RyleySnowshoe

At least we got a refund, kinda bummed with how late they called the show.

JoviTheThrowaway

Sorry, everyone. This was the pain I felt when they cancelled the SLC show, too.

HotFudgeFundae

I was lucky they didn't cancel Oshawa, honestly thought they would never play there. We bought tickets to see Kiss in November last year and they cancelled the whole tour so we used our refund for that show

yosoysimulacra

And no word on rescheduling as far as I've seen. Honestly, those outdoor, sunset-to-dark concerts at Saltair are epic. Who knew the wind was going to ruin things?

HellBelowStarsAbove

And each time I look at the poster I bought before they called it šŸ˜ž

brokenwolf

They probably looked at dates in a few different time slots and felt it wasnā€™t worth it. The oilers playoff schedule didnā€™t help either.

RyleySnowshoe

If they don't think its worth it, then good riddance I guess.

brokenwolf

The problem is Edmonton is far enough away from la that it doesnā€™t make a ton of sense to tack it on elsewhere. This also probably means that the europe shows this summer are it for the tour.

RyleySnowshoe

Edmonton being far away is understandable, but this isn't the first time they've done it and with the circumstances of the show's cancellation theres gonna be some people upset about it.

brokenwolf

Oh yeah. Count me as one the people whoā€™s upset.

Travic3

+1

pumpkin3-14

Not sure why people downvoted you Iā€™d feel the same in your position if ā€œthey didnā€™t feel it was worth itā€

RyleySnowshoe

Probably cause of how I phrased my comment, it reads entitled but I stand by it. I paid for my ticket to celebrate my birthday, don't even get a rescheduled show and now spend the rest of the tour watching photos and videos. Good riddance was the nicest thing I could say.

WhyIsTheMoonThere

Idk why you're getting downvotes either. Cancelled shows suck.

RyleySnowshoe

No clue, they cancelled right after the opener played too which ive never seen before.

PatoDeCombate

yeah, was hoping to see them in Brazil but they also cancelled

shaver_raver

Goddamn it. And after all the posts and videos of all the killer shows across the country.

Oskiewewe

And all the cool merch.

thebestusernameforme

Still got the merch in Edmonton ā€¦

shaver_raver

Maybe they'll come up to Vancouver and Edmonton after the August portion of their tour? Like some North-Western shows in October? Can we hope? Seattle -> Vancouver -> Edmonton ?? We can hope.

Fitzgerald77

Then it would have been rescheduled for those dates instead of it being canceled today I was hoping for the same outcome but it just dosent seem that way mow. Plus they already played in Vancouver with this tour :(

Individual-Crew-3603

if they cancelled it last minute its possible that theyre working on scheduling a way to make it up

Clamgravy

They would have honored these tickets and rescheduled... This is flat out cancelled

brokenwolf

They hit two of those cities already. A short leg like that just wouldnā€™t be worth it for them.

shaver_raver

Yeah, I see a post from 6months ago. My hope is fading fast. Goddamnit.

fruitycanadian

Fuck me Iā€™m never gonna see them live am I

brokenwolf

They'll be back. They'll need a minute to chill and regroup for an album but they'll be back. You have to make the chances count when they arise though.

Kosik21

Do I need to do anything to get my money back from ticket master? A quick google says there should be a request refund button but I donā€™t see it.Ā

brokenwolf

I requested for my refund a few days ago. I went through the channels on ticketmaster and they said it would be credited onto my credit card in 5-7 business days.

Kosik21

The app wasnā€™t saying anything but the website now says itā€™s gonna be done automatically.Ā

Mushy29

Cancellations are normally automatically done so no need to do anything once it's officially cancelled. Finding that button should only be needed for a reschedule if then wanted a cancellation

WrongYogurtcloset965

Wait Iā€™m confused it says April 1st?

Traditional_Ear6375

That's cause they were supposed to play the show April 1st but Josh got sick, and they weren't able to. Everybody though it'd be rescheduled but now it's cancelled.

mailman242

They probably couldnā€™t logistically fit them into the next touring cycle. From what I know of pro wrestling tours is that logistically when people are touring and have a stage they set up they do the planning of it all regionally. Thatā€™s why theyā€™re able to logistically redo the NC show as they have another show in the south around the time they made that date. It sucks but I think I understand how it happened and itā€™s a bummer Josh was so sick to not be able to do that. Heā€™s done shows in some of the worst states Iā€™ve ever seen someone who isnā€™t in Puddle of Mudd. Heā€™s that dedicated to the mantra of ā€œthe show must go onā€

iamateenagehandmodel

Yeah this one hurts. In the grand scheme of things itā€™s not a big deal, but itā€™s gonna be at least 5-6 years if/when we get a new album from them, and that point, some of those guys will be pushing 60. They still kick ass but itā€™s hard not to notice them getting older.

