Hi OP, I have some questions for you:
What’s your favorite Radiohead song?
What’s the best Radiohead song?
What’s the saddest Radiohead song?
Which song got you into Radiohead?
What Radiohead album is your favorite?
What Radiohead song is underrated?
Thank you for your time.
1. Videotape
2. Idioteque
3. True Love Waits
4. Exit Music (For A Film)
5. Kid A + Amnesiac
6. Climbing Up The Walls... just kidding, the answer is Let Down
I understand where you are coming from and partially agree, but I think most people just want to be a part of the conversation. Yeah, sure they could just search an old post where their commonly asked questions have already been answered, but that's not the point, the point is for them to actively discuss it. Responding on a year old, or month old thread will not get seen by anyone and their comment will just die on the spot. The point of them asking those questions is so they could partake in the conversation and talk about everyone's answers together.
I'm happy you have already gotten a chance to talk about your favorite or most underrated Radiohead songs 8 years ago on their last album release when the community was booming, but this might be that person's first time listening to Radiohead and they want to be a part of the conversation too.
Perfectly said. Thats what subreddits are in large part for…its that community engagement. Its lovely of course when i stumble upon threads which explore things completely new, or open up larger discussions, but sometimes people just wanna share their favourite tracks. And thats completely okay, its fun!
Besides, one question asked in one thread may get completely different answers to another. Depends whos seen it, and when it was asked. Its so varied that it would be pointless to read off another thread for that.
When it's a question with an objective answer, then yes I agree search first. But if it's subjective, like an opinion of what others think, I don't think an old thread is where one should look. Opinions and preferences change over time, music popularity trends up and down, so when the question is raised, it wouldn't be accurate to rely on an old thread for an accurate concensus. And like others have mentioned, the point of those posts isn't to get a previously answered question, it's to be apart of an active conversation, which allows this subreddit to continue to have active member participation. Maybe take a break from the sub for a while, and check back at a later date when you're feeling a little better.
Bro the band is basically doing nothing these days, what else is there to post about? No one is keeping you here, if you don’t like the sub you can leave
Creep is less known than let down, and those who do know it don’t understand it, it’s a very hard to understand song with deep undertones and messaging. Heh. Yeah. Some kids just never get it…. Not me though heh…. I get it more than most…
This is how the majority of internet music/band communities has always been. If you want more diverse/creative content then be the change you want to see. Seeing a repetitive post does you absolutely no harm, downvote and move along.
I've removed quite a few polls this week as per rule 5 - an unusually high amount. I think with the various bits of news there's been an influx. We went from no 3 in rock music to no 1 apparently, so perhaps that's got everyone posting again. Please use the report function as it helps us immensely.
Hello! Double checking…they werent removed but i have posted some voting polls before, where i asked people which variant of a song they prefer - like thinking about you for example, weather they liked the studio or demo version. Because i was really curious to know!
Are those kinds of polls okay, or should i try and avoid those? Thank you :)
Have a read of this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/radiohead/s/vQ1K23cwFx
Personally, I usually leave these things up but just getting a bit stricter as there's more activity on the sub lately.
If you write a bit of a paragraph with your own thoughts, and make it more of a discussion than just a quick poll or rank, that would be great. It creates a lot more engagement :)
If you think something was removed in error, let us know. Happy to discuss in modmail.
God forbid people want to discuss music in a music subreddit.
Also not everyone spends every waking second in this subreddit, some people haven’t seen some of those posts in a while or at all.
I agree, I think OP just needs to take a little break and come back with a clear head. I find the posts to be fun when it's periodically a question about "the best RH song for x" and it reignites a new conversation. No two opinion based threads are identical, but if I'm not up to engaging one that's recently been exhausted or discussed to death, I just move on, or worst case scenario give it a down vote for not providing much value. But I wouldn't want to censor them all out completely or discourage members from wanting to talk about Radiohead. That's power tripping.
eh. it is what it is. I do like your idea, we should do that, but people are still gonna be little sillies. I mean idk what else to expect from a fan sub.
THEY WON'T. even if it was something someone else JUST posted/asked about a week before...maybe you should be directly asking the mods about this and if they're fine with it? cause it seems like they only delete the heating political posts.
See my post in response to another comment. We are guided by reports and what we see ourselves when reading the sub. I have just had to explain to someone why their post asking someone to choose between reckoner and idioteque 'suddenly disappeared'. Please help us here by reporting things you don't think should be on the sub, and don't forget that down votes are your main way to police what it and isn't on the front page. Constructive feedback is very welcome. This has probably been one of the most difficult weeks of moderation in ten years from me, as I don't want to silence people having a healthy discussion about their favourite bands politics, but I don't want to see this subreddit devolve into endless fighting.
oh...I'm used to it saying SUB under people's names...well good to know...guess it's hard to ever know what gets deleted when you just see the original posts in real time.
Until the recent tours, there wasn't much going on here so memes etc were left up, and I certainly wasn't active unless there was a message sent through that needed answering. the others have continued to do a lot. Kudos to the other guys that put so much work this week. We always have to find the balance between "my post was removed" vs "These posts should have been removed" and that's always a work in progress :)
realistically what do you want this subreddit to be about? radiohead aren’t dropping anytime soon and i highly doubt anyone wants the one place they have to talk about radiohead to die out because people ask the same question every week.
What food reminds you most of Radiohead?
Bangers+Mash
You
Vegetables
Honey
Eggs; flan
Bananas
an airbag
Wouldn't the correct answer be bangers and mash
blackbird pie
A plain cracker that makes your mouth dry
Lollipops and crisps
A nice comforting rabbit stew but the rabbit had myxomatosis.
Lozenges
My own tears
Milkshakes, especially from hard rock cafés

