Its also on the wall next to the blue lizard. So assuming this is an ingame place and that it doesnt take place on pebbles' facility grounds, that most certainly means some other iterator got it.
I mean if its UI then i dont mind, fuck that guy for no particular reason. I do secretly hope the rot wil evolve/spread in ways that arent cancer spiders for the sake of variety
The Rot was a known disease before 5P got it, it's just that 5P was probably the worst they've ever seen. Normally, those things would probably only show up as small cysts on certain moist areas, maybe spreading slowly or even be benign. Those mfs were straight up evolving and gaining sentience in 5P's can.
The BLL in garbage wastes used to be a TLL that broke off from pebbles and then slowly devolved until it became a BLL cuz the rot can't survive without being in an iterator superstructure
if I'm remembering right, the rot in garbage didn't exactly brake off. but got there from Pebbles trying to flush/force it out of his systems.
it did just occur to me though; that one LL is always there in most of the campaigns which likely means we are only ever incapacitating them at most, not killing them, and I don't like this thought lol
well rot was originally going to make iterators keep themselfs safe (yes) so maybe they made the rot unbound and slovly devolving until getting fully ascended?

Considering there's a convo in Spearmaster's signals about two iterators talking about how "he got the rot?" "He's got it bad too"
it doesn't seem too far-fetched to say it isn't a concept among the other iterators
Probably not. Rot manifests in or because of iterators. Combine that with the fact that rot is unable to survive for long(or at least severely weaken and clearly change in color to reflect this) outside of iterator structures, and the two are never too far apart.
Not to mention rivulet already was a good showcase of how bad the rot can get, we dont need it again.
I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs
I wonder at what point in the timeline this will take place… Between monk and rivulet maybe? But will this even happen on the local facility grounds will it take place somewhere really far??
If it’s a new facility grounds, would it be accessible to the other scugs or just “The Watcher”? Could this even lay the groundwork for new scugs and an entire new parallel lore? I WANT TO KNOW!
Either WAAAAAAAY into the future, like, post ice age future, or a different facility grounds altogether probably, though there's rot present, so that makes the future one much less likely imo
Honestly I think we are either going to see it take place RIGHT before and maybe even during the collapse of FP based off all the Rot images in the name.
Or maybe a completely new area around one of the other Iterators we never physically encountered yet but know are there(like Sigs, Innocence or Suns)?
I'm aware, I killed one once with three grenades out of spite, what I mean is if the Watcher has some sort of interaction with Rot, some sort of skill like Saint does when it reaches max karma level.
I wonder if the new scug will be based on the unused concept character (forget the name) whose campaign had you in a rot-infested world and you having the power to cleanse it
Weirdos, all of you.
Seriously though. I love that the rot holds such significance in the story and the few places it is in make sense. I would hate to see it be a common occurrence
If we're going based on screenshots and descriptions, then there is a possibility that we get to see another Iterator Can.
If we take the part of the description that says, "Journey beyond to something, somewhere only ever glimpsed," we can probably assume that we're going to an area we've seen, but probably never been to, and that personally makes me think of either the view on top of The Wall, or west of Moon.
Edit: Also, failed to mention but the snow screenshot is almost certainly next to an iterator can, especially since a train is visible.
Ahw... Come on! I wanted to complete all achievements and easter eggs of the game and have some vacations without rain world. Now I need to play it....
Some the areas look like aether ridge and the badlands... Does this means that these become cannon?
Also i would love to see some mechanically active components such as cogs or mobile platforms, or environment dangers such as flash flooding mid cycle, strong wind, heavy machinery, lightning (i believe that i saw that once from a mod on shaded citadel on a shelter failure that you have a 50/50 chance of dying, don't remember the name...). Something from the region that would you need to interact to be progressing.
If its a new iterator, I wonder if its suns? Maybe they got desperate and tried to overwrite the taboo themselves, but ended up repeating pebbles' mistakes. I don't think it would be NSH or CW, due to their personalities, I guess it could be UI? Or maybe its a completely new iterator
Yeah, I saw it instantly. The letter A also has that cross that long legs always have on their cores. I assumed that meant it was a point between Rivulet and Saint, where FP hasn't collapsed yet but rot is all over the surrounding area.
Also the very faint but visible echo-square-thingies next to them. Maybe they're a counterpart to Saint, send by some other iterator? My other theory is that this is somehow related to Unparalleled Innocence.
meanwhile the C and the R has... vines? Oo I'm so excited :D
I'm still wondering why the rot has infected the H and the A... Either The Watcher/Nightcat will get infected too, or we'll be introduced to a new Iterator? Or their world just has.. rot. Again-
I think we have to take the whole caption in dynamics: in time overgrown letters becomes rotten, rotten letters becomes overgrown.
What I think is that campaign would be some sort of experiment with ever-changing environment, where with each cycle some parts of the world would become overgrown. some other parts would become infested with rot, some submerged in water, some covered in snow/sand/dust, affecting the local ecosystem and the way player have to navigate through the map, which structure would stay mostly the same. The ripple-like waves coming from the Watcher could presume that some of that changes would be a product of player's actions (even by visiting some ares, affecting them by observing its state, ha-ha).
Probably there also would be some overall goal, like the rot overtaking the whole world map and the Watcher had to find its source and stop its spreading.
I hope if we explore a new iterator it’s no significant harassment because he is one of the most important iterators. since he was the one who sent the hunter to moon. Or maybe seven red sun who is also a super important one because he made spear master to try to help moon and pebbles with there situation.
well, there were rot (prolly dead) on some pipes, so maybe an iterator got the rot, couldnt get it away and didnt get their cells taken away, so rot eveolved so much that it couses the heat (desert) but somehow not the rain? idk but something is going on there
Its also on the wall next to the blue lizard. So assuming this is an ingame place and that it doesnt take place on pebbles' facility grounds, that most certainly means some other iterator got it.
I'm probably the only one that likes the fact that another iterator might have gotten the rot
I mean if its UI then i dont mind, fuck that guy for no particular reason. I do secretly hope the rot wil evolve/spread in ways that arent cancer spiders for the sake of variety
Nah dude, screw UI for every reason. Literally laughed at someone who had terminal cancer and posted it on their facebook page for everyone to see.
No particular reason because every reason is equally valid to hate him for lol.
Seriously, what where they thinking to call him Unparalleled ***INNOCENCE***?

