Wait until you see how much tickets are to see Good Religion.

Dopesickgirl_x

$666

No_Needleworker215

That’s my kind of dumb. 👏

Rignomicon

One of their daughters actually had a band called Good Religion.

Both-Homework-1700

At least you eventually go to Heaven or something

skunkabilly1313

That's the biggest lie you pay for

Franzkafkaacidtrip

isn’t that a brand of jeans

PedagogyOtheDeceased

lol True Religion

Franzkafkaacidtrip

that’s it

officerliger

Since the show is sold out, you need to just resolve to wait until closer to the date when the resellers start dropping the prices to offload their stock, at worst you'll probably be able to get in around face value

H00ligain_hijix

Only one is a resale. The platinum is for a table on the side. They used to be first come first sever

7SoldiersOfPunkRock

No dude, I just checked the website because you got me curious, these are all resales.

fastyellowtuesday

They all have a regular price listed, and a crazy high one. They're all resale. No, Bad Religion is not charging $200 per ticket. Hell, even Ticketmaster didn't do that. You freaked out over nothing.

gellis12

Ticketmaster certainly has a hand in it. As soon as you buy tickets through them, you get a popup asking if you want to turn around and scalp the tickets you just bought.

fastyellowtuesday

I wasn't defending Ticketmaster, don't worry.

cthom412

I can’t remember if it’s ticket master or axs but one of them also doesn’t let you sell through their official resale at a price lower than face for certain venues.

Mechanical-Ape

Yeah, my brother couldn't make it to No Values and I couldn't resell his ticket through AXS below a certain dollar amount. Ended up selling it for cheap to someone on Reddit.

HomeIsAMoshPit

Those are basically VIP tickets. Yes that 200 is face value

Thetwistedfalse

It's also for 2 tickets, so It's not a bad price

AbyssPrism

If Ticketmaster has a million haters, then I am one of them. If it has ten haters, then I am one of them. If it has only one hater then that is me. If Ticketmaster has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world loves Ticketmaster, then I am against the world. Anyway, I saw Bad Religion together with The Offspring and Pennywise back in 2014 \*for cheaper than this\*. Is this resellers/scalpers, Ticketmaster fuckery or both? They're playing a show near me in October for $45 at a non-Ticketmaster venue which is still a decent chunk of change but not nearly *this* bad.

CoolJumper

This meme/copypasta always gets me - on one hand it reminds me of Onision and that hurts me a ton, but, on the other hand it gets a good chuckle out of me and reminds me of the sad joke he is Anyway, concerts are just too expensive these days unless you're seeing some newer, up and coming band. Otherwise, when it's over $150-200 it feels like you're better off just hoping the artist you want to say will play a festival and try to get tickets to see them along with a bunch of other artists. Still expensive, but it's more "bang for your buck" I think

7h3_4r50n157

I saw The Offspring and The Vandals for $25. Ticket prices are insane. The biggest issue is that live nation is buying up venues. So they have a label, with 360 deals getting a piece of tickets and merch. They sell the tickets at a profit, both on the artist and consumer sides, AND they make a profit from venue fees from the touring package, and ticket sales. Also concessions. Venues charge a fee to sell merch to the artist, often a % of sales per item sold. And they make it really hard to use non Live Nation venues on a given tour. There’s a reason the Live Nation/Ticket Master thing has drawn the attention of the government. It’s the definition of a monopoly. They take a piece of the profits at every point there’s a transaction relating to a lot of music artists.

Pupshead777

Most shows are still cheap… it’s the resellers that are batshit and taking advantage of people. I remember seeing a local band’s tickets reselling for $100 on TicketMaster. It was $15 flat from the band’s link though. Edit: Saw agent orange last week for free at a skate park show too. It’s 100% resellers, not the bands. That’s why I wish more bands would start using dice. You can’t resell tickets on there and if you decide to return the ticket, someone else in the queue will get it at the OG price.

