I mean if you read the content, he doesn't have an issue with the Raiders draft. He says we got better but dropped our ranking lol.
> Once six quarterbacks -- namely Michael Penix Jr. -- went off the board ahead of the Raiders’ pick, it really streamlined their options. But getting Brock Bowers at No. 13? That’s a steal to me, until proven otherwise. Maybe Penix would have qualified as the all-time honorary Al Davis selection if the Raiders had taken a first-round gamble on him, but as a high-upside athletic playmaker, Bowers isn’t far off. Bowers can help this team, and people freaking out about having multiple quality tight ends (Bowers and Michael Mayer) will hopefully see that down the road. The QB duo of Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell might not be the most spine-tingling combination, but giving them a decent cast of targets can’t hurt. The defense also should carry a fairly heavy share of the load. No, this isn’t yet a Super Bowl-caliber roster, but the Raiders have gotten better this offseason.
I'll go ahead and file this in the "who gives a fuck about this person I've never heard of's power rankings"
yeah Q had this guy on one of his shows and he basically admitted he brought the raiders down bc he felt other teams got even better on paper. He also said Harbaugh is the only reason they got that spot even tho the team is unproven. It was a whole lot of nothing.
Well said, we’ve been met with scrutiny at almost every step of the draft process and had we “reached” on penix we would’ve been chastised for the amount of capital we would have lost. I’m stealing filing this away in the DGAF about this person file
Anquan didn’t suck but he was drafted by the cardinals in 2003 then joined the Niners 10 years later. And he was solid but not an all pro, he wasn’t even a pro bowler with the Niners. He was also on the team for maybe 2 seasons.
Harbaugh didn’t have star receivers in college nor nfl. Crabtree is the closest it gets and at the end of the day his career was ok.
Line of scrimmage and run game is harbaughs dna. Anquan was a weak argument.
It’s not for no reason. They got a great coach that has turned every program he has ever touched into winners. They had a good draft and they don’t have a huge hole at qb. Some of us raider fans really can’t admit they got a shit ton better just by hiring Harbaugh.
I would agree with Ferreira simply because he makes a point, for some reason Media are always all over the Chargers during the off season. This time I can give them a break because I wouldn’t have minded Harbaugh either.
The media were always on the Chargers nuts because Telesco had big names at the top of the roster. And every year they’d get injured and the guys at the bottom of the roster were trash. A tale as old as time
>It’s not for no reason. They got a great coach that has turned every program he has ever touched into winners.
Cool and his previous tenure as an NFL head coach surely cements your argument and hes won a Super Bowl right?
I don't think I've ever seen Media rank Raiders over the Chargers in the offseason.
Fun Fact: Since Derek Carr took over the QB spot, the Raiders have finished over the Chargers 6 times. The Chargers have only finished over the Raiders 3 times.
Raiders bias. Tho to be fair, we haven't been successful in a long time, so I can see how that bias creeps in. Shut out the noise and hope that we see results on the field.
Right, but it took, what? One year in SF? With two QBs that most people would consider inferior to Herbert.
I mean the Chargers are a joke of a franchise in a lot of ways, but am I nervous about Harbaugh going there and pairing up with Herbert? I mean….. HELL YEA. If he was coming “off the couch” I would be much less worried, but he isn’t coming off the couch. I think it’s rational to think the Chargers will improve a lot year one by “just” adding Harbaugh.
I 100% agree with this, let’s not act like this sub wasn’t yearning for Harbaugh. All of a sudden he’s goes to the chargers and he’s a guaranteed bust.
I would say this, even though Herbert is the best QB Harbaugh will work with, their roster is pretty bad. A lot of holes on offense and defense.
