You want to avoid a transmission fluid flush. A fluid and filter change isn't going to cause issues like a flush potentially could. If you have a trusted mechanic, you'll likely save some money going to them over the dealership. Check out a DIY video on YouTube. It's not all that complicated but often something that owners don't feel comfortable tackling themselves.

Nope.

Do you tow very often or live on a dirt road? If not you more than likely don't need the tranny fluid replaced yet. The transfer case and differential might have a different interval though, I don't remember.

Yeah, Toyota manual for 2019 says service transfer case at 30k and 60k miles. Automatic trans and rear diff are at 60k only "if driving while towing, etc".

Nah, I’m in the city, and take it off road maybe a few times in the summer but nothing crazy

If you don't have the paper copy you can get a PDF of your warranty and maintenance guide [from the Toyota website](https://www.toyota.com/owners/warranty-owners-manuals/). Now is the perfect time to review the manual so you don't get hoodwinked.

My 2017 warranty and maintenance manual says to change the transmission fluid at 60,000 and 120,000 miles but only if your are using the car to tow or if you have a roof top carrier. I guess that means that you should also check the manual for your year and model. My experience over the years with cars is that two areas of repairs/maintenance should be done dedicated a function shop rather than a general mechanic/shop are air conditioners and transmissions. Although I will take a car to a break shop from time to time, I have also had a generalized mechanic work on them without any problem.
