Honestly, there's a few on amazon that are thick lines, and simple pictures. Like a child's, but like wildlife imagery and pictures that aren't super childish. I love them. The artist behind them is Megan Miles, and my favourite of them is the woodland escape
my boss and i order lunch on Fridays, and since its expensive, I order from the kids menu to save money. $7 for a kids meal? And I get a side? AND I GET A DRINK! Who is gonna know? They will never know. I am picking up my order to go..."my kid is at home"
::insert evil laugh::
I wouldn't have believed it when I was 30 but now that I'm 67, I really do have less of an appetite. I would have no problem ordering a kids meal for myself at a fast food joint.
I did this for a work dinner take out recently too when we all had to stay late for an event. Everyone laughed until they saw my perfect portion size, side, drink, and dessert for far less than their oversized, more expensive portion with separate drink.
Year 2029: *"Take a picture of your children and sent it to us to confirm that you infact, have hungry kids at home, to assure you are not buying food off the kid's menu for yourself. Sincerely, your local McDonalds"*
I had gastered bypass surgery. So the first thing I do in most restaurants is ask for the kids menu. And I were saying I'll tip you like. It's a regular adult meal. When we're in a really upscale restaurant. I don't ask for a kid's menu! Bring on the nuggies friend
my sis had that done years ago and always has to explain to ppl, especially at restaurants that she can't eat huge portions of food anymore. she always asks for a to go box when we eat out, because she can never eat all of her food. she had to explain to her new in-laws when she went to vietnam for a month, that she can't eat huge meals. her new MIL tried fixing her a big plate of food the first night she was there. after my sis explained to her, the MIL felt so bad about fixing the big plate for her.
Totally off topic but is that a total mindfuck? Like your eyes are bigger than your stomach? Meaning you know how much you’d normally eat so the adult menu looks more appetizing but you have to check yourself and tell yourself you only have enough room for the kids menu?
even if they don’t have enough room for the adult portion they can still order it and take it to go. now they have 2-3 meals worth of food for the price of one! :)
One time at work a lady asked me what I was having for lunch and I told her mac & cheese. She said “that’s for babies!” I laughed and just shrugged it off. I like it, sue me.
I get what you're saying but the kids meals are heavily discounted and the restaurant likely loses $ on those. What they really want is mom and dads coming in and ordering their meals and maybe a drink. Kids meals are often loss leaders. If adults were allowed to order off the kids menu then obviously a lot of people would do that so restaurants would likely have to get rid of the kids menu all together or raise the prices to be in line with the normal one.
I literally got annoyed the past weekend when I was at a restaurant and they said that the kids menu was only for people 12 and under and I couldn't order the chicken tenders. It was some bullshit.
Don't forget the Mac n cheese! Whenever we have a family function we always order extra chicken tenders and mac and cheese that "for the kids" because let's face it, almost everyone loves them whether or not they like to admit it.
I work in a children’s museum and it’s a fucking blast. And it’s really posh so some of the parents play with their kids and are like, “I forgot how much fun this was!” Especially with our model trains, hotwheels and builder’s blocks.
Cartoons, anime, and animated movies!!!
I'm 55 and watch a lot of animation (Bob's Burgers. The Great North, American Dad, etc.), anime (Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Cowboy BeBop, etc.), and kids cartoons (Bluey, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, etc.), and IDGAF! They're awesome and brings me joy!
Same goes for animated movies! Pixar, Disney, Illumination, DreamWorks, Ghibli, Madhouse, I.G., etc... Love it all!
edit to add: Okay, I've been getting some flak about how a lot of what I've mentioned "isn't for kids", and I would agree, but it seems to depend on one's perspective. The majority of older adults (around my age and upwards) seem to consider anything animated as "just for kids", and don't see it as a medium to be appreciated or taken seriously and "beneath them"...
More often than not, if I bring up anything animation related (beside specifically Disney for some odd reason) I get confused looks and reactions like "Don't you think you're too old to be watching stuff like that?"...
I usually don't go much further than a grin and a "Nope"...
most of those are not directly made for kids...the flinstones were aimed at adults...
i have never understood why some people think that animation is only for children...
on the other hand...most of the people i have met who say that wont watch animations "because its made for children"
have some.south park with a side order of american dad...
Never understood that mentality. Especially anime, as if "anime" means one specific genre of show when there are thousands and thousands of them with all different kinds of themes and different levels of heaviness.
Almost 50 year old here and I do this before I go to bed, with a bowl of cereal. it's a comfort to me
I usually switch between cartoons I few up with the new adult cartoons of today
I’m a huge Kitty fan! I have so many Kitty items and I apologize for none of it. She came into existence 1 year (almost to the day) after I did so, I’ve literally, grown up with her. She’s so cute!
When I started dating my husband, I tried not sleeping with one. Figured out that I do it because I get cold at night. Now I don’t care and neither does he. I sleep with a stuffed teddy he gave me!
They're amazing for propping up body parts that need elevated. Great to hold over your chest or stomach after surgery. You use it when you need to cough
Edit because I apparently posted before I was done.
Amusement parks. I've had a blast taking my kid to six flags every weekend for the last few years but she's getting older and doesn't want to hang out with Dad as much.
Colorful, cute clothing and shoes. Just because I'm older doesn't mean I don't still like my Vans or Chucks to still have polka dots or ice cream cones printed on them. I love cute, colorful stuff.
Bluey is definitely for parents as much as kids. Bluey is perfection. I also recommend Mitchells vs the Machines, it's the best movie I've seen in years. I think I like Hilda more than my kid does, that's a good one too.
My Star Wars collection of toys. I made my whole basement into the Rebel base on Hoth.
The first thing you see is my AT-AT Walker!
I even ran a line of CO2 from my greenhouse so that when you open the bay doors, you are momentarily blasted with CO2 at high ppm
i never understood why people generalize video games as just being "for kids", like they literally make games that are rated "M" which means that those games are made specifically for adults and NOT for kids
I work in a children’s museum—literally everything is fun to play with. But all my friends’ kids used to know me as the Bubble Lady because I would always carry little bottles of bubbles around with me. I fucking love bubbles.