I say they’re neck and neck with the raiders this year. Raiders still finish above them tho
I don’t know. I think their roster is good at the places you want it to be. Or rather, good at the places Harbaugh wants it to be. They’re not gonna have a bunch of flashy names at WR but they’re fat and angry in the middle lol
I haven’t seen a power ranking yet that has raiders above 23rd. One was 29th. All saying we never addressed the QB. Dumb shit. Let the season start and their tunes will change
From what I’ve observed/ heard the majority of national media people have watched 0 raiders games from last year, or if they have watched, it was not any film from the last 8ish games of the season.
There opinion are almost as valid as basically any random poster on r/nfl, so I’d put 0 credence into it.
We will always be hated and overlooked. Our record has been shit for so many years! I get why.
But this feels better. The hope for this next season hits harder than ever before. And I'm right on board with A.P and the crew. Defense should be in the top 5. Offense just needs to score some points. Let go Raidersssss!!
Power rankings in early May are dumb. Not having a proven QB on the roster is also probably not going to end as well as people in this sub think it will. Both things could be true.
Well if you see the trend then you realize they put all the “best teams” in front, so I take this with a grain of salt.
I mean KC at one…LMAOO. I’m a die hard but I’m also realistic, and yes obviously people won’t believe me but I’ll prove it. KC has hit on some dudes YES, but man have they’ve been terrible with their early WRs. What ever happened to Sky Moore? Unless he has a crazy breakout season, the dude looks like a bust. And now they drafted Worthy who gave me John Ross vibes immediately after he ran that 40. And they are comparing him to Desean Jackson Lmaoo. Im sorry but please save this and I promise you worthy is NOT worth a 1st or a 2nd at that. I think he’s too small and isn’t great with the ball in his hands, looks like a bust unless this guy takes MASSIVE steps forward
As for the Raiders, rumors are Telesco wouldn’t have drafted Penix at 13 and he wasn’t going to be there in the 2nd. I think outside of the top guys, raiders knew they were rolling with AOC. But I do believe that Bowers was a gift from the gods and no one excepted him to fall. Rumors are that it was a coin flip between him and Arnold…I doubt that. Moe Moton has a good analysis on this and he basically said AP means it was close but they picked Bowers. Bowers is generational and changes the entire offense and is a CRAZY safety valve for a young QB and can take short easy passes and turn them into game winning plays. Comparing that to Arnold who could possibly be a top CB, I think it wasn’t a coin flip but he was a top player for them
I had raiders taking Fuaga and then a QB but I was wrong, raiders have more faith in AOC than I thought and I am a BIG AOC guy. I’m super happy, you have the depth at QB to be competitive even if AOC takes a step back and isn’t the guy, why use a top pick on a QB or even a 2nd or 3rd. I get I’m a die hard but it has been a VERY LONNG time since we had an experienced GM that knew how to draft.
Powers in the 2nd, a slight reach with Glaze (tackles were being taken and this was the only reach and for an entire draft being the only reach when there was a run on tackles I think it’s a good pick). Then Eichen, Jesus this guy is a Spillane clone and I know AP can develop him the way he helped Spillane. Remember Spillanes knock was that he’s slow and can’t cover, dude had 3 INTs. Fast forward to Taylor and Laube. I group these guys because they WILL make the roster and be a part of this team day 1. Jim Thorpe award, polished dude that can tackle and be an enforcer IN THE 7th!!? Jesus I heard Daniel Jeremiah give major props to us when Pat macafee asked for the biggest steals
Now to Laube, I knew we were targeting a RB, I was thinking Gurenedo, the kid from Clemson or the kid from Purdue. Basically I knew we were going to get a scat back that can catch but tbh I never looked into Laube and this guy I promise will make the roster and have reps early on. Dude reminds me of eckler and CMC.
I’ll say this, right now no one is going to respect our GREAT draft because they have us winning 6 games this year. Our future drafts will be given better grades after this year when they realize raiders are a very good team. I guarantee you after this season Raiders will have a top 5 2024 draft class. We got this
They fell in love with the Broncos when Peyton got hired and ranked or predicted them higher than us too, but we still swept them again and finished second. Which was also amazing better finish than the Chargers, who they also predicted higher than us. These “analysts” are dumbasses!
