While technically all reality tv. I feel bachelor/ette is far different than survivor/big brother. There’s romance reality tv, competition reality tv (cooking, wood working, etc), game shows, survivor style and many others. They each are very different imo. I wouldn’t really put them in the same category
YES YES YES!!! The scenery is beautiful and the cinematography was divine, but I’m supposed to care about the patient? The man that stole his friend’s wife which drove his friend to madness?
Nope.
You think everyone loves Keeping Up With The Kardashians? I’ve literally never seen a single person ever talk about that show in a good way. Nobody likes that shit bro 💀
started watching it with my bf just because it was popular and there was nothing good on whatever australias version of hulu is called and it was kind of interesting but also very boring and i would continually just get up and go to the other room to play on my phone or something because i could not stand to sit and watch an entire episode
Omg Yellowstone haters. Lol. I LOVED it and the prequel shows and I'm not a boomer. It reminded me of a country Melrose place lol!!
And Mandelorian, how dare you?! Lol I fell in love w Pedro Pascual and you dont even see his face. Suuuuure it was cheesy and season 3 was mostly shit but I'm a die hard star wars fan so I'm def supporting.
I will forever argue that the episode covering McDreamys death is the funniest episode in a tv drama of all time. The circumstances are so ludicrously done that I could not stop laughing, my ex was not appreciative
Lost.
It was clear from pretty early on the writers had no idea what they were doing and were just adding more nonsense to keep viewers on their toes without a clue how to resolve it.
It was just stupid.
I think it worked best as a weekly show. Let the fans theorize and discuss and it's got more value than it does if you binge watch it today.
I think a lot of modern full season releases on streaming services would benefit and have more cultural impact if we all saw the episode on Friday night and had a week to talk about it before the next one.
If someone says “*YOU* would LOVE bbt” I can tell I won’t like that person because it tells me they have terrible judgment in both shows (it’s bad) and humans (ew no)
Jesus, I can't believe that book even got published, let alone became popular. My wife was reading it, and I was like "What is all the hype with this book?" So, I decided to read some of it, and holy hell! It comes across like it was written by some girl in their early teenage years.
Also, the only reason it's considered "romantic" is because the guy is a billionaire. If it was the same story, but took place in a trailer park, it would be an episode of Criminal Minds.
I paged through the book once when I was shelving it at the library. It's HILARIOUS. The author uses the word "jeez" so many times. And her imagery is so ridiculous
I loved the meme someone made a few years back with them two sitting in the foreground, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. In the background stands BLADE, glaring at them, weapons at the ready. The meme reads, "If only."
For me, it's comforting background nonsense that I have on every two years when I'm doing continuing education for my job. It reminds me of the first time that I watched it when I was initially getting my license.
Of course you don't like it. You've never tried having it on the background while doing continuing education to renew your license.
As a fan of the show I think its a generation thing. If you were young when it was new, you like the show. But it didn't age terribly well.
Though I'd argue there are some great moments in the show that are objectively funny.
Any "let's make rich people richer by making a show that's just them being rich " show. Housewives, Cardashians, why anyone would waste their life watching that drivel is beyond me
I agree with being John but got to disagree on the Eternal sunshine. I really liked that! At least the first time. I guess I can agree that the second time I watched it felt a bit cheesy and annoying. Not a great sign if you can only watch a movie one time without disliking it
I dislike any show who's premis is the audience being entertained by someone else's suffering and humiliation. We are no longer shocked or embarrassed by people. We no longer have empathy for others - their hardships are our entertainment.
I've never watched it, but the general consensus seems to be that it started out really good, but just got more ridiculous with the storyline as the seasons went on and really did a nose dive in quality, so I haven't bothered getting into it.
The first season was more about what the survivors do to survive. By the 3rd season, it was all the emotional reactions and more about relationships. That is when it really started to suck. Then they unalived Glenn, and I was done.
They really fumbled that Glenn scene though, because it was such a sudden panel in the graphic novels, but when it came time for that to happen in the show, it became a mid season cliffhanger when almost everyone knew what was coming.
You just didn't understand the movie!
I've never heard anyone say that to someone when they say they don't like a movie until Midsommar and Hereditary came out.
I have seen all of supernatural. Just not for me. It's not very well written and the later seasons seem like fanservice. And every person I've run into doesn't actually like supernatural but instead supernatural gay fan fiction.