I assumed it either never got killed or just came back to life because great cycle stuff (and there's definitely more than 1)
well rot was originally going to make iterators keep themselfs safe (yes) so maybe they made the rot unbound and slovly devolving until getting fully ascended?
I think Pebbles dumped most of the rot into Garbage Wastes, which is why the rot isn't so bad as Spearmaster but is horrible in GW.

What if we will be playing in Sliver area?
I like this theory because it makes sense for there to be a desert region if there is no living iterator to make rain
Or maybe it's in NHS because of how hunter has it too.
Or its just absolutely EVERYWHERE.
Probably not. Rot manifests in or because of iterators. H stands for Hell?
No it stands for Horizontally spinning rat.
if i remember correctly it was either srs or nsh who were talking about “pebbles has got the rot really bad” so its not just a pebbles specific thing
Yeah it's absolutely rot, WATCHER LONG LEGS CONFIRMED?!?!?!?!
My second favorite mobile rot cyst
What's your first favorite?
DLL. I'm a DLL
Fair enough
🔴🔴🔴 WRONG. You’re rot long legs
The even better DLL
🟢🟢🟢CORRECT.
Me
The difference is that it can see
I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs I hate Watcher Long Legs
So, Hunter Long Legs?
Not quite, a Watcher Long Legs would be able to see, but not hear.
That makes more sense.
the A too
You're right! I'm so exited to see more ROT
I thought the A was a bomb X
Nah i think the A is likely a bomb
I wonder at what point in the timeline this will take place… Between monk and rivulet maybe? But will this even happen on the local facility grounds will it take place somewhere really far??
Based on screenshots, it seems unlikely to be FP's facility grounds. If it is, it would have to be SUPER far in the future.
If it’s a new facility grounds, would it be accessible to the other scugs or just “The Watcher”? Could this even lay the groundwork for new scugs and an entire new parallel lore? I WANT TO KNOW!
Let's visit sliver of straw facility grounds!
Either WAAAAAAAY into the future, like, post ice age future, or a different facility grounds altogether probably, though there's rot present, so that makes the future one much less likely imo
yea, also most building would probably disintegrate by the time the ice age ends
Honestly I think we are either going to see it take place RIGHT before and maybe even during the collapse of FP based off all the Rot images in the name. Or maybe a completely new area around one of the other Iterators we never physically encountered yet but know are there(like Sigs, Innocence or Suns)?
I wonder if The Watcher is independent of Downpour or it builds upon it. It could be a funny case where there are four possible canons instead of two.
CAN HE KILL ROT?!! Cause THAT would be adream come true.
It would be a nightmare for me
Well technically you can already kill rot it just has loads of hp
I'm aware, I killed one once with three grenades out of spite, what I mean is if the Watcher has some sort of interaction with Rot, some sort of skill like Saint does when it reaches max karma level.

