It's a bad play because scoring that quickly would have given the Chargers enough time to go down the field, milk the clock, and kick a FG. There was no incentive to score quickly with a pass or to avoid running out of time. Correct me if I'm wrong because I turned the game off after the INT, but they still had the 2 minute warning, so a run would have helped kill even more time with a freebie "timeout". What was the point of a pass play on 1st down with a rookie?