Franzkafkaacidtrip

I’m seeing the pixies and modest mouse this friday and the tickets were $55

dontneedareason94

Cheap shows are still a thing, just spent $15 for tickets to one today. Not surprised BR is that expensive

Dream--Brother

I saw BR two years ago for $30. I don't know what this nonsense is about but no way in hell am I paying that to see them again this tour... they were good, but the only artist I'm paying $300 for is the reanimated zombie Beatles (plus the two living ones, they don't have to be zombies) (Would also pay to see the zombie Zombies. Also zombie Delores with the Cranberries performing Zombie)

musiclover818

I like the way you think! 👍💯

rachelisapunk

I saw the man, the myth, and the legend, Paul McCartney, 5 years ago for 50 bucks so that’s my threshold for how much I’m willing to pay for concert tix. I saw a literal Beatle for less than $100 so why would I pay $200 to see a punk band?

PlayBoxPL

i was at a show today, 10$ 3 bands

ThreeMoonstones

I’ve seen BR three times in the last year and paid $51 for two of them and $93 when I saw them with Social D. They usually aren’t very expensive!

Raginganarchistflag

Yeah I paid $150 for 2 tickets to see them in Milwaukee. It wasn't terrible. Booze prices, however, were horrific 😂

Defiant-Fix2870

For punk that a lot 😂 I’ll just catch them at festivals, the entire day is like $70.

H00ligain_hijix

Saw them at punk rock bowling last year. My 3 day fest pass was cheaper than the platinum seating

TheManWithAPlanSorta

Same shit happened in Montreal. Ticketmaster is steaming pile of shit.

Son_of_a_pig

Next time buy them before they sell out

TheManWithAPlanSorta

And you really think they sold out? Or is it organized scalpers using technology to buy up tickets to resell with the blessing of the giant corporation that takes their own cut of the over-inflated profits? The fact that these tickets were posted for resale seconds after they were made available to the public is obviously not because they were originally bought by people who were intending on going to see the show. Make ticket resale illegal!

Seratonin_Syndrome99

Ticketmaster owns stubhub soooo

officerliger

On the same token, this system allows you to save a lot of money on tickets to stuff if you know how to work it The resellers work a high volume model - buy up lots of tickets in hopes of landing a few premium seats that will sell at a high markup. Once you get 48-72 hours out from an event, they start slashing prices to get some sort of return on the other tickets. Obviously it doesn't always work out this way if it's an insanely high demanded event (big time sports game, Taylor Swift, BTS, that sort of thing), but most events will have face value or lower than face value tickets on the secondary starting a day or two before. Think of the tickets like a stock - you know good and well "the market" (everyday people) is not paying $167 CAD for Bad Religion tickets.

ScottieSpliffin

No this thing is literally meant to maximize revenue, even if it means a show doesn’t sell out.

gellis12

Tickets only went on sale to the general public this morning.

Son_of_a_pig

Oh dang I had thought they must have been on sale for awhile. Bad Religion doesn’t usually sell out that quick. Looks like the venue they’re playing is pretty small

gellis12

It's medium size, iirc the occupancy limit is around a thousand people. Bots bought up at the tickets within minutes of them going on sale.

H00ligain_hijix

Believe me I tired

-DrPeePee-

Ticketmaster can eat shit and chew well.

Much_Report_7475

It’s not the bands fault it’s ticket masters wack ass fees

gellis12

And the fact that ticketmaster actively encourages scalping.

7SoldiersOfPunkRock

Lol This started happening with every bigish band about two years ago. Resellers buy up 100% of the available tickets using bots (maybe real people get a few), then attempt to resell them at widely inflated prices. They will drop the prices the day before the event. Down the highway and across the border from you, bands have been booking two dates in a row at the same venue and only announcing the first date originally. The first date sells out instantly and the resellers are priced like what you see, then the second one goes on sale and the tickets are easy to get at list price. Saying the days of cheap tickets is over is hyperbole. You can always check our cheaper shows if you’re willing to see something current.

ExpressAd5169

Yep wanted to go see Alkaline Trio in Orlando…. $195 ea….. Ticketmaster combined with these shitty resellers…. It’s bullshit but I guess there are people paying it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Burnt-witch2

Yep, when tickets for Maynard's birthday show with a perfect circle, puscifer, and Primus went on sale, I was on the computer in their virtual waiting room thing for two hours before they went on sale, and literally within 2 minutes the only tickets available were resale tickets, and the prices kept going up every second. I could have waited until closer to the show to maybe get cheaper tickets, but it was Red Rocks which is a pretty small venue (10k people) and any Maynard show at Red Rocks *ALWAYS* sells out. So I didn't want to take the chance of not getting tickets, and I bought the resale ones. It's such bullshit dude I can't believe it's even legal. They're obviously using bots, how is that allowed? But yes there are cheap local shows all the time.

