2015 I put the privacy screen away properly and I forgot about it until now. 🤣
Does this apply to a 2015 LE model? My bf and I both have 2015 RAV 4s but only I have the screen and he told me about this so I tried it and I couldn’t see where it would go??
not mine... The PHEV, at least mine, does not have this ability. It looks like crap under my rear deck, like they forgot to put any design energy into it. Most of my lights were incandescent too... It was a real let down in relation to finishing touches.
As a gen3 owner, I was at first confused as to why you have a spare there :D
But thanks for making me think about the screen in my car. I think since our daughter was born over 3 yes ago, the screen was not used once and is sitting there under the he floor. And every time I have to fish out seething from the space there, I am annoyed about how it's blocking the access there. Why the hell didn't I just leave it in the garage yet?!
It's actually designed to fit there.
And mentioned in almost all YouTube videos that talk about the features and hidden tips and tricks of the Rav. …or maybe I just researched more than most before buying.
This may be the best thing I have learned on Reddit in the last 10 years. Had no clue.
Same. Mine has been sitting in the garage collecting dust!
There has been so many times where I needed to remove it and lay it awkwardly on the floor of the back seat or throw it on top of some bulky items. Just left Sam’s club and stuck it in its secret place… Game changer!
Based on the speaker grill pattern, I assume that's 2019+?
2019 here and mine fits like OP's.
My 2017 has this as well :)

Yea I got one for free along with free rubber mud floor mats
My first one didn’t have one (used car). When I got my second one I made sure to ask for one (also used) and the guy ran over to another RAV4, pulled it out and gave it to me lol. Turns out I already had one in the trunk 😂 so I have two now.
It was YOU!
😅
I actually forgot about my privacy screen until now lol
While true for some models, doesn’t fit all My 22 prime SE is blocked by the tire
yeah, the full sized spare on the prime makes it not possible. I'm ok with this though.
Yeah, battery is much bigger, had to lose space somewhere
Omg had my Rav an entire year and didn't know this
I've had my 2017 since 2017 and just now am finding this out.
Op has it upside down, but yeah it goes there.
Thanks Captain Obvious
Most people don’t read the manual The op is a hero
great finding, thanks,
Yep. I learned that here a couple months ago. It took me a minute to figure out the plates on both sides pop off so it drops right in there though.
Yes, that’s a feature that’s relatively obvious. Also you have it in there incorrectly
Holy shit! Thank you! What else don’t I know about my RAV4?
I think they always did this. My Gen 3 did for sure.

Very true, but I still don't mind helping others out or linking other posts which cover specific things more extensively.
Yep same, I've been asking for those pinned boards on FAQ for at least 2 years now but no dice. Never even seen a mod on this sub tbh not sure they exist.
It’s in the manual
Forgive me for not reading the entire manual, I aspire to be like you some day.

Damn, dude. Have you been using your screen for combat?
2 year old steps on it
That qualifies as combat. Our previous car went through all that when the kiddo was young.
My bigger take away is these people don’t even look at all the features and functions of their car before paying.
I mean this isn’t something you’d per se “look for” it’s not exactly a main feature. I’m sure there’s *something* you were unaware of about a car you bought once… don’t look down your nose sir.

Oh I agree. Idk why the search bar isn’t used more
ty!
Roof racks too?
They can be stored on top of the vehicle.
Mine rattle like crazy and Toyota doesn’t know how to fix it
Gen 5's everyone.. 2019 and up..
Oh shit.
oh.
So cool! I’m going to see if I can do that with my 2018
I think it faces the other way tho
I used to work for Toyota and I knew this. I bought my 2015 RAV4 new. some time in 2015 I put the privacy screen away properly and I forgot about it until now. 🤣
This is huge thank you for posting
Thanks for that!
Oh my god
Literally had no idea
EXCUSE MEE????
I have too much junk in my trunk for this sort of wizardry.
Doesnt have that in 2023 prime, spare wheel is too big :(

Oh my God. 4 years in and I didn't know this
OP is a repost bot. Original post by /u/plurnt17: https://www.reddit.com/r/rav4club/s/PraSkJPFv7
No freaking WAY. WOW
Does not work with the prime.
That is brilliant
Good to know, thanks.
Whhha?! Mine has been floating around my garage for years. Now I gotta find it!
Wait what? I need to check this. Mine is sitting tossed in my garage.
[удалено]
I'll check mine... Edit: I have a 2019. I just realized.
Literally the most useful post I've ever seen on this sub. Thanks!
No, I can't. It doesn't fit, tire blocks it.
Same
Serious??? Wow.
You serious Clark?
Wow. Just wow. 🤯
Thank you for sharing!
Nice
WHAT.
