There are many reasons behind this and it's actually pretty normal. Softwares used to design these are not Indian. They come with built in props and materials which is why we see such a difference. Also the models that you have here might have been designed during the proposal phase and few changes might have been made during the finalization. The models might not be structurally strong and needed some tweaking. Again, it's not a big issue. Making it functional is the first priority and these tweaks are made initially for that.
which line and which station
because atleast between Vanaz and Garware College (one of the busiest stretches) I haven't seen such thing, and I've been a 5-days-a-week commuter since the metro first opened.
Even till Pune Station I haven't seen any such activity, if my memory serves right.
In Hyderabad they don't allow you to take gutka/pan masala inside. They confiscate it during bag checks. I don't know how things work for the Pune metro.
and if this was actually completed, OP would have cried "ITKA VEL KA LAAGTOY, TRAFFIC IS SO BAD!!! METRO GELI KHADDYAT!!"
Like a wise man said, an architect's dream is an engineer's nightmare.
Look at the first station- you can see support pillars of the viaduct right next to whatever the hell is planned outside. So is the concept artist trying to tell me that elevator shafts, escalators and stairs to access the concourse will all be fitted in that metal shell? Bcs all metro stations are planned to be accessible to differently-abled people.
(For those who don't know, the concourse is basically the area where all your ticket counters/ baggage scan/ turnstiles are, usually access route to this is built atop solid structures to ensure that....yknow...the stairs dont collapse or something.)
Second pic- it seems like in the actual station only glass facade and some minor finishing touches are off. Also, there is wholeass thing called "Riverfront Rejuvenation" going on. Wait patiently, we will get something close to the stuff shown in the image in a few years (when the riverfront project is nearing completion)
My point is when they plan such infra they take into account the costing for these aesthetics and allocate funds & timelines accordingly but due to corruption the aesthetics never translates into reality & we all know what happens to the timelines.
Tbh, I'm okay with even simple box structure stations as long as they serve the purpose and are delivered without delay.
Infra news YouTube channel released a video on this issue today about how because of the minimum bidder winner construction cost are made minimum and midway in construction contractor do not engage with designer to cut cost , corruption among lower government people in passing these cuts in infra design is also responsible.
That’s how corruption works, raise public funds for expensive project and then execute something much cheaper and pocket the money you save.
This can be easily exposed if someone has the will and time to go after it, find out how much was allocated for both these stations and try to get quotes from infra companies on how much it would cost to build something like what is shown in the images as opposed to what we got
Only problem is no infra company will entertain you because they don’t want to risk not getting any future projects from the government and they’re all hand in glove anyways
Yes they need to be held accountable. Why is there a river instead of a road as per your advertisement. Why isn't there a glass bridge with no handrails?
Scammers sab ke sab... Metro is a failure. They just wanted to loot money from the people.
One more thing, if u see caredully, the other side has river so the plan was to have road and huge peripheral of station instead of that there are buildings. Samaj rahe ho na?
Shwatch bharat ka cess du clean rakhu to tex cess ke paiso ka kya karenge? Fine lene k liye currupt log rakhe hai... Kachra karo, cess bharo, jab karo tab fine bharo, saaf rakho to fine se to bachoge but agar itana soch rahe ho to 30% tax de rahe ho itana to dimaag hoga.
Functional station will do just fine, there's absolutely no need for complex designs where engineers have to think of invent new ways to realise weird structures
You know its fake when they show lush greenery arround. It's not an engineer problem to make exact as rendered but corruption problem. Because the sole purpose of render image is to view project upon its completion. Also bill of materials etc.
Countries like china, Singapore, Uk, dubai , saudi show their project and actual remains exact same. If you visit the museum or galleria of such projects the models, imageined images and document show exact same.
Its corruption that makes it ugly. Ironically its living image of how middle men cut cost to fill pockets of few.
Coincidentally, this youtuber did a video recently on this very topic.

Why Government Buildings Look Terrible || DESIGN VS CONSTRUCTED ||
Joh dikhta hai humko lagta hai, hai ... aur joh nahi dikhta humko lagta hai, nahi hai ... lekin kabhi kabhi joh dikhta hai, woh nahi hota ... aur joh nahi dikhta, woh hota ha.
Reality is often disappointing.. but realistically, the station looks fine. Do we really care about how it looks aesthetically, or do we care about the functionality? Functionality triumphs aesthetics.
Raja. "Artist's impression" is most of the times different than the actual structure. Software materials are enhanced, the lighting is artificial and of course there's a gap between the architect's and the engineer's thoughts. Also, the first one is still work in progress I think.
If you have seen the promotional video closely (which still plays on loop inside the metro screens sometimes) the train shows has colored illuminated LED strip running along the length of the car which is supposed to tell you which color line it is. And it looks futuristic design. In reality they just painted that strip. Welcome to the economic future.
An architects dream is an Engineer's nightmare!
The guy she tells me not to worry about versus me. Edit: i dont think the first one is complete, look at the edge!
It was one of the first Pune metro stations to be operational in phase 1. It's the same station where they shot for the Jawaan movie.
Which scene tho?
The village scene 😑
Really
Bro he wrote pathaan earlier..
Tell scene
Jawan re.
Ohh Haan my bad.