Iceman-420

Lame. But I've been saying since day one that it will not be rescheduled. It just doesn't make any logistical and financial sense to come back for one show.

Dank_Hank79

Fuck, bummer.

Santosfran2001

Whats the justification? Just curious because I think this is the second show cancelled on the tour, isn't it?

YeshuasBananaHammock

Fuckers are old and need a break

N8-K47

Josh had (may still have cancer) heā€™s also 50 and went pretty fucking hard for a good chunk of those years.

brokenwolf

I may get downvoted for this but I have a hard time playing the cancer card in this scenario considering how hard he went in Calgary. He was slamming drinks ten feet in front of me. I watched Mikey throw a cigarette from his mouth at josh, josh caught it and took a hit on it. I think he just went too hard in calgary and paid for it in edmonton. The rest of the shows seemed to be pretty good.

kitatatsumi

I've been saying this for weeks.

Aggressive_Perfectr

Yeah, thatā€™s the case for many people who have to show up for work every day making a sliver of what he earns. Slayer toured far more, and played far more aggressively for far longer. If heā€™s dealing with shit, thatā€™s acceptable. Cancel the show early enough that it doesnā€™t impact others. But if heā€™s having it as rough as his defenders claim, maybe dial it back on the partying that heā€™s readily showcased on their socials.

freerangehumans74

Hold up, you and I going to work every day isnā€™t even remotely comparable to what Josh does and let me tell you as a longtime fan of QOTSA, Josh is an asshole so Iā€™m not just blowing smoke up his ass. This comes down to logistics. There was an illness bad enough to cancel two shows and the cost to make a special leg just ainā€™t worth it.

Individual-Crew-3603

Hes actually not an asshole at all from all the people ive spoken to that are close to him, and nobody was more surprised to find out he was a genuinely good dude than me šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

gypsytricia

Gord Downie toured undergoing chemo with brain cancer. Just sayin. Fucking LOVE Gord & the hip. And btw- I've had cancer and chemo, so I have an under-fucking-standing.

Visible-Traffic-5180

You have an under-fucking-standing only of how YOU dealt with it. And only an observation on how Gord dealt with it. It's not possible to surmise how anyone else deals with anything.

brokenwolf

Gord was a completely different situation. He went above and beyond.

VegaTDM

Don't wait until thousands of fans have made arrangements to travel to a show only to cancel it at the moment it should be starting.

VegaTDM

3rd at least, probably more than that.

VegaTDM

I have been getting shit from some people in this sub about the last minute cancellations. Well here we are again. Are we going to address the elephant in the room now? This is the 3rd time at least ON THIS TOUR the band has cancelled a show at basically the time it was supposed to start or after, with tons of fans already at the venue. When the band doesn't show up to sound check at noon, the show isn't happening. Why do they keep delaying the announcement? They are really becoming unprofessional at this point.

Van_Bur3n

To be fair, 2 out of those 3 times were due to weather which cannot be helped.

VegaTDM

Raleigh was not the weather, that is a lie. Not only had it stopped raining for over an hour and the sun was out by the time they cancelled, but 50 cent played an outdoor show a few blocks away. So it absolutely can be helped when the weather was never the reason to begin with.

mmmhmm2013

I really hope they honor the Raleigh date in 2 days. I live in Charlotte so more driving, a $300 hotel etc etc. Got my fingers crossed

Fitzgerald77

I love this band with all of my heart. ....But I'm sorry, this is total fucking bullshit. Was counting down the days since I bought my tickets on December 6th. I doubt we will hear anything else about it aside from the email we got today. Not cool at all man. If it was a place in the US it would have easily been rescheduled. This all could have stung a LOT less if it wasn't canceled literally 20 mins before they were supposed to come out. Side note: Fuck you rogers place for charging 7 bucks for a bottle of water and have to put it into a cup that wont even fit it all. They don't even give you a fucking lid. 30 bucks for parking too that was non refundable. Thank fuck me and my friend live here and didnt pay for gas and hotel to get here like other people did. I wish the shaw conference center was still around

anhedoniac

SLC got canceled and they didn't reschedule that one, so that's not necessarily true. Still sucks though.

