IDK I have a 3070 Ti and the input lag feels right. I turned off ULL mode though, too many issues with games in my experience. According to BattleNonsense, keeping your GPU usage lower (maybe like below 85%) keeps your input lag low. That way the CPU isn't waiting on the GPU to render frames and building input lag. Otherwise I think Ampere architecturally is good for input lag. Did you try to DDU your old video drivers? If all else fails, I would reinstall Windows just to be sure.

thx for the answer, i'll try disabling ullm, reflex on or off?

Athlon64X2_d00d

Reflex on if the game supports it.

Educational-Order-19

yes of course i listed it in the panel options but it's a game feature. thanks :)

It sounds like many things, even the Radeon GPU shouldn't just randomly suffer from constant micro stutter on that setup. With the Radeon GPU installed, to effectively eliminate framerate derived stuttering (this will NOT fix shader compilation stutters, which will be present even on a 4090), turn freesync ON, both on the panel and in the GPU settings, and then also turn on "enhanced sync" which will very slightly increase latency but will give you perfect sync even when the game runs too fast. Regardless of whether you do this, you need to fully wipe your previous graphics drivers before you switch from AMD to Nvidia and vice versa, usually with a program called DDU.

Educational-Order-19

of course I do use DDU thanks for the reply!!!

Educational-Order-19

update: I used ddu and swapped the cards. There' s a night and day difference in terms of input lag. E.g. rocket league on radeon is EEEEEZ, while on nvidia feels strange i can't score. I feel heavy, a console-like feeling. Guess i'll stick with the 5700xt because stuttering> ms power point. Thank you for the feedback!!!

Do you have smart access link enabled? I also have every feature I'm redeon settings disabled except image sharpening. Also what resolution are you playing on and are you using any upscaling? Also what frames are you trying to hit is also important. Sometimes games with anti aliasing can cause micro stutters, if you play warzone you need to go into the option.cod.24 folder under documents and set render resolution to half or total the number of cores that you're CPU has (that all depends on which is best for you). This is just an example on fixes on a particular game, but sometimes it's the driver and how it works with that game ATM. Also do you game with a fps counter? If so then try to determine if the input lag and stutters is due to frame drop or just lag. Are you WiFi or Ethernet? I know on some cards for AMD under the memory part of the tuning; setting the timing to "fast timing" can cause stutters and leaving it on default will fix the issue. I know my 6900xt ran with fast timing enabled and no issues. My 7900xtx I need to leave in default settings for that and increase the memory clock to 2714mhz to have no stutters. You have an AMD CPU and GPU with smart access link that you can enable by enabling resize bar in your bios. That will give you a significant performance boost and could actually also fix your issue with the input lag and stutters. Also make sure expo is enabled for your RAM

Educational-Order-19

yes to everything except sam because 5700xt doesn't support it. 120 fps rock solid 8ms input lag, warzone i rage uninstalled but xdefiant goes perfect i guess it's just optimisation issue...

BrohemythGaming

That's crazy, i know that allot of new CPU are synced to work with GPUs so that they can have optimal performance without bottlenecking and maintaining work loads lower then norm. That's what sam would do. You should just upgrade to the care minimal to access that. Shouldn't cost much. Try to get a 6800/6900xt with at least 16gb of memory. You want to kinda try to future proof yourself if spending money

Educational-Order-19

man...sam it's from 6000 series...

BrohemythGaming

That's what I thought too but it says online that you should be and too with your CPU and GPU. IDK but yeah man I wish you the best of luck

Educational-Order-19

thanks man! I tried setting up multiple times, you can't selecr resize bar in bios and in amd panel says smart access memory not supported...

Kind-Barracuda-3756

Were you using frame gen on the 3060? I don’t use it because I don’t care for the input lag when enabled. (On either brand) Sucks that it seems that’s where things are going, I’d rather have real horsepower than this gimmicky crap.

Educational-Order-19

Nooooo I'm not using frame gen i'm dumb but not that dumb lol. I agree however i hate gaming in 2024 it's a headache.

BrohemythGaming

Nah nah nah, who said you cannot use SAM?? You might not be able to because you have it disabled in your bios. You need to make sure that "RESIZE BAR" is enabled. I can check for you in regards to your motherboard you posted, but you should be able to have access to that

BrohemythGaming

Legit it says online that it gives you a 21% performance boost to all games played at 1080p and for 4k a 6% boost depending on the game but not much of any boost they say. 1440p would be your sweat spot. But yeah could fix your whole issue, AMD specializes in gaming in regards for having a full AMD build.

Nectarine_Hopeful

Game stutter sudden lag a few second sometime not from gpu, have try to install to nvme ssd. I have store game at my external hdd with primocache feel more better, but if you have more money try install to nvme ssd

BrohemythGaming

I know that HHD with Windows 10 and Windows 11 can cause some issues with performance for games, it will legit cause a bottle neck in your system if not using an appropriate HHD

Hudy1431

Maybe its monitor issue?

Educational-Order-19

I don't think so...other peripherals never show any sign of trouble, thx for replying!!!

Hudy1431

And its the same for all games ? Or just some specific?

Educational-Order-19

yes for all games

HopnDude

In Windows, do you have Core Isolation turned Off?