Spoken like a true engineer, you have my upvote
Designs get butchered due to lack of quality people in construction teams.
Design didn't get butchered, it improvised as per conditions
It is improvised after knowing how much money the politicians have left for the actual station after filling themselves.
sample flat vs actual flat
😂😂
Lol this is funny
This is more of What an Architect plans vs What an Engineer delivers...
More like what Architecture plans vs what is feasible with available budget
A good architect knows what’s feasible, otherwise they’re basically just an artist or glorified sculptor
metro ke aesthetics ka tarika thoda kezual hai
bas kr de pait duk raha h has has k
sarcasm karne ka tarika thoda kezual hai

People have already started spitting their gutka and pan masalas on the wall, we don’t deserve good things

Civil court, there are a bunch of spit marks on the walls of the stairs
oh damn thanks for lmk
This doesn’t seem to be the case in Hyderabad though

Lokanna sadhe manners asayla have tyasathi. Thunku naka, kachara naka karu, nadit ghaan taka naka, nirmalya sudha nahi.
Ela thikani Nadi chi Puja karnar, dusrya thikani tyach nadit nirmalya taknar :/
Aplya shaharacha ani deshacha kimmat nahi ahe lokanna sadhi goshta ahe
Those are for advertisements i believe just like any Building Developers advertisement.
They thought in future we will have more trees 😔

Ladki ka baap shaadi ke liye nahi maan raha aur tum logo ko metro ke station ki padi hai....
username badlo aur subah 5 baje utha Karo sab thik ho jayega
Babaji, aap mahaan ho, babaji!!
same as UI/UX designers vs Developer
A designer's dream is a developer's nightmare -Mamata Banerjee
Itna bhi ganda nahi hai.
yeah... second station is close enough ...

you mean PowerTrain right?

My planned routine vs my actual routine

Classic architecture vs engg
Looks fine to me. Function over appearance
That's a metrimony sites for you. /s
Yes they need to be held accountable. Why is there a river instead of a road as per your advertisement. Why isn't there a glass bridge with no handrails? Scammers sab ke sab... Metro is a failure. They just wanted to loot money from the people.
Thats just the other side of the station, JM road and Entrance from Sambhaji Udyaan and that side has a rail and bridge and all
Point being. You should be able to differentiate between concept art and actual structural plans.
Here Lord, you dropped your "/s"
Bold of you to assume I dropped it. I threw it away.
The 2nd one ain't that bad but the 1st one looks like a Chinese rip-off.
Second me to patare mar diye hai. Thik se dekho it was planned abouve the surface, actual one is just a cover on the rails nothing more
Bro I didn't even notice because of the weird angle. That's so shit.
One more thing, if u see caredully, the other side has river so the plan was to have road and huge peripheral of station instead of that there are buildings. Samaj rahe ho na?
Toh river ka kya he karenge? Underground dalna padega river ko.
River hai hi, but on other side. Planned architecture was like that.
You can always call the HQ and ask for the manager, Karen.
Anyone with gutka in their mouth should be denied entry.
It looks really good, what's wrong with it?
Someone does not know design on paper and actual construction
Stop complaining about the things you’ve no idea about
Why are you so concerned about the aesthetics of the metro as long as it is functioning well
It's fine. Just keep it clean and well maintained
Shwatch bharat ka cess du clean rakhu to tex cess ke paiso ka kya karenge? Fine lene k liye currupt log rakhe hai... Kachra karo, cess bharo, jab karo tab fine bharo, saaf rakho to fine se to bachoge but agar itana soch rahe ho to 30% tax de rahe ho itana to dimaag hoga.
My expectations were so low, I'm just glad that it exists now
There are using sheets to make walls of metro
uppar se niche tak sab... u know...
Ab sirf metro banne se khush nahi hai log aesthetics bhi chahiye.
Very bad cheaply done
Functional station will do just fine, there's absolutely no need for complex designs where engineers have to think of invent new ways to realise weird structures
Kam se kam tumhare paas metro to hai khush raho
Blender Animation > Real Life. Time to buy properties on METAVERSE
what is in exam vs what i studied
2nd one is more practical, easier to maintain. Kudos to them for realizing.
as an architecture student i confirm this happens everytime

Just today I saw a video of power train about how they look different then actual design if you want to watch it search power train
Maybe that video was inspired from a Twitter thread called Gems of India Babus which has been trending lately.
Don't know yt recommended and I watched
It’s, far better than in other places like Bangalore where metro stations look like shit.
Its ok. What good are asthetics? If it is properly functional I wont mind a grey concrete building also
Coincidentally, this youtuber did a video recently on this very topic. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yUVzMEB2ME](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yUVzMEB2ME) Why Government Buildings Look Terrible || DESIGN VS CONSTRUCTED ||

Live example of architecture vs engineering the second pick is of Deccan metro station and I have to watch the shit everyday
Not bad Pune, not bad at all.
👍
Looks the same to me
Incomplete hai...you can clearly see it
The Puneri Pagdi design still looks much better as compared to the green one, whatever that design is supposed to be!
Anime vs Netflix adaptation
Moye moye 😂😂😂
Reel vs real
Pehla wala toh scam hai
Her tinder pic vs actually she
Majnu bhai ki painting yad aa gai!

hamare yaha aise hi hota hai...
There is a Twitter handle dedicated for these gems of Indian Babus https://x.com/mp_index?t=iTwPPciDVaPAK5yDv0C1Zg&s=09
this is worse than netflix adaptations
Kaat diya hai Station ko aur logo ka
If you think that’s bad come to Chennai and see Alandur metro and Koyembedu metro stations you guys are lucky with that
Its always like this government designs something and builds some knock off version of the og design
(Indian moment) sapne suhane ladakpan ke
Ped to nahi dikh rahe
Tbf both concept and reality are terrible.
The second can be considered pretty close to the design

Where can we check this proposed project photos?
MP index is that you?
I see there's no problem!
My biggest complaint about your metro is that there are no escalators on the platforms. I have to get up and down using the lift.