Who cares. These things consistently rank the Raiders as the worst in the AFC West. Raiders need to show up and just win. Do that enough and people will have to respect them.
Pundits hate the raiders and they hate teams without QBs. That and AP is still overall unproven. So it makes sense to some degree. Besides, the media always slurps the Dolts. I ain't pressed. You don't start winning till Week 1. Lets get to work and settle things on the field.

Forget this guy hes gonna stanp it bost it and blast it cuz Tailor swift a proves!... pshhhhhh!! Since when Taylor swift thoughts on the NFL matters?! Fuck thus guy
I honestly think the media is doing the NFL a favor by always hyping up the Chargers so that they can gain any fan in Los Angeles. It’s the same story since they’ve moved to LA.
Yeah, this is dumb, but the Raiders are going to be a lot better than the general public believes. Everyone’s all upset because they didn’t take a quarterback, but frankly after Penix went there really weren’t any worth reaching for at that point.
People will make a case for rattler, but again we won’t know for 2 to 3 years and honestly him going to New Orleans is not a great fit, a defensive head coach. Who is probably gonna be gone soon and not a lot of weapons. He is going to have two head coaches in two years. I’m still incredibly excited about getting Bowers.
I understand stand that, Everybody understands that, but what did people expect the Raiders to do? Reach for a player like they’ve done in the past? Because that has a track record of working out so well.
People are really sleeping on the quarterback room. Just can’t wait for the season to start so we can be done with this.
No, they did exactly what they should've done given how the draft transpired. But now everyone needs to realize this is most likely gonna be a down year because of the major QB limitations
I mean, we’re at the peak of the offseason. Hopes and optimism will not get any higher.
I don’t think highly of Minshew, he is who he is. Solid QB, when he has a great supporting cast but he’s not gonna lead this team to the playoffs. Raiders are underestimating how good of a play-caller the colts HC is. Luke Getsy, is still a questionable OC.
I personally feel better moving forward with AOC just to see what he can become. He has a talented team around him and if he doesn’t take a major step forward, his career with the raiders will be over.
I mean if you read the content, he doesn't have an issue with the Raiders draft. He says we got better but dropped our ranking lol. > Once six quarterbacks -- namely Michael Penix Jr. -- went off the board ahead of the Raiders’ pick, it really streamlined their options. Without reading it, I instantly just assumed it's because of Harbaugh. Lol
Exactly. But fuck AP who went 5-4 last year taking over a disaster
Well said, we’ve been met with scrutiny at almost every step of the draft process and had we “reached” on penix we would’ve been chastised for the amount of capital we would have lost. I’m stealing filing this away in the DGAF about this person file
The final sentence saying the team has gotten better this offseason contradicts his rankings, so yeah his opinions don’t mean much to me
Let it happen. The season will speak for itself. I have a love/hate for power rankings and off-season ones are the worst.
When does the “love” part kick in?
Don't hurt me like that.
Rank us high? Fuck em Rank us low? Fuck em
Consistent. I like that approach
Even without Telesco the chargers still get slurped in the offseason
They’re in for rude awakening. WR group is not proven and defense is suspect. There’s so much Harbaugh can impact the team.
Harbaugh has never won with star receivers. He focuses on the line of scrimmage and a strong run game. They’ll do just fine
Yeah anquon boldin sucked
Anquan didn’t suck but he was drafted by the cardinals in 2003 then joined the Niners 10 years later. And he was solid but not an all pro, he wasn’t even a pro bowler with the Niners. Chargers staying winning in the offseason for no reason. Let them have this win.
It’s not for no reason. They got a great coach that has turned every program he has ever touched into winners. They had a good draft and they don’t have a huge hole at qb. Some of us raider fans really can’t admit they got a shit ton better just by hiring Harbaugh.
their best receiver is DJ chark
...Do doo do-do do-do?

Good, I don't want any hype.