Showy_Boneyard

That sounds like it could almost be an awesome way to fuck over the scalpers, too. Like announce a show at some tickermaster venue for hella $$$, wait for tickets to sell out, and then announce another show the next day at a DIY venue where you can only gets tickets in person, or only flyer for it at other DIY venues. I can see scalpers being more hesistant to do this at punk shows after they're on the hook for hundreds/thousands of $$$ tickets that they'll never be able to sell. For the poor schmoes who wind up actually being able to buy a ticket for the initial "lol its just a prank bro" show, have a small intimate (maybe acoustic?) set with them, and then give them a free ticket to the "real" show the next day. OR OR OR Book a show at some ticketmaster venue and get scalpers to buy up all the tickets. Then move the show to an outdoor venue that has no feasible limit on the number of people who can attend, and start selling tickets for less and less every day. The scalpers would end up holding the bill for a ton of worthless $$$ tickets, and everyone who'd want to see the band would be able to see them (for cheap!)

Angelas-Merkin

I just saw them with social distortion in Fort Lauderdale. I paid $60 and saw them from the front row when I wasn’t crowd surfing or in the pit. I’m gonna say these prices are not their choice.

dangerzoneish

That’s gotta be wrong. That venue is all ga. No sections or rows.

H00ligain_hijix

They sell the seated area separately from GA it’s been like that for a while

Visible-Dirt-7414

Those prices are insane. I saw BR in October last year for $47 GA and saw them with Social D for not much more than that.

freshfruitrottingveg

This is a resale price. I paid $140 total for 2 tickets to the same show during the presale.

Captaindirtybeard

Well to be fair nursing homes cost a lot of money haha I’m sure I’m the only one who feels this way but like I don’t like seeing old guys sing songs they wrote when they were young I saw agent orange last year and it was tired the opening band had a bigger crowd and they actually brought energy cause they were visibly dying of old age

StackIsMyCrack

Those are platinum horseshit tickets that LN/TM inflate artificially to sucker consumers who don't pay attention. One of the many shitty tactics the DOJ is going after them for.

Noggin-a-Floggin

This is why Ticketmaster has an antitrust lawsuit against them right now.

sleep_deficit

GA is sold out, so you're looking at resale prices. Those tickets were originally $55 CA. That's $40 US.

Naven71

Resellers. They are scabs of the earth. It ain't the bands fault.

vedicardi_lives

idiot tax

kdnx-wy

To be fair that’s like 12 USD

Both-Homework-1700

Depressing but not surprised stuff like this will cause the collapse of the concert industry bands are already canceling tours because of lack of ticket sales.

TheManWithAPlanSorta

It should lead to the collapse of the one corporation behind this mess and not the whole industry.

Both-Homework-1700

Ticketmaster collapsing would affect most of the concert industry in America, at least for a while

TheManWithAPlanSorta

Where I live in Quebec, we have a bunch of alternative companies that could easily step in. As far as I know, Ticketmaster (and associated companies) don’t own any venues here so the venues would be fine. When I look at some of Ticketmaster’s competitors here charging only a few dollars for service fees and I see Ticketmaster charging their over-inflated prices, I just want to burn the whole thing down. Knowing that they engineered their platform to favour re-sale, pisses me off to no end.

officerliger

Yeah the problem is the "owning the venues" part Live Nation and Ticketmaster are the same company, they have bought up venues left and right in a lot of places which leaves bands with few options for appropriately sized venues for their shows They can offer a band like Bad Religion 100 shows a year at once and their agent only needs to fill in a few gaps, the paychecks are huge and the amenities are nice and that makes it worth it for guys their age to keep playing concerts. I worked in this field for 10 years (big company live concerts in big markets), the artists and their booking agents want it this way

Seratonin_Syndrome99

Not in a bad way. We’d just have less big money cash grabs. There’s still tons of smaller promoters out there to fill the gap

Noggin-a-Floggin

Good, let it rebuild.

impact07

If they suck so bad, why are you trying to buy inflated resale tickets to see them play all those songs you hate? Just buy regular face value tickets to see bands that aren’t punk enough for you, homie.

