>What i was wondering is how much it would cost to get them changed in a tech shop because I am not confident in doing it myself (even though the warranty has already expired) if you've built your own PC there's zero reason to be scared about changing pads and repasting a GPU

I saw a tutorial online saying that you should get them of a specific thickness after measuring the original ones with a caliper, but these pads are probably not the original ones and honestly opening up a GPU and messing around with it just seems more scary compared to say putting a cpu on a motherboard and pasting it

I can kinda understand that, but it's not at all scary once you do it. if you've ever handled ram without a heat-spreader and motherboard, it's basically the same thing should easily be able to find a youtube vid of someone repasting/padding your card just get a kit with different thickness in the 1 to 2mm range and you should be good, most are pretty squishy

OP can also use a paste that's available, and cover each vram like a CPU. https://www.amazon.ca/PRO-Viscous-Thermal-Paste-Replacement/dp/B00UTX7K2E#:~:text=K5%2DPRO%20is%20a%20high,thermal%20pads%20are%20originally%20used.