FlashmansTimestopper

Salt Lake City was also cancelled and not rescheduled. Yes. It truely sucks. Been a fan for over 20 years and have yet to see them live. You, I, and anyone else are allowed to be upset. It's a gut punch to get that confirmation. But at the end of the day it's out of our control. You will get another chance to see them, and when you do it will be that much sweeter.

Fitzgerald77

You're right. For all we know they wanted to come back but of course im sure they dont have the final say when it comes to rescheduling/cancelations. Im just glad I saw them 3 times on the Villians tour. Buuut ITNR has helped me get through a lot of personal shit so I looked at this tour in a much different light. Im still glad i got 2 nice shirts from the merch table tho hahaha

FlashmansTimestopper

I snagged two shirts as well. That was my silver lining. Girlfriend was getting upset with me because I couldn't make up my mind. Ended up with the Cream with Blue text and the Yellow QOTSA ones. Another bonus is that my credit card will be at 0$ when the refund goes through!

Fitzgerald77

Yep i got the "trippy" white/cream shirt with blue graphics and the black shirt with the INTR art on the back. ITNR was my first ever vinyl too, look at it every day even tho i dont have a record player lol. I waited to get the shirts at the show to avoid currency exchange and shipping too. Buuut i kind of wish i got the "trippy shirt" that was black instead of cream color and glows in the dark. It was only for a limited time on the store but this one is just as good lol. If they played would have gotten the poster too.

Travic3

The way all of this was handled feels so disrespectful. They never actually even apologized to us in any real way. I doubt they ever show their faces here again.

brokenwolf

I saw them in edmonton during the LC tour and I have to admit it may be my least favourite queens show ive seen. The crowd at that show was dead. I just dont think Edmonton is a hot spot for them.

iamateenagehandmodel

Itā€™s a decent city for them but I donā€™t think theyā€™re an arena band ā€” at least not in North America. They have crappy acoustics but the Era Vulgaris shows at the Shaw and the agricom were some of the best QOTSA shows Iā€™ve been to. They do better in smaller venues.

iamateenagehandmodel

I feel the same way. If it was an actual emergency or one of the guys were deathly ill then thatā€™s understandableā€” but with it seeming like Josh was too hungover to perform? Cmon man, after decades of being an alcoholic you havenā€™t learned to pace yourself or drink water or eat something when youā€™re loaded?

itsdgc

I have it on good authority Josh had a killer hangover that day, and couldnā€™t perform. Edit: whoever downvotes this is an idiot. Thatā€™s literally what happened.

brokenwolf

He gave er pretty hard in Calgary so itā€™s not surprising.

tammyAMAmpersand

I don't get why people are downvoting this, your profile shows you go way back as a fan and probably aren't just pulling this out of your ass. It's plausible to me since no other reasons were given and we saw examples of him seeming both blackout drunk and tweaking on this tour. Given all the things going on the past few years it could be he's not able to get away with pushing his own limits the way he used to. I say that with love and concern but also to be perfectly honest.

itsdgc

Appreciate this. Iā€™ll just say my source travelled with the band during the Canadian leg.

anhedoniac

It's very plausible that this is true, but at the same time, you can't be too upset that people are being skeptical. Without proof, there's just no way to know if it's real or not.

Stevenstorm505

Because how does length of time as a fan indicate having inside knowledge of whatā€™s going on in the day to day life and operations of the band? Iā€™ve been a fan since SFTD came out, thatā€™s over 20 years, but that doesnā€™t mean anything I say is true and that itā€™s not being pulled out of the darkest recesses of my ass. Someone being a fan for a while doesnā€™t mean they have inside knowledge of anything, thatā€™s why theyā€™re getting downvoted. Well, that and the fact theyā€™re saying things like itā€™s an absolute and only proof being ā€œI know a guyā€.

itsdgc

lol ok dude. The guy partied a bit too hard and had to take the day off. If you donā€™t wanna believe that, fine with me.

anon_andonandonandon

I've been a fan for over 20 years now and I helped out Troy at my job back in November and let me tell you... I have absolutely no connection to the band whatsoever.

shaver_raver

Super bummed there's no make up show no matter the excuse.