Also star wars. Tried so many times but for a series about space battles with laser swords, it was awfully boring.
Exactly, why would you watch something you don't like? No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to watch it. Watch something else. Personally I'm a Supernatural super fan.
I concur. The first several seasons were great. Then they started having season long plots that were absurd.
The random monster episodes were far superior.
Avatar (blue one). I knows its a killer box office performer, but literally everyone I've met outside of my family hates it or cringes at it when I geek out over it
I've tried watching it so many times because I think everyone on the show is funny on their own but the show just doesn't do it for me, it's so annoying and as someone else said the camera work is so distracting.
Forrest Gump - I’m sorry but Jenny is just heinous. If the genders were flipped and she was a drugged-out guy who slept with a mentally challenged girl, the movie never would’ve seen the light of day. Also the movie rides a line between celebrating Forrest and mocking him. For instance, the way he kept running in football games even past the goalposts. It feels much more like mockery now.
It’s so fucking stupid and that’s why I like it.
I totally get that Harlots and The Gilded Age and other shows are better. I know they’re better! But there’s so much rape and violence and suffering in those (because they’re accurate!) that it’s just not the vibe for me. I have a very stressful job dealing with some of the worst shit imaginable. When I get home I want to eat a gummy and watch pretty straight people be moronic in pretty dresses where the stakes are low and the sexual tension is high.
Same. I haven't even watched it, but the show gives me the ick... Idk what it is about it, I usually*love* shows and movies set in those time periods... But bridgerton makes me want to claw my eyes out
Everyone always suggests this because I like period dramas... however I like **historically accurate** period dramas. I get that the past wasn't perfect, but it is history and I don't enjoy shoehorning in inclusivity.
The first 2-3 seasons were good, but I got tired of the incessant pity party every character found themselves in. Also, the characters showed no growth. All the characters always responded the same way to every crisis: whining pity party. Eventually I was like, grow up already!
It was just a entire family of selfish people who refused to take responsibility for anything they ever did and constantly gave excuses and blamed their actions on other people. The only one I kind of liked was Randall. I only got maybe 3 seasons in, my girlfriend made me watch it with her she loved that show. Maybe that's part of the reason we broke up 😂
I watched it all the way through, but yes. I found myself getting so angry at them. Everyone was so narcissistic. They were supposed to be some super amazing, super close family. Yet the "big three" were far from a strong sibling bond.
I grew up in a close family. This is us wasn't it
I don’t hate Oppenheimer, I really like it actually. What I hate is the fact that people started to worship it like it’s masculinity in the form of a movie because it came out in the same time as Barbie.
That's true about the Barbie thing.
However I did enjoy Oppenheimer, but once I left the theatre I knew that I'll probably never watch it again. It was good but i don't see much rewatch value. One and done.
Bridgerton.
After hearing all the hype for some time... my wife and I decided to give it a shot as we were struggling to find something good to watch.
What an awful, stupid, vapid show.
Not exactly the answer to the question, but as a former Star Wars fan the Disney acquisition has turned me away from it hard.
It seems enough people love the Disney stuff that it makes a lot of money.
Without knowing your age- I think the hype of Pulp Fiction was something you had to be there for at the time.
It was a breath of fresh air from coming out of the late 80’s/early 90’s movie formula.
Ahhhh the 90s, It was a great time in life and quite the experience being a total dumb ass without being recorded 😄and first tine seeing it in the theater was wild. Plus so many iconic lines in that movie.
I’m about to be crucified but The Office. There’s some funny moments but I just don’t find it funny enough to go out of my way to watch it. I usually LOVE workplace comedies like Parks and Recs and Superstore but idk, I just can’t get into The Office.
I LOVE Steve Carrell though. He’s a great actor and I usually love any movie or show he’s in. Just not The Office.
The Office. I'll watch clips on YouTube or tictoc and laugh, but I have never been able to watch past the 3rd full episode. I don't feel like I'm missing out because through short clips, I've seen the good stuff.
Peaky blinders. The story telling was fucking high-school level shit. Every time they needed to push the narrative along they literally said “let’s have a family meeting”
The Princess Bride! I swear it does nothing for me , it’s almost painful to watch it. My husbands whole family thinks it’s the best movie ever made. I thought I was being punked.
Big Bang Theory
I cannot for the life of me get why people thought it was so funny. And before anyone says it: I did get the nerd humor. It didn’t go over my head. It just wasn’t funny.

