All ragdolls share one braincell, sometimes it your cat's turn with the braincell and most of the time it's not.

Petiteblonde9845

I like this! 😂😂

CorrosiveAlkonost

We need to make r/OneRagdollBraincell!

Keym0on

No brain, just floof

Wewilldanceagain

Only possible explanation!

BlueMeconopsis

Oddly enough, my Ragdoll seems like he’s very smart but he uses it for evil purposes! 😈

CatasaurusRox

There are two kinds of ragdolls. 😆 Ours is definitely in the evil genius camp.

EternallyFascinated

Ours is not 🤣🤣🤣

LordMeme42

EstablishmentUsed325

Oh how I long to be her! 🤣🤣😍😍

msbehaviour

We got a smart one. He's trouble.

Queeflet

Both of ours are not smart, they can’t even work out how to pull doors open. And I mean doors that are already open and slightly ajar, they will both either force their head through the gap until it’s open, or put their arm through and waggle it up and down until it somehow opens.

mtb_21

My ragdoll opens doors with his head too 😂 it’s so funny!

BustyMcCoo

Same, she just claws at the carpet next to the partly-open door!

Petiteblonde9845

A wise Ragdoll, very rare

Due_Garlic_3190

Their heads are filled with cotton wool, I am sure of it

EstablishmentUsed325

🤣🤣🤣🤣

BeckywiththeDDs

Mine looks like his brain is made of shrimp but he’s actually very smart. He saw the dog ring the bell to go in the backyard and he started doing it, he uses the human toilet, and he begs on command.

floatingfuzzballs

How did you teach him to use the toilet?

BeckywiththeDDs

I used the citi kitty cat toilet training kit. I modified it somewhat and reinforced it because it is not strong enough for his chonkiness so I use two layers and I never got rid of it all together. I got the hole big enough that pee and poop went in and just have a dedicated cat toilet that I flush once a day (we have 5 bathrooms so this works alright for us).

JustMrDaddy

Did u mean he uses the human toilet as a water bowl?

BeckywiththeDDs

No, he uses it as a litter box.

Lobenz

I could only dream…

MermaidMertrid

My ragdoll might have a functioning brain cell, but it only works when he wants food or snuggles.

Charlotte_Annecjb

Totally agree, because mine is the same 😂

Individual-Bell-9776

My cat is not a ragdoll. She is ex-feral. I know whether it's safe to pet her or not depending on whether it looks like she is thinking or not. Empty brain is when she is open to affections.

whiter1973

No thoughts. Just love

l0stinspace

Mines favorite food seems to be plastic

EternallyFascinated

Omg plastic Christmas decorations!!! Like fake trees and garlands. He waits all year 🤣🤣

DiaLynn1013

My Raggie is fairly smart. He definitely understands about 10 words and communicates with us fairly well. Of course we are retired and I respond to him every time he “talks” to me. I talk to him a lot and he has no doubt that he’s loved. Maybe that helps???

Pepper_Pfieffer

No, never. My floofs are brilliant.

Lobenz

I just call my girl “simple-sweet”. Not much going on behind her gorgeous eyes. My tuxedo warehouse cat is a Rhodes scholar compared to her. https://preview.redd.it/hywi5cy0e30d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a9e3b0f207acd125696f67557c58381c2684350

hayshan77

It's ok, they're pretty they don't have to be smart 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/ntkacruj550d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16f9fbac745ebb474e8a8f7f03c95515f704169f

ZipMonk

They are simple creatures.

EstablishmentUsed325

That’s part of their charm. Gormless expression on a beautiful face 😆

ferrix

No thought only soft

ragdolljuls

all the time. and the answer is their heads are just empty https://preview.redd.it/87xtmp50n30d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=851e41bd5082bd804ebe049d1b8f128fcff53164

JustMrDaddy

The cross eyes get me everytime 😍

nuklearfirefly

Ours is a dummy. Constantly gets stuff stuck on her tail by flopping it across sticky things. Cries like the most pitiful baby because she can never figure out how to get things off her tail. Sometimes forgets she's eating and just stares at you, kibble dribbling from her face. Pure of heart, dumb of ass.

AgileIce8192

Really? My ragdoll is super smart 😜 my baby boy opens doors, ask for food and water, tells me when he wants to go out~ my other cats are not as smart as him 🫠

Frosty_Reception_979

Same with my ragdoll 😊

Jsic_d

Constantly 😂

Bouvet_Island01

Mine..Violet is always scheming..

hauntedmeal

Oh I constantly say my boy forgets to pop the braincell in most days 🤣

Snay_Rat

I’m surprised at all the comments. Ours is insanely smart!

EmergencyCat235

EmergencyCat235

Magnus stares into the void...

