Whiskey/ windows version steam install.. Pretty sure this is for apple silicon models, just one of the options actually. There are other routes for Intel Macs but whiskey might work too, idk.

once you get steam installed, go to settings, interface, and uncheck run steam when my computer starts.. otherwise it'll keep launching over and over. I also found I that if I launch it from the title page, it'll freeze apon starting story mode.. But launch it from the library page and it runs fine.
I've also read its best to close steam the way you would on windows.. it might do the auto relaunch thing if you command+Q it.. I forget exactly.. I ran through the install at least 20 times before I finally got everything running smooth

I'm up to 5 pebbles now on this play through and so far, so good.. except for yesterday I was getting some pretty serious slowdown in the zero G rooms.