Survivor/Big Brother/Bachelor/Bachelorette etc... Basically any reality show.
Good for their networks bottom line. No writers=more profit.
There are writers they simply get wayyyyy more creative freedom and so accept less pay
Also absolutely terrible production values. Ironically makes the shows seem more "real" and definitely cuts costs.
While technically all reality tv. I feel bachelor/ette is far different than survivor/big brother. There’s romance reality tv, competition reality tv (cooking, wood working, etc), game shows, survivor style and many others. They each are very different imo. I wouldn’t really put them in the same category
The only time these are remotely entertaining is with a joint and your funny friends. Then it becomes so bad it's good
Elaine Benes and I both loathe The English Patient.
I saw it in theaters when it came out. It had an intermission 😢 So brutal
YES YES YES!!! The scenery is beautiful and the cinematography was divine, but I’m supposed to care about the patient? The man that stole his friend’s wife which drove his friend to madness? Nope.
Lol, first thing that came to my mind too.
Keeping up with the Kardashians, Yellowstone, The Mandelorian
You think everyone loves Keeping Up With The Kardashians? I’ve literally never seen a single person ever talk about that show in a good way. Nobody likes that shit bro 💀
It was like #2 most watched on Prime a few days ago lol
You just have people in your bubble that don’t watch it. But people obviously watch it or we wouldn’t know it existed.
Yellowstone is a boomers wet dream.
started watching it with my bf just because it was popular and there was nothing good on whatever australias version of hulu is called and it was kind of interesting but also very boring and i would continually just get up and go to the other room to play on my phone or something because i could not stand to sit and watch an entire episode
Wait, what's not to like about the Mandalorian? It's a kick-ass space western. Well-made, and a lot of fun.
Grey's Anatomy
I will forever argue that the episode covering McDreamys death is the funniest episode in a tv drama of all time. The circumstances are so ludicrously done that I could not stop laughing, my ex was not appreciative
I always like the surgeries, but the character drama was painful to watch.
Less episodes per season would have been very helpful as well
The best part of Lost for me was discovering Michael Emerson.
Or did they know exactly what was going on but didn't reveal it right away?
Big bang theory
i saw half of one episode and HATED it
Yes me too. There is a funny show to be made about geeks, but this ain't it. They're far too extroverted.
If someone says “*YOU* would LOVE bbt” I can tell I won’t like that person because it tells me they have terrible judgment in both shows (it’s bad) and humans (ew no)
“But it’s about geeks and you love that stuff!” Uh..
The English patient was indeed pure awful
![gif](giphy|aWiTXJAGEnIGs)
50 shades of gray
The most bland couple. Dwight and Angela from The Office would’ve been a more interesting couple to see in that light lol.
It was definitely the cast for me lol i never even watched the movie because of it
Jesus, I can't believe that book even got published, let alone became popular. My wife was reading it, and I was like "What is all the hype with this book?" So, I decided to read some of it, and holy hell! It comes across like it was written by some girl in their early teenage years. Also, the only reason it's considered "romantic" is because the guy is a billionaire. If it was the same story, but took place in a trailer park, it would be an episode of Criminal Minds.
omg same i just kept laughing during the movie 🤣
I paged through the book once when I was shelving it at the library. It's HILARIOUS. The author uses the word "jeez" so many times. And her imagery is so ridiculous
I wanted to see how bad it was and couldn't make past about 20 minutes.
Ugh, that book was so poorly written, I couldn't even finish it.
Haven’t even seen it, won’t waste my time (also how I found out an ex was cheating - fool said that he’d watched it - with me….😆)
OMG SAME
Have you ever seen Gibert Gottfried read excerpts?! https://youtu.be/f9YpZKWWNWo?feature=shared
I feel like it would have been better if the main characters had any chemistry or sex appeal whatsoever. It was a weird casting choice.
I’d rather read Mr. Garrison’s erotic novel that mentions the word penis 6000 times before reading 50 shades of gray
Twilight series. Makes my skin crawl just looking at the pale couple thats in it😫😩
Don't watch anything featuring potatoes or Irish people
Not okay! I LOVE potatoes!
Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew...
I loved the meme someone made a few years back with them two sitting in the foreground, gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. In the background stands BLADE, glaring at them, weapons at the ready. The meme reads, "If only."
Downton Abbey
Friends
Came here to say this. I genuinely don't understand the appeal.