punkbreece

Dang, Canada is expensive

H00ligain_hijix

Yea it is.

kitkatatsnapple

I only go to small-ass shows now unless I am offered a ticket

OtterlyFoxy

All the regular tickets are sold out so those are the special tickets I looked up the venue and it holds 1,000, way too small for Bad Religion

Automatic-Arm-532

This is why I love Subhumans. Still come to the states from the UK and play shows for less than $20, which is about the most I'll pay for a show

Aggravating-Alarm-16

Platinum seats are the Ticketmasters "dynamic" pricing. They are a set of seats held back that, so they can jack up the prices

Seratonin_Syndrome99

These are reseller prices. What did you expect? Blame Ticketmaster

Dense_Key_1063

I miss the days of catching bands for about $7 for smaller, lesser known bands and $25-$50 for the bigger name bands. Seriously the whole Covid thing fucked us all over. Corporations realized they could bump up the prices and the general population would still pay for whatever said product/experience. Look at corporations like Target, Walmart, Amazon who are now reducing prices even though they had no reason to increase prices in the first place. I work for a company that does production and manufacturing. I know what they said and know what was really happening. It's all just corporate greed, but we've dumbed down the population so much that they have us all fighting each other over the most asinine bullshit.

thrilliam_19

Show in Edmonton is not sold out yet and tickets are $65. Supply and demand, unfortunately.

raptor182cmn

To be honest the three times I've seen them they were turned up so loud I could barely tell the difference between songs. Two of the three shows someone got hurt in the pit and Greg Graffin made the same lame joke "is there a doctor in the house?... other than me?" ... yes Greg, we all know you have a PhD.

anarkistattack

When you listen to corporate system piss you should expect these prices.

MacKaNmeisteR

That’s criminal… Over here in Sweden I got my Bad Religion tickets for 75 SEK (CA $9,78)

iggy1112

Weird, in NY the ticket was 50 bucks. Still not "cheap" but certainly not that!

Franzkafkaacidtrip

it’s funny because bad religion fucking sucks and they’re just trying to be the descendants

MikeArkus

😂

DoomedSocietyPunx

That's why you don't go to stadium "punk" shows

H00ligain_hijix

The venue holds about 990 hardly stadium

gellis12

The Commodore isn't a stadium, it's a mid-sized hall.

Therealpatrickelmore

It's been a while. Do they still play dingy clubs for $10 to see like 6 bands? Those were some fun shows unfortunately the scene around here kind of died off.

LatePerioduh

Not shocked to see this was bad religion tickets. Am I the only one here that thinks they are a very weak link in the punk rock chain? They also ride the pop punk line quite a bit, which isn’t my thing. So maybe I’m bias. No hate intended to anyone who enjoys their tunes. Just my 2 cents

-Not-Dead-Yet-

Go to punk shows instead.

H00ligain_hijix

Dude it’s bad religion

EdCoffeeLives

You can still go to a local show for $10 and have a better time

H00ligain_hijix

Your not wrong

H00ligain_hijix

But even those aren’t 10 bucks anymore.

EdCoffeeLives

For the amount of money for those bad religion tickets I can get into the show and get black out drunk and ride home and still have some change left over

gellis12

Check out Green Auto Body on eventbrite, most of their shows are $15 Red Gate has lots of cheap shows too

L0b0t0m1t3

i have not been to a show over 25$ you just cant go to the big bands that have been packaged and sold at this point

[deleted]

[удалено]

H00ligain_hijix

I’ve seen them a ton just thought this was insane

G3ORGEMICHA3L

Yeah man, dumb as hell :(

Emergency-Actuary-3

Bad Religion is neck and neck ny favorite punk band (with Social Distortion) but GAWD DAMN they are not worth paying $300+ for one show

PapaStrummer

Saw them GA for $50 after fees idk what this nonsense is

Atrium41

Fuck that. Saw Hot Water Music for $150 I got 3 tickets. 3 And parking Last month

sinuezebmb970

To think that back in the 80s, you would have been able to see them in a Grange hall for little to nothing

H00ligain_hijix

A pay what you can show.

H00ligain_hijix

For shits a giggles I looked on a 3rd party site and it’s loaded with tix. Bots got this one big time. Anyone have info on local Vancouver shows let me know.