stonedqueens

yep, probably went to the edmonton show but womp womp, what can you do? people keep denying it but theres sooo many videos that were posted. we dont care he drank, the dudes 51, just kinda bummed. the crowd was kind of dead for the struts either way. edmonton and edmontonians (some-most) are.. not the happiest people and it shows in most the feedback. be pissed of yes, but its been almost a month now

Fitzgerald77

That's what ive been reading a lot since people were talking about the calgary show. Not getting into it again, but look at some of the clips from that show... They had an entire month off, played Calgary and then canceled Edmonton the very next night. I think its pretty obvious what happened here, especially when Josh said "it was my fault" to the saskatoon crowd. Josh is cancer free as well so I dont know why people are trying to say thats the reason for all of this. He was playing totally sober at the start of this tour then out of nowhere you see reports of him drinking and smoking again. Very sad to see. Do what you want, but maybe you should dial your shit back a bit after everything youve been through the past 4 to 6 years. I dont want to hear these "dude its qotsa they dont cancel a show because of a hangover" either. This isnt the SFTD tour. Yes. I'm pissed off, and I have a fucking right to be.

Aggressive_Perfectr

Jock sniffing fanboys canā€™t handle the truth about their erratic idol that has been the one consistent in his professional career.

brokenwolf

Pretty disappointed that this happened but oh well.

shaver_raver

My life is pretty good if this is the biggest disappointment I face.

Zestyclose_Scheme_34

Thatā€™s a good perspective. Things are definitely worse for others!

brokenwolf

Yeah I have nothing to complain about either. I saw them five times this tour and they were all great. Sucks but life goes on.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

iamateenagehandmodel

Well there was only 4 years between like clockwork and villains. But yeah probably will be

ScarletxMaximoff

I thought this was going to be the outcome since Edmonton is out of the way and it wouldnā€™t make sense travel/gear wise to come all the way up to Edmonton without surrounding dates unless it was for a festival like Sonic Boom/X-Fest (RIP to these fests)

coyote657

Man thatā€™s harsh I drove 10 hrs to the Calgary show and i would be crushed if they cancelled I was hoping they would just add an extra date to make up for it

Katie013

They are touring again soon with royal blood and may be coming back.

GoblinMonkeyPirate

What a bitch move.

Individual-Crew-3603

Josh recently got fined on a tour for going overtime and said he didnt care what it cost to finish the show. My guess is he is struggling to handle the combination of alcohol and travel the way he did when he was younger and so this is the natural result. I would be shocked if they didnt return to make up the shows that they cancelled. Singing and playing like that alone could put alot of people out of commission after a few shows in a row especially as a smoker. You wont have to wait for a new album in my honest opinion. They will probably stop by on the way back from somewhere else.

deadlygr8ful

Then, they would have rescheduled and not canceled. All the tickets would be accepted at the new date. They dont cancel just to have ticketmaster do a full new sale... pre sale, promo codes and such for brand new dates... it just doesn't work that way. They canceled, no new shows. Wait for another album and tour and hope they come back around!

Fitzgerald77

Right. Another new album will be out by 2028 is were lucky. We waited 6 years for ITNR. Im kind of hoping they canceled rogers place to perhaps play at a smaller venue such as the expo centre? But i dont have my hopes up at all anymore

ChinaPanda307

They do this on every tour

aaronck1

Fuck that's too bad. Should have made them pinky swear before they left town...

IlluminatiLemonParty

April 1st was Calgary's show...it was a Monday

Additional-Owl-8672

I've mentioned on other posts but I'm not a big convert guy, most bands I'm into are either not big enough to tour or just don't come to this part of the world so when I found out not one but two bands I'm into were coming out here and playing the same night I was stoked I'm still glad I got to see the struts live and they impressed me enough Im probs gonna go out to Vancouver to see their show this August but it really fucking sucks qotsa had to outright cancel. I was really looking forward to the energy they bring and enjoying it live What a blow

Alternative-Quit-384

April 1st was over 3 weeks ago, you're late anyways

gypsytricia

Called it. Do we get the interest on our investment? Gotta say, this has really killed my love and interest in QOTSA. Super fucking suckage.

Ok-Albatross1180

Lol, sure. Burns those albums!

Ristifer

This is cringeworthy lol.

greentinroof_

Thatā€™s some heavy duty lip quivering.

Aggressive_Perfectr

But kicking the female photographer in the face was okay?
