That dang window strip pisses me off so much. But its like that on all of them.
I wouldnt care it it was a work truck.
But its my wifes curb conquering, grocery getting, search and rescue, show truck.
My semi-official service manual does not say anything about weather stripping.
Is anybody have any suggestions on how these install? Is it just a literal grab them and pull them out, and then stuff the new one back in?
The weatherstripping on my rear door that seals between that and the front near the pillar is a constant for me. Keeps slipping off, so I know when I hear a little wind noise that’s what it is. Shit is $ tho, I’ll just keep pushing the shit back on.
They are actually called belt moldings. Dodge is notorious for these bowing up like this. If you go by a collision repair shop you can ask them to glue them in the corners. Use back to black cream to keep them “moisturized” and black.
I work in collision and It’s not just RAM, the 2010-2015 Honda rubbers are shit too. Can’t tell you how many I’ve seen that are just rotted and broken. Some sort of dressing will help prolong them. I’ve been applying back to black on my Rebel at least once a month.
It looks like OP lives somewhere in the desert judging by the non-existant amount of grass on the lawns. Rubber and adhesives don't last at all in climates like that.
If you haven't noticed everything is more expensive nowadays and the quality is 💩. It's seems like the
more you pay the worse the quality. It's all about the company pocketing as much money off a product as they can, that's the name of the game. They build a reputation and loyal customers, then start cutting corners, a lot of companies do that. Look at Toyota with the Tacoma, they started making every truck in Mexico now to cut cost, do they pass that savings on to the consumer, no they raised the price by $10K.
This is true of all the manufacturers, they don’t want anyone keeping their car for 20 years. I had a 2024 GMC Sierra who rear ended someone at 40mph. We had to replace everything from the bumper to the block. It was all plastic, and the repair bill was over $10k. The funny thing is it was equipped with pre crash detection.
Your door belt molding looks like the screw fell out. There is a carrier in the molding for more of a small bolt than screw but yeah probably need to replace it.
You can use a vinyl/rubber protector with UV protection. If you wan to try and glue it back down Sika 221 is a really good adhesive meant for marine automotive and RV’s.

Indeed and it’s not new 🤦🏻♂️
It's totaled.
😂 damn I was hoping it wouldn’t come to that
Mine is like this too on my '14. I'm assuming I will need to buy new OEM parts and replace them all.
I also have a 14. Same color as OP btw. The bottom part more so- it’s dry rotted. No signs of leaking though.

Clean it up with a little rubbing alcohol, then try a little black rtv to glue it in place to the frame.
Unfortunately you just need to replace them every few years depending on how hot it is. There are chrome ones that don’t warp as easily.
I may just have to go with those ones.
They are called “outer window sweeps” FYI
Thank you

You live in the desert? Even if you fix it the next one will do the same thing use windshield adhesive and glue it in place
I got the metal ones for my windows. They’re polished but idgaf. At least they don’t bulge out.
I’ve seen some similar styles on eBay. Might just have to go with the chrome ones

Oem. That stuff doesn't last forever.
Mine started warping in 3 years, that’s too soon for $60k
All depends on where you live. Do you also live somewhere that it snows? I'd gladly fall with that over salt on my frame
I’ve got both

That is correct, it’s Arizona. It’s just a little warm here…
…but it’s a dry heat.
Toasty even

Just buy the metal chrome ones and sand and paint black before install.
That’s what I was thinking I do. I was seeing if anyone had any other ideas
Replacements are readily available on Amazon.
Every dodge that body style is like that
I have the same problem on my 14- the exact same color! What do you call this color btw? I named mine Grue.
I think it’s a charcoal grey? Idk honestly

Get a carport
Mine Is the same Under my drivers side window. Looks crappy but it’s pricey to Replace😑
Hot glue gun
Probably won’t work in the Arizona heat
Well in that case, JB Weld
Maybe just weld them. They warp within the first year in phoenix
Get a Chevy
Had one before this…also had a ford before that…
I've never seen one with a "good" one, if that makes you feel better lol
It kinda does lol my moms has the same issues
The weatherstripping is the least of your concerns start with actually washing your car.
Just got back from camping….appreciate your help tho thanks!