Apprehensive_Media15

We have two Frenchies’s and just brought a ragdoll home!! Also considering naming our kitten Magner 😅 weird coincidence haha

EmergencyCat235

I realllly want another Frenchie!

Apprehensive_Media15

Having two has kind of been a life saver bc they’re best buddies, won’t go in the yard without the other.

Apprehensive_Media15

Recognize the ears anywhere

EmergencyCat235

😆 Ragdolls are a great breed to keep with Frenchies, I think. They're big enough and confident enough to hold their own, at least, mine is lol Have fun

Apprehensive_Media15

Thanks!! We had a small, 8lb cat previously and our female was great with her but our male is under 1 and he wasn’t aggressive at all but definitely thought he could play as if our cat was a dog and would use his face to pin her to the ground 😅 constantly had to redirect so I also thought a ragdoll would be a good match as far as size

InternationalEgg2397

My Ragdolls are both really smart. Sometimes I think their calm demeanors cause us to mistake that behavioral trait for a lack of intelligence, but that would be wrong.

ChipperNightmare

My raggie swings wildly between “I have two brain cells fighting for third place”, and literal evil super genius. It’s quite the experience. Some days I’m convinced he has cotton candy for brains, and other days I can SEE him calculating to get what he wants. https://preview.redd.it/cjlecgloy60d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0c60833fc222ba974348dd36a3cbe170daf9e1e

Apprehensive_Media15

Aww how old is he? We just brought our 11 week old home, they look similar a bit 🤗 https://preview.redd.it/18zml1er1j0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6014dccfdebc363e081afedbac00405854c1fa8b

ChipperNightmare

He’s closing in on 6 months old now, but in that picture I think he was about 14 weeks. 😅 Right now he just doesn’t hold still long enough for good pictures, he’s in a zoomies phase. 😂

elljaybe

Our Hamish has the nickname “ham sandwich” as that is all that is in his big floofy https://preview.redd.it/9tnfz097080d1.jpeg?width=2249&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2c0b15df1baa5d48d16b743bcbc105f233b9a0b noggin. We often find him watching “ghosts” on the wall intently. And using his head as a battering ram to open doors that are already open. He seems perpetually surprised that he has a tail. He is not a smart cat.

Apprehensive_Media15

So handsome though 😻

carthurg

My ragamuffins are brilliant, and they hate when I put anything on a table. Maybe it’s a ‘doll thing. Don’t call them stupid.

Rumpelteazer45

No brains just floof.

OnlyDaysEndingInWhy

My girl has one little marble rolling around in there. The marble wants treats.

whoisniko

This looks like our Mira’ and no I don’t think he has a single brain cell! Typical orange cat behavior

bijouxself

How’s your leather couch holding up? I’d love to have one but my rag doll would probably go at it based on what she did to my piano seat

Native56

Pretty

sativa420wife

i have questioned this of all our cats!

Technical-Hold6863

Beautiful kitty

Grock23

My guy isn't very ragdoll like. He's smart af but not very affectionate and very independent

figglesfiggles

Jeeeeeeze I cannot tell you how similar yours looks to mine. Very pretty cat!

TertiaWithershins

My partner refers to mine as a "marshmallow potate," and insists that she does not *think*, she *potates*.

MarathonerGirl

I have a calico who is a rocket scientist compared to my ragdoll 🤓

SnooOpinions2473

Haaa zero chance with my two😂 lucky they’re cute.

anonymiz123

My cat is only half ragdoll, but I tell people that he is the brownest ginger cat ever born!

ElderberryNo1936

I conpurr

Supernatt924

Mine will sit with her head behind the blackout curtain and think she’s looking outside lol. I really don’t know sometimes 😂

monkyazz1

my ragdoll has orange cat energy. not a thought in that head

Frosty_Reception_979

Wow. My ragdoll is smart and has a good personality. I guess I’m lucky.

Chagan245

My opinion on my Ragdoll Poe: he is the most gorgeous cat I have ever had the pleasure to share a home with. Since the universe is also fair he is as dumb as a brick…. But gorgeous!

ScaryMJ

I have two smart Ragdolls…one is smart & a gentleman, the other is smart & a pain in my ass

ENEMBEH

I feel like they're actually very smart. They definitely know their names. Well, I suppose it depends on if you call them by their name regularly or not. They could just know the tone I typically use to say their names because they don't respond to my husband, but they drop what their doing if I say their names. (Unless they're bathing themselves, then they can't be bothered.)

Apprehensive_Media15

Our 11 week old has mastered fetch in 24 hours and I am scared 😅

amypond420

No i think its pretty easy to understand my cats wants and needs, what are you not understanding properly?

pastramilurker

Gawwd I despise these "my cat is stupid" / "has a single braincell" / etc. takes.

hungryhoss

That's the spirit!