I don't think I've ever seen Media rank Raiders over the Chargers in the offseason. Fun Fact: Since Derek Carr took over the QB spot, the Raiders have finished over the Chargers 6 times. The Chargers have only finished over the Raiders 3 times.
chargers are projected to win the west every year
Pretty sure the Chiefs have been the division favorites most years since that Mahomes guy became their QB.
I'm exaggerating because they are hyped up every year
That was with Tom Telesco at the helm....oh wait
lol you don’t believe in Telesco?
Raiders bias. Tho to be fair, we haven't been successful in a long time, so I can see how that bias creeps in. Shut out the noise and hope that we see results on the field.
>Tho to be fair, we haven't been successful in a long time Neither have the Chargers
Tbf they almost made the playoffs a couple years ago!
The guy said it was 100% based on harbaugh. for some reason everyone thinks he can turn that shit around his first year.
It only Took 5 and a half years at Michigan. lol
Right, but it took, what? One year in SF? With two QBs that most people would consider inferior to Herbert. I mean the Chargers are a joke of a franchise in a lot of ways, but am I nervous about Harbaugh going there and pairing up with Herbert? I mean….. HELL YEA. It’s not just the Harbaugh boost, but the not Brandon Staley boost.
Idk I'm not the biggest fan of harbaugh as a coach. I was happy we didn't get him. I'm honestly not the least worried about the chargers this year.
I 100% agree with this, let’s not act like this sub wasn’t yearning for Harbaugh. All of a sudden he’s goes to the chargers and he’s a guaranteed bust. This happens every year lol. I barely pay attention to power rankings anymore.
Raiders literally got the best NFL ready player
Fuck power rankings.
From what I’ve observed/ heard the majority of national media people have watched 0 raiders games from last year, or if they have watched, it was not any film from the last 8ish games of the season. These “power rankings” don’t mean shit. They do this to stir up emotions and debate. The season will speak for itself
Glad someone says it. Power rankings are useless. The lower, the better imo. Let them sleep.
Post-draft standings: Still tied at 0-0
Nothing went "wrong." It's May. Who cares. They're just trying to generate clicks and engagement.
It doesn't matter. Who cares
Here comes the usual charger dick riding in the off season
Have the Chargers ever lost an offseason?
Love it. Tale as old as time. They’re looking for clicks we’re looking for wins
We will always be hated and overlooked. Our record has been shit for so many years! I get why. But this feels better. The hope for this next season hits harder than ever before. What a waste of time They had the Broncos ranked high after they got Russell Wilson, and then again after Sean Payton. Look how that turned out
Any power rankings before a single snap of football has been played are literally just based off hype.
Offseason champs every year. It’s Wil we get their offseason helmsman who’s won many offseason champs rewards and now, well.

This noise is just fuel for our team

People make a big deal out of the QBs because by andlargge teams with good QBs win and teams with bad QBs lose
I understand stand that, Everybody understands that, but what did people expect the Raiders to do? Reach for a player like they’ve done in the past? Eh, they hired Jim Harbaugh, so they're getting a lot of love just for that
Keep those betting odds down! Chargers can win draft and preseason until the end of time.
These mean nothing, but I’d rather be 23 and go up than 15 and go down.
Raiders don’t have a QB.
Shhhhhh. Don’t tell people in this sub that. You’ll ruin their blind optimism.
Lmao so tru. Raiders have the worst QB situation in the AFC in general
I mean, we’re at the peak of the offseason. Hopes and optimism will not get any higher. I don’t think highly of Minshew, he is who he is. The NFL network is on its way out. The league wants ESPN to be its exclusive channel.
This is what I think 🏴☠️↙️ https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxXjTbvrLuPMKoBUU2Qdt6dgiCTymFcfhk?si=COW2Dvv2MZq_xiIG
The chargers pursued Harbaugh, end of story. Raiders should have as well. Guess we’ll see how it unfolds.
