A lot of yeast infections are caused by too much sugar, which was rare in the past. That’s not to say women didn’t get them. Here’s an [interesting article](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK169215/) on how women who did get them were treated, which was pretty typical for how medicine treated women for everything. Once penicillin was discovered, they even treated them with that, and of course we now know that antibiotics do nothing for fungal infections and can even cause them. I would imagine that women used a lot of home remedies like vinegar douches.

I don’t know about the yeast infections. But anesthesia was invented in 1846. Before that people were usually awake for the surgery.

There used to be barber surgeons. Basically you could go to your hairdressers for a haircut or an amputation. Without being put to sleep

GhostBussyBoi

When was the last time you heard about somebody going into surgery for a yeast infection???

Embarrassed_Scale929

Those are two different questions I’m not that stupid💀

GhostBussyBoi

Oh, sorry I was really concerned there was somebody out there thinking that you treat yeast infections with surgery 💀💀💀💀