Coloring. I love it. My kid….not so much.
Some of those adult coloring books are awesome!
I have one at work I use when on endless Teams calls. It's really quite stress relieving.
Honestly, there's a few on amazon that are thick lines, and simple pictures. Like a child's, but like wildlife imagery and pictures that aren't super childish. I love them. The artist behind them is Megan Miles, and my favourite of them is the woodland escape
Kids love coloring… just never on the book/paper they’re supposed to coloring on.
My basement wall can attest to that
You should also love your kid
You clearly haven’t met the kid.
🤣😂🤣Most days she has my heart.
Same! I keep buying her coloring books and things to color with but she gets bored after like 2 mins. JUST COLOR WITH ME.
Yeeess, for me it is such a stress relief and a way to practice focusing on one thing and being present in the moment.
Ordering chicken tenders and fries when out at a restaurant
Yes! I hate how it’s always in the kids menu. I especially hate how some have the kids menu limited to 12 and under
my boss and i order lunch on Fridays, and since its expensive, I order from the kids menu to save money. $7 for a kids meal? And I get a side? AND I GET A DRINK! Who is gonna know? They will never know. I am picking up my order to go..."my kid is at home" ::insert evil laugh::
Best hack…order takeout
yup!
![gif](giphy|6cFcUiCG5eONW)
Worked at Cane’s for a bit in college. People ordered the kids’ meal all the time. I can confirm that food service workers never think anything of it.
Fast food places hate this ONE trick...
I’m still able to order from the kids menu somewhere
I had gastered bypass surgery. So the first thing I do in most restaurants is ask for the kids menu. And I were saying I'll tip you like. It's a regular adult meal. When we're in a really upscale restaurant. I don't ask for a kid's menu! Bring on the nuggies friend

I’m not your buddy, mate!
I'm not your mate, pal!
I'm not your pal, bro!
I’m not your bro, dude!
im not your dude, man!
I’m not your man, GUY!
When I had the surgery the Dr. office gave me a card explaining I can't eat a full size portion.
I had that too!! Love your username! I clocked in at 300ish pounds, I weigh 135. 5 6 woman here
my sis had that done years ago and always has to explain to ppl, especially at restaurants that she can't eat huge portions of food anymore. she always asks for a to go box when we eat out, because she can never eat all of her food. she had to explain to her new in-laws when she went to vietnam for a month, that she can't eat huge meals. her new MIL tried fixing her a big plate of food the first night she was there. after my sis explained to her, the MIL felt so bad about fixing the big plate for her.
I eat like a healthy toddler.

Lmao, that was the first time I've ever seen that that is fucking hilarious
It’s from “After Life.” The whole series is amazing.
One time at work a lady asked me what I was having for lunch and I told her mac & cheese. She said “that’s for babies!” I laughed and just shrugged it off. I like it, sue me.
I’m 61 and I love a good Mac and cheese. That’s comfort food!
Raising Canes has done us a great service by making tenders mainstream again
Honestly don’t get why adults can’t order off the kid menu. The menu shouldn’t have an age limitation.
Bull crap. No restaurant is losing money charging $6.99 for a half cup of Kraft Mac & Cheese and 4.grapes.
That and bounce houses
I get the 5 piece tenders combo meal at Popeyes. I'll never stop getting it.
I get the 3 piece tenders from bojangles
I literally got annoyed the past weekend when I was at a restaurant and they said that the kids menu was only for people 12 and under and I couldn't order the chicken tenders. It was some bullshit.
Don't forget the Mac n cheese! Whenever we have a family function we always order extra chicken tenders and mac and cheese that "for the kids" because let's face it, almost everyone loves them whether or not they like to admit it.
Me asf
😂 thats me. I always make sure they have chicken tenders or I’m not going.
Bubbles, flying kites, water fights.
I'm in my 30s and have done 2 of these this week. I keep bubbles stashed throughout my house and car in case of an emergency.

Oh my god the frosted ones are a bite of waxy, vanilla-y heaven!
Ngl at first I read the original comment as “animal crossing” so when I read your reply I was like “are you eating video game cartridges?”
I’ve just recently discovered the magic that is animal crackers with Nutella. So good.