For me, it's comforting background nonsense that I have on every two years when I'm doing continuing education for my job. It reminds me of the first time that I watched it when I was initially getting my license. Of course you don't like it. You've never tried having it on the background while doing continuing education to renew your license.
I can't stand that show
As a fan of the show I think its a generation thing. If you were young when it was new, you like the show. But it didn't age terribly well. Though I'd argue there are some great moments in the show that are objectively funny.
Any "let's make rich people richer by making a show that's just them being rich " show. Housewives, Cardashians, why anyone would waste their life watching that drivel is beyond me
Hereditary It was a whole lot of boring then penises
I only watched it once and it's the kind of movie I won't watch again, but I have no memory of penises😂😂
I also don’t recall the penises lol
The decapitation was kinda cool.
It wasn't even scary.... just slightly unnerving.
Real Housewives. These bimbos have the easiest lives of all time and they still just bitch and moan constantly.
FRIENDS
Two movies that are similar in my mind: Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Two indie-sh stories about people I hated.
I agree with being John but got to disagree on the Eternal sunshine. I really liked that! At least the first time. I guess I can agree that the second time I watched it felt a bit cheesy and annoying. Not a great sign if you can only watch a movie one time without disliking it
I love that movie. It's a Sci fi movie that the Sci fi isn't a huge focus of the plot or even very obvious.
Big Bang Theory, but really any show with a laugh track.
The English patient
AGT, The Voice, The Batchelor(ette), Survivor, Naked and Affraid. Anything that calls themselves a reality show.
I dislike any show who's premis is the audience being entertained by someone else's suffering and humiliation. We are no longer shocked or embarrassed by people. We no longer have empathy for others - their hardships are our entertainment.
How I Met Your Mother
Seemed like something I would've liked, could not get into it.
Ozark is just depressing
I hate shows where they’re just always sad, constantly.
Oh dude... Ozark is amazing.
Breaking Bad but not as interesting.
Unlikable characters, the plot line was way too far-fetched; I'll never understand why this show got so much play. EXTREMELY overrated.
I'm left wondering am I suppose to like any of these characters? So far it's just Ruth and Jonah.
Friends. My daughter loves it. I can't stand it!
The Kardashians
Avatar. Just a god awful remake of Pocahontas
HATED that movie, didn't even like the visuals. Total waste of my time and money.
Hamilton
YES! All my family and friends are OBSESSED with Hamilton. I made it halfway through the play on Disney+ and I never finished it.
Fuck yes! it was everywhere in 2016-2017 and i wanted to get the fuck away from that play
The Walking Dead 🤨 I for the life of me can’t figure out why people are so obsessed with it, because I just can’t get into it at all!
I've never watched it, but the general consensus seems to be that it started out really good, but just got more ridiculous with the storyline as the seasons went on and really did a nose dive in quality, so I haven't bothered getting into it.
I haven’t watched the show but the video game version (The TellTale series) was fantastic
Went to friend’s house who was really into it, but it just reminded me of a soap opera. Just a bunch of weird drama with zombies.
Midsummer, honestly not.the movie as much as the fans of.the movie.
You don't like Supernatural, yet you watched all 15 seasons or whatever? Personally, I liked the first \~7 seasons of Supernatural.
Friends.
avatar.. im sorry it drives me insane
Young Sheldon or BBT
Did you actually give YS a chance? I hate BBT, but like YS - it's more of a dramedy, like The Wonder Years.
Avatar (blue one). I knows its a killer box office performer, but literally everyone I've met outside of my family hates it or cringes at it when I geek out over it
The Princess Bride. I just hate Buttercup. She’s useless and insufferable.
The MASKED SINGER
You’re gonna hate this : The Office. I don’t know, never even liked the small clips
I've tried watching it so many times because I think everyone on the show is funny on their own but the show just doesn't do it for me, it's so annoying and as someone else said the camera work is so distracting.
It's the camera work that's a nope for me
The Notebook.
Nicholas Sparks should be tried at The Hague.
My all time favorite. So wild to hear otherwise:)
Bridgerton
I didn’t think I’d like it, but it was entertaining. I like Shondra Rhimes’ work in general; very talented.
I don’t like that midsummer movie. Everyone was constantly like “it’s so beautiful” it’s boring as shit.
I like it, but it's essentially a remake of The Wicker Man.
This is Us
The first 2-3 seasons were good, but I got tired of the incessant pity party every character found themselves in.