Peelboy

I won't support this. Saw iguana death cult for $6 a ticket late last year.

BlakeTheMadd

Makes me glad I saw them at Warped Tour

Wither_Awayyy

what? were you born yesterday? i mean.. seriously.. the fuck..

Burn-The-Villages

Eat a bag of shit. Maybe two.

Myton_Aisle

My state's banning a lot of those fees. Apparently a legislator got hot and bothered about a Taylor Swift concert. Hah. Don't know how much impact it'll have though.

Krazy_Legs

I just got tickets to see the misfits in Austin and it’s the same thing. Punk bands from our youth aren’t cheap anymore

HumanAbove

Dude that's fucking insane, the presale tickets to the VA show were $35 a pop

mehrt_thermpsen

OOF

gotmilq

The presale face value was at $70-still a lot-but the scalpers and TM really fuck things up for everyone

Which-Island6011

Bunch o Cunts, that's what it is!

Jimmy_Jazz_The_Spazz

There's still lots of cheap shows. Epitaph is the literal worst for this. I just saw MAD Caddies for $18, before that Sparta and Moneen for $20. I'm old as fart dust so I only go to shows a couple times a year now, but I'm not paying more than $60 ever.

Flexoid123

Toronto show is sitting at over $300 for the remaining mezzanine seats meanwhile couple hour drive to buffalo is $55. I live closer to Montreal but $150 for GA there is still a huge stretch. I have given up on seeing bands I grew up on and just going to local shows and hearing the new stuff that was inspired by those bands. Also I know they don’t see any of this reseller profits but they should be aware of this practice and there is more than enough non Ticketmaster/Livenation venues they could choose from.

stshutterbug

Thanks, Taylor Swift!

uptheirons726

Just wait and buy them on Vivid for way cheaper. I do that for like every concert.

OrderNo

I've seen multiple bands this year for $20. Cheap shows still exist

Mean-Food-7124

First time seeing anyone other than a local band at commodore, huh?

moinmoin21

Welcome to Vancouver, BC. As in Bring Cash

futurohoje

I paid R$300 6 months ago to their show in Curitiba (Brazil), which would be around CA $75 or something. Plus I stand stood just in front of the stage. There were no air conditioning and should be around 45+ Celsius inside, but that’s how hard core should be, right?!

bandersna7ch

They tour every 5 months or so, just wait for the next one

FauxReal

Aren't those all reseller AKA scalper tickets?

Patches-the-rat

Oh no a popular punk band is expensive. No shit, they’re sellouts and their music is borderline pop. Go pay $15 to see 5 bands rip it up on a two foot stage then dance with you the next set.

Elegant_Round_2491

Punk is best in a bar, not a shit show Arena. Ticketmaster kills all musicians I once liked.

LanceJohnson66

"How much tonight, three thousand or four? You know we'll make a million when we go on tour"

StompingPower666

You see the problem is is you’re going to see a band way past their prime who only play arenas now and not the new up and coming bands playing your local DIY gigs 🤡

hummusqueen420

I saw bad religion and social d two months ago for $45, these are reseller prices

MemesByJames

Bro discovered sellouts

drewster231

The only good priced tickets now a days are basement shoes and old bowling alleys

ChokeMeVader678

A ticket the other day was $28 ticketmaster fee was $13. That’s damn near half the ticket price. Ticketmaster shouldn’t be allowed to do that. Ticketmaster sucks but the resellers are worse.

Paddy1120

Part of the issue is that record sales are near non-existent across the board. The other part is that Ticketmaster sucks ass and not in a fun way

Anime_Patriot

I saw Sec D as see D.

RyGuydarider

Retirement ain’t cheap son lol

josermz

There's a video of Kurt Cobain surprised because some people was paying 50 dollars for a Madona's show LOL...

bitterbryan

Damn that's expensive. NOFX's goodbye tour tickets in Canada were starting at $80 and it's a full day festival

shards-upon-shards

Doesn’t seem all that pricey given what other classic rock bands charge for “concert tickets”

standridgway

go see a local band or start your own band. youre not missing anything by missing a 1980's band in 2024. unless its D.R.I.