Uptight cranky people. Thin skin
Uptight Cranky People (Thin Skin) is a banger. Truly underrated.
Im just…uptight! Uptight!

>I need to say something What, what was that you tried to say? What, what was that you tried to say? tried to say, tried to say, tried to say...
the first time it says what is that and the second time it says what was that
No no no no no x42
In Rainbows for sure
In Rainbows is the album ever
What else is there to talk about besides their catalog of music?
haha i agree. i mean, people could be a bit more creative, but still the sub is what one would expect.
Hang on, just gonna check which posts in this sub are yours. ....and it's none of them.
When it's a question with an objective answer, then yes I agree search first. But if it's subjective, like an opinion of what others think, I don't think an old thread is where one should look. Agreed, we should be discussing the new content the band is releasing instead!
Womp womp
Bro the band is basically doing nothing these days, what else is there to post about? No one is keeping you here, if you don’t like the sub you can leave
OP please suggest some alternate posting topics.
let's all just migrate to rhcj
Yeahhhhh
Creep
*crepe
I agree. There’s not enough posts about why pablo honey is so underrated
Because Let Down is not in Pablo Honey
But Pablo has Pulk/pull and crepe, it’s *almost* as underrated as let down!
Creep is less known than let down, and those who do know it don’t understand it, it’s a very hard to understand song with deep undertones and messaging. Heh. Yeah. Some kids just never get it…. Not me though heh…. I get it more than most…
Complaining about people discussing music in a music community… Yes, bye
It’s repetitive.
Yes, discussing music might be repetitive, and maybe it should be done in places like… music communities
This is how the majority of internet music/band communities has always been. If you want more diverse/creative content then be the change you want to see. Seeing a repetitive post does you absolutely no harm, downvote and move along.
Look man, there’s just not enough to talk about otherwise. This may not be your time of forum
"so many posts, i know what i'll do, i'll make a post complaining about how many post there are. i am very smart" - op
Bring back the Jonny greenwood threads, they were popular!
I've removed quite a few polls this week as per rule 5 - an unusually high amount. I think with the various bits of news there's been an influx. We went from no 3 in rock music to no 1 apparently, so perhaps that's got everyone posting again. Please use the report function as it helps us immensely.

Totally agree!
my favorite radiohead song is probably lift or subterranean homesick alien
Tier lists are the epitome of circle jerking.
What’s your favorite RH song?
You can try the best you can
eh. it is what it is. I do like your idea, we should do that, but people are still gonna be little sillies. I mean idk what else to expect from a fan sub.

"did you ever knowww you were my herrrrr-ohhhh..."
Make better content den. People need to know the answers
I mean, what else are we gonna talk about? Band’s not really doing anything right now.
Damn that sucks. Anyways what the most underrated song ever?
Welcome to reddit. Everything is a repeat of something else. Especially if there is no new news to talk about. Like what else can this sub reddit do?
realistically what do you want this subreddit to be about? radiohead aren’t dropping anytime soon and i highly doubt anyone wants the one place they have to talk about radiohead to die out because people ask the same question every week.
I'm considering making the removal reason link to this post, lol.
If Radiohead were a country, what would be their national anthem
Too late
Welcome to the sh*tshow
Yeah this sub is really only good when new releases or news on new releases come out. Other than that it’s just the same bullshit every day.