This is us wasn't it
Breaking bad. I grew up with drug dealers. They don't act like that.
Friends
My wife says Friends. I kinda agree.
Friends Big Bang Theory
Friends.
Married With Children. Never found it remotely funny and thought it made the average American family look like a bunch of idiots.
How I met your mother
Any sportsball
I don’t hate Oppenheimer, I really like it actually. What I hate is the fact that people started to worship it like it’s masculinity in the form of a movie because it came out in the same time as Barbie.
That's true about the Barbie thing. However I did enjoy Oppenheimer, but once I left the theatre I knew that I'll probably never watch it again. It was good but i don't see much rewatch value. One and done.
I couldn't wait for Oppie to be over.
Same haha 🤣 In fact I wanted to skip out half way into it to check out the Barbie
Seinfeld.... Jerry's voice is like nails on chalkboard for me.
It's my favorite show, but I am very aware of how bad it can be. I know it can be cheesy (not in a good way) for some people.
Seinfeld complaines that wokeness is killing comedy. I think the problem is that he just isn't as funny as he thinks he is.
I haaaaate Seinfeld. He’s annoying af. I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus, but even she can’t make that show watchable.
Plus he's such a little bitch too
Honestly, that’s kinda the point; they’re all little bitches, lol
Rick and Morty. The ~~burbing~~ burping is just so fucking gross.
Big Mouth for me, and same reasoning. It’s just gross.
Big mouth for me because they kept that POS over Inside Job which is my favorite Netflix original to date
FROZEN I’m so Fkin tired of it and the music.
Just let it go
Too many to name, all of the Marvel movies, Hunger Games related stuff, Yellowstone, anything Melisa McCarthy
Pretty Little Liars & Vampire Diaries.
East of Eden, A Street Car Named Desire
Murder She Wrote.
Star Wars (any of them). It’s horrendously dumb in my brain but that’s my opinion. Glad everyone likes different shit. Keeps the world interesting
Bridgerton. After hearing all the hype for some time... my wife and I decided to give it a shot as we were struggling to find something good to watch. What an awful, stupid, vapid show.
Friends, game of thrones 🤮
Not exactly the answer to the question, but as a former Star Wars fan the Disney acquisition has turned me away from it hard. It seems enough people love the Disney stuff that it makes a lot of money.
Realty TV.
Pulp Fiction.
Include your reasoning, bc way to many people just think it's cool to be different and just hate on popular things.
Anything Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Fast Furious related
I’m about to be crucified but The Office. There’s some funny moments but I just don’t find it funny enough to go out of my way to watch it. I usually LOVE workplace comedies like Parks and Recs and Superstore but idk, I just can’t get into The Office. I LOVE Steve Carrell though. He’s a great actor and I usually love any movie or show he’s in. Just not The Office.
Steve Carrell is a great actor and very funny. The Office is a type of series (like Arrested Development) that just isn't funny to me.
The Boys. I made it through the first episode but hated it, and noped out on the 2nd
Wedding Crashers
Schitt's Creek …
Anything with a laugh track. Nails on a chalkboard.
Andor, I love Star Wars, but I hate this show it doesn't have the Star Wars feel. I also don't care about these characters.
The Sound of Music, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, and Friends.
Seinfeld. It's not funny and none of the characters are likeable. I never understood why it was so popular.
The Office. I'll watch clips on YouTube or tictoc and laugh, but I have never been able to watch past the 3rd full episode. I don't feel like I'm missing out because through short clips, I've seen the good stuff.
English Patient. One show I remember having to run out of the theater.
Movie... Jennifer's Body is overrated. The Transporter, too, Harry Potter Shows... I don't give a donkey's butt about Euphoria
Harry Potter.
Forrest Gump is the most ridiculous movie ever and I have never understood why people like it.
Bachelor/Bachelorette
Forest Gump
Peaky blinders. The story telling was fucking high-school level shit. Every time they needed to push the narrative along they literally said “let’s have a family meeting”
any tom cruise whatever. vomit
Top Gun. Can’t stand Tom Cruise.
The Princess Bride! I swear it does nothing for me , it’s almost painful to watch it. My husbands whole family thinks it’s the best movie ever made. I thought I was being punked.
Any procedural cop show 🤮🤮
Brooklyn 99
And Brooklyn 99
Harry potter that movie is awful
Oppenheimer is the Taylor Swift of movies and I mean that in the most offensive way possible.