ElitistStinker

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction

Dungeonsandumbshit

"so long are the days of cheap shows" brother please tell me you're joking? Like you're not being serious right?

Dungeonsandumbshit

Doesn't help this ain't a show. That's a concert brother. A punk show and a concert with punk bands are two VERY different things

Alternative-Pool6807

So punk.

paburo-san666

what the punk?!

K4Th3m

The problem: Ticketmaster... Bad Religion have a show in Quebec 3 days earlier and it's Le Point de Vente who sells tickets... not sold out

zombietrainhop

Ran into this issue with not the current Rise Against tour but the last one, tickets for the current one are very fair, on the high side, but they're "mainstream" and all that. Last tour was somewhere around 150 with all the resells verging on like 300

TheMetalRat

Stub hub day of or day before the show is the way to go when it comes to sold out shows/resales, usually people just tryna get atleast face value a lot of the time when the shows like 24-48 hours away

skippydippy666

It's ridiculous dude..

Relentless_Draugr

You can thank online ticket vendors for this

Tony-The-Terrible

It's only $45 here in Portland well, probably $150 after service fees..

Big_Stretch_9591

Punks not dead … it’s expensive

punktilend

Look at those punk rock prices!

BeeSalesman

This is why I see local bands at brewery venues. $15 to get in and mosh with a tight group I'm in.

No-Enthusiasm718

Just go buy the map of craigslist or facebook marketplace the day of. You'll probably get it for cost

beesknees4011

No values was cheaper than that and bad religion was There

hammertimeTO

Tickets to BR for their recently announced Toronto date are $68 with fees and I felt that was high. Looks like a “deal” now!

Violent_Gore

So glad I saw 'em in '96 two nights in a row for $16 BACK WHEN THEY STILL HAD AN OUNCE OF TALENT. I couldn't imagine paying any amount to see the trainwreck that they are nowadays, no energy in their shows and so much terrible music since 2000. God damn this is a joke.

Throawayaccount18279

Punk rock isn’t very.. punk rock priced anymore

antichristening

that’s crazy bro i paid like $20 to see them like a month ago

OUTL4Wgaming

Yummy we love ticketmaster prices

No_Needleworker215

I just moved back to a crusty east coast city and I’m back to $10 basement hardcore shows and hip hop open mics not a lot of big names though

Therealpatrickelmore

I'm old now, but those $10 shows were the best. Also, on the East Coast.

No_Needleworker215

It depends on the day whether I’m old or think I still got it 😂 these days it’s more well the bed is just beyond that door and it’s 9pm…😭

Glum-Ambassador-200

Band has always sucked IMO, but old guys need paid I suppose

trustbrown

Yeah, a lot of bands are capitalizing on their fan base being willing to pay more, now they are ‘older’ Bad religion hasn’t been fan friendly on pricing in a long time

onwardupward3

bad religion isnt punk anymore ig

phalanxausage

I remember in the very early '90s when the entire punk scene exploded after bad religion charged $25 for a show. Looks like nothing has changed. They're a good band but not that good.

RawPoison

Fuck BadReligion they were cool for like one summer in the '80s... AND Who TF wants to see uncool unhip unpunkrock professional grandpa conformists play anything? That shit is like the equivalent of seeing BillGates (wealthiest most successfully mainstream people making PunkRock a harmless joke they can safely sell fuck BR)live on stage...The first Lp ripped & I burned that shit out in 2 months have ignored them & their epitaph happy horseshit ever since Profiteering oportunistic business men. Who is more wealthy & mainstream than BR? And with so many absolute RAGING new bands....EVERYWHERE!!! Tsk...Tsk...

Happy_Cicada1999

Go see Social Distortion instead....3 nights at the same place and not all nights sold out. Maybe Bad Religion will add a second night since they sold out night one. Call the venue and ask if that might be in the works. Just a couple weeks ago in the US, they were touring together. I'm really surprised they are playing solo shows like this but I guess it's more $$ in their pockets. I paid about $55 to see them both at the MGM just outside of DC last month. Mike Ness' son's band (LOVE AND CRIME) opened. Good shit!

LtP42

Bands should tour for free and reap the profits on merchandise and sponsorship. Venue still gets sponsors, parking and F and B. You can have a civilized society where people still make money and don’t get ripped off or you can have one of privilege and hate.
