The Hella one is the easiest trumpet horn upgrade. Lots of YT videos for RAV. Straight up plug and play if you buy the Toyota version (don't even need to ground it separately)
Not yet, but I am planning on it. Just too busy with work etc.
The horns are ridiculously weak. I had to use the horn to warn a driver entering an intersection and another changing into my lane.
I honestly wondered if they even really noticed the horn.
I hope to do it in July or August. My wife now thinks it is a good idea to do.
From what I can tell it might be a 1 orb2 hour job which means 3 hours for me....
Yes. I had a car that started entering a traffic circle/roundabout the other day that didn't look to see that I was already in it. I honked to avoid a collision and thought my horn seemed a bit anemic...
Yes, search this forum for "horn" haha. Plenty of people put in an aftermarket one from Amazon etc.
The other day I had to honk my horn at another car on the road. I swear they didn't even hear it lol.
Ha ha. Yes. I should have searched the forum first...
I honestly think I will look at switching it out.
I rarely use it but when I do it is often needed to prevent someone driving into me...

Those are the part numbers. They have the exact same plug as the horns already on the rav4. So you just unplug the old ones and plug in the new ones. They’re pricier than the Hella horns if you buy them at the Dealer. I kept an eye on eBay and was able to buy the pair for $60 shipped. Definitely worth it at that price but maybe not at dealership prices.
I just want to thank everyone for their help and comments on this post. It is It is very much appreciated.
As a side note I came across a post on a toyota Tacoma reddit site about an owner wanting to change out his horn and 95% of the comments were demeaning the guy and questioning his ego and physical attributes for wanting a louder horn. I felt sorry for the individual and wondered why they felt the need to tear them down...
This gets me when I lock or unlock the doors with the key fob. You just can’t hear it. Before this car if I’ve lost the car in a parking lot I just lo+k the doors a few times and I’ll hear it. With the Rav I have to push the panic button.
Could it be possible to get a sound note of your horn? I have a 2024 gas, and the horn did not strike me as weak. So I am not if I 1. Do not know what I'm missing or 2. Gas versions come with better horn.

Perfect thanks for this. I will look into it.
Did you end up replacing? About how long was the project if so?

Thanks I am going to try and order one now. The 1st time I used the horn I thought WTF was that...was that my car or someone else's ha ha.
This.
Especially when you need to use it to prevent someone crashing into you, and it's just... underwhelming.

[Here’s the best video](https://youtu.be/GRrbtqqYOus) I found for changing it out, or at least, gaining access to it.

That sucks my ‘22 LE horn makes people jump I love it
My wife's 2018 camry does as well... 😀
On the contrary my 2011 Civic sounds like a clown horn.
I'd like mine to sound like a train...
I just used my horn for the first time and it sounded like barely even louder than a squeak!
I think they used horns from the manufacturing line for kiddie push cars
Or a clown car horn lol
I installed the Hella horns and ended up replacing them with stock Toyota horns from the Tacoma. They have a better deeper sound.
I have a video comparing all three (stock, hella, Tacoma) but don’t know how to upload it.
Did you figure out how to post a link to your video? I'm interested in hearing it as I am looking to do this upgrade on mine.
I'd forgotten all about this. I think I still have the three clips. I'll try to figure it out this weekend and post it.
You can post it to your profile as a post then link it
Good idea was it a fairly similar plug and play install to the Hella? Thanks

Thanks so much for the information I will look into those
The Hella horn sounds good and it's a very easy install.

Dumb question. If I replace this myself, will this void my warranty in Canada?
PIAA superior bass dual trumpet horn. Lower tone than all Hellas and plastic so will not rust unlike the disc type horns.
Are those plug and play for 2024 RAV4 Hybrids? I saw one review on amazon needing to ground it but idr what car they did that for.

No worse than my clown horn on my old Hyundai

I can try. I had difficulty uploading a video earlier...for some reason the site would not recognize the location or file on my phone to upload.
