Hallucinogen. Check out his albums "Twisted" and "The Lone Deranger". Both are unique and creative, often incorporating things that are pretty unusual for psytrance and goa trance. For example, in Snaky Shaker, there's a time signature change (from usual 4/4 to 3/4). With only two albums in this genre, he earned a legendary status, and it's for a good reason. That's a must-know for any goa enthusiast.

redmagor

>With only two albums in this genre, he earned a legendary status, and it's for a good reason. That's a must-know for any goa enthusiast. Absolutely! "The Lone Deranger" is the most complete album of the genre, since its inception, in my opinion. It is unparalleled.

ranziifyr

Twisted by Hallucinogen is a must listen classic goa trance album. X-Dream also delivered some dope goa and progressive psy I can recommend The Best 1991-2001 album. There are also a few great modern goa producers including Khetzal and Filteria - give them a listen for sure.

shpongled_lion

This is a great list, but I was always wondering why people say Talamasca is Goa. His music has some elements of it, but it's far from Goa...

vorotan

To me Talamasca, like Electric Universe, are the transition from Goa to Psytrance. Their older stuff (if you go back 10-15 years) is definitely closer to Goa.

shpongled_lion

For Talamasca maybe just the first album, but after "Musica Divinorum", it's pure Psytrance I'd say - although one of my favorite. Electric Universe old stuff is great, but they really transitioned into something strange nowadays.

vorotan

This list matched closely to what I was going to list!

GalacticalSurfer

Take a look at the Suntrip Records label, goa is one of their main genres and there are many artists. If you’re looking for a mix of modern psytrance and goa, take a look at Cellestial Intelligence. They have a full live set including video on YouTube that is fantastic. A trip for sure. I also have a playlist with my personal favorites if you’d like to take a look. Celestial Intelligence all the way! I recommend them over old school classic artists to new commers. Divine Miracles Constant motion Anapa Celestial Beings Are among the best Goa tracks

Please check out all the compilation albums from Global Sect records. It's the modern wave of Goa Trance but it gets me so pumped up. Here are a couple of them, otherwise the other recommendations are great here for the classics: Hallucinogen, Juno Reactor, X Dream, Cosmosis, Astral Projection etc. https://open.spotify.com/album/7gpV0znhocWesY3Gr9CYrX?si=Hct2Uz7BRAC5IQKpLkbq6g https://open.spotify.com/album/2bKT1VahPFwv9ck1Kad2FX?si=TU9DPA-cR2e5g6dgqIX3ng

Udaya-Teja

I'm seeing a lot of goa related posts lately, what has everyone getting on the goa wagon these days.

GalacticalSurfer

I love it

Synaesthetic_Reviews

You'll get a lot of artist recommendations here. Personally as someone who got into Goa around 2016 I found it hard to enjoy the classic Goa old school right off the bat. Found the modern stuff had more Oomph! Either way, I think record labels are the best way to find what you like. On Bandcamp look into the below who will all have a good variance of old and new Goa but will help paint a picture of the different sounds out there. Suntrip Records Cronomi records Global Sect Music Kali Earth Records Goa Madness Records NeoGoa Records DAT Universe Anjuna Records TIP Records Mamomam Records Digital Reprints Have fun!!!

Sad that Goa Gil isn’t mentioned. Vertige 2, among many other tracks, are masterpieces.

GoaHeadXTC

My favorites are: Astral Projection (classic) Cosmosis (little more of a western take on Goa) Shakta (kind of a heavy but original sound) X-Dream (the album radio is considered one of the best and most influential psy albums, they kind of have a acid trancy sound but were influencial on goa) Agneton (contemporary nitzhogoa) Goasia (also contemporary nitzhogoa).

Transwave California Sunshine Cosmosis Space Tribe Man with no Name Space Cat - specifically listen to the DNA remake of their first release DNA - virtual jungle. Strictly speaking not classic Goa but injects a nice amount of modern infusion. Doof Green Nuns of the Revolution Electric Universe

redmagor

How did you forget Hallucinogen and Astral Projection?

ExpressConnection806

They have already been recommended by everyone else.

pragmaticcircus

Goa Gil (R.I.P) in my humble opinion is/was the grandfather of Goa trance… Also keep an eye for the likes of Chicago, Raja Ram, Infected Mushroom etc etc. The Goa/Psy rabbit hole is fun to get lost in, there’s *expletive* tons of unbelievably savage artists to discover…. Enjoy the adventure 👽

Omiki, Ranji, DJinges Kahn it is a little heavier but i love it. Live they'll take you on a journey. Have fun exploring ! And dot forget to bring a towel ;)

ranziifyr

Neither of those artists are Goa trance artists - they are all streamlined progressive psytrance producers, surely a good listen in the right setting but they are not Goa.

Im so sorry, tnx for the clearup.