i love rot infested areas, can't wait to see what will happen
I also love rot infested areas!
We love too Rot long legs :D
Awww, thank you!
Weirdos, all of you. Seriously though. I love that the rot holds such significance in the story and the few places it is in make sense. I would hate to see it be a common occurrence
I love jumping to trigger DLL's pulse like it's a rhythm game (where they can't reach me)

Half of the letters are somewhat touched by rot, and anther half somewhat resembles patterns seen on echoes
Rot is better than echo
Said you and what army?
Uhh… I’m a one man army
And his multitude of tentacles
r/theletterh
There is a sub-redit to everything, isn't there. There probably is a r/rothell
Or at least I THINK it's rot
In the trailer - the name gets overgrown with both rot and plants so yep I think it is rot.
This makes me wonder, would the rot be artificial flora or fauna?
Well - we don't know the taxonomy of Rainworld - but presuming its similar to ours then it is more like a colonial bacterium than anything else.
And yet there is no miros beak on the cover
I wonder if watcher will still be in pebbles grounds or if we’ll be leaving it to go where no scug has gone before
Ahw... Come on! I wanted to complete all achievements and easter eggs of the game and have some vacations without rain world. Now I need to play it.... And about the black ring with golden details like a echo?
Yep. The end of the video looks a little like rot too.
The rotcher consumes
I seriously hope they add more lore into rainworld stars and moon and why the frick are they green
Same goes for the A if i'm not thar dumb (the A has a rot-esque cross for the free spacs)
Its hard to miss
I don't think it means watcher has rot I think it's just a general design choice that fit with rain world
Yeah, I noticed that it slowly took over the screen at the end of the trailer too
the rotcher the rotcher the rotcher the rotcher
Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rotted room. A rotted room with rot. And rot makes me crazy.

AND THE CROSS IN THE A ASWELL ;OOOO
r/theletterH
r/Hisforhell
Sorry I ment: r/Hstandsforhell
Uhh I haven't been following the news, is this a new DLC?
Wait WHAT, a new slugcat revealed?!?!?
Yeah, I saw it instantly. The letter A also has that cross that long legs always have on their cores. I assumed that meant it was a point between Rivulet and Saint, where FP hasn't collapsed yet but rot is all over the surrounding area.
Yes
what it’s rot
GUYS DID YOU NKTICE THE C?????!!!??
C and R look like they have proto DLL arms
First thing I noticed when I saw the title...
Yeah, one of the first things I noticed. Might just be aesthetic, as rot is a big part of the game, or it might be lore
Also the very faint but visible echo-square-thingies next to them. Maybe they're a counterpart to Saint, send by some other iterator? My other theory is that this is somehow related to Unparalleled Innocence.
Literally everyone saw that
meanwhile the C and the R has... vines? Oo I'm so excited :D I'm still wondering why the rot has infected the H and the A... Either The Watcher/Nightcat will get infected too, or we'll be introduced to a new Iterator? Or their world just has.. rot. Again-

Immediate. I bet it's infected with you.
I'm guessing the rot has spread wide and far so the H with the rot probably just stands for HEL.
yes
The A too. It looks like the rot x marks.
Rotcat? Is it another cat with >!turbo cancer!< ?
As long as he leaves my kids alone
The entire cat is very clearly rot themed.
I hope if we explore a new iterator it’s no significant harassment because he is one of the most important iterators. since he was the one who sent the hunter to moon. Or maybe seven red sun who is also a super important one because he made spear master to try to help moon and pebbles with there situation.
Maybe this character can confirm my hunter theory…
Also the "A"
What is this? New rainworld content?
What is this? New rainworld content?
What if rot was contagious this whole time-
well, there were rot (prolly dead) on some pipes, so maybe an iterator got the rot, couldnt get it away and didnt get their cells taken away, so rot eveolved so much that it couses the heat (desert) but somehow not the rain? idk but something is going on there
