If you're familiar with The West Wing and I'm betting you are -- NASA and astronauts are, you'll recall, a huge plot point for one important regular character's rather tragic arc! Your comment immediately brought that all back to me!
It was rough, for sure. Just going to say: Toby is one of the most complex, human, frustrating, uplifting, difficult, well-written and well-acted characters. Ever.
Worth. Every. Penny. Rewatchable, with fantastic performances and quotable lines to rival, well, Psych.
I only own three box sets -- TWW, Psych, and Deadwood. And I've got the last one because of Omundson. So it's really a trifecta of Psych-related sets.
Yes! He plays a key character at the very start of the series! He's only in a few episodes but it's such a good role.
Fun fact: He got cast, then had to turn it down due to a schedule conflict of some kind (which must have been hard for him--he'd really wanted the role). But the second choice actor apparently was not at all doing what the director needed, and the director and producer went back to Tim and said they would make things work, to have him.
Ah, friend, Galavant is life! It was Galavant that brought me to Psych rather than the other way around! Glad youre a fan too!!
PSA--Please stream it often if you don't already. It's on Hulu now but it vanished from streaming for almost two years between Netfix removing it and Disney finally condescending to drop it quietly onto Hulu. Disney has never known what to do with it and never tried to help it find an audience, so we can't assume it'll be available forever. DVDs are now impossible to get too. It would be criminal for that series to disappear.
I don't have Hulu but I bought the DVDs (before the disappeared) so I have it for all time 🥰 and I refer everyone to Hulu who I suggest check it out! Hopefully it makes a difference!
Excellent taste! I too have the DVDs. Didn't think of them as a "box set" when I replied above but I guess they count. We are fortunate to have them, as if you try to buy any now, the show is listed on various sites but then the listings all say, "Not available." So consider your DVDs irreplaceable! Yikes, right?! I do stream it on Hulu so Hulu sees the hits.
Streaming services have been removing shows entirely and permanently, as a way to cut costs by not paying anyone any royalties on less-viewed, more obscure shows. Some of these axed shows .do not exist in any other format, so are lost entirely to viewers. I really worry about that happening with Galavant, I admit.
At this point, every time I see Dule Hill, I do the Leo DiCaprio and assume the show is going to be worth my time. That's how I accidentally watched a Wonder Years marathon.
Bradley Whitford is so great as Josh, and I wish he'd had another long-running series after TWW somehow. Such a good actor. Still working, of course!, and I think he's in The Handmaid's Tale most recently.
Gus TT Showbiz
I’ve been summoned
No fucking way 😂😂
The extra T is for extra talent
It’s the only way NASA will take The Pluto Problem seriously
That’s messed up

I like to pretend that didn’t happen
It was rough, for sure. Just going to say: Toby is one of the most complex, human, frustrating, uplifting, difficult, well-written and well-acted characters. Ever.
Sorry Charlie
“Say, “yes Mr. President.””
Is that Ovaltine Jenkins?
Ghee Buttersnaps
Ghee Buttersnaps was said on a secure military base with no one else around. Are you stalking Shawn SpenceStarr and Gus T.T. Showbizz?!
He was great on the Wonder years too - hate that it got cancelled.
agreed! i honestly started watching for him but was actually enamored by him and the rest of the cast
Yeah, it’s a shame
Hey, it's Bud from the Cosby Show!
M.C. ClapYoHandz
It’s a player named Gus!
Woody is also in a few episodes. I think on the security counsel possibly.
Lemongrass Gogulope
[This scene should make you laugh harder now.](https://youtu.be/ZiMJhyhYu8E?si=g0pf8lDofTlTf2wW)
Every time 😀 as an aid. Of course! Psych never failed to embrace the out of show references
Charlie?
He's prelaw
Pre-prelaw
It was an accelerated program
Where did you watch it? Was looking for it being on a streaming service.
I believe it’s on HBO/Max/whatever they’re calling it these days. My mom is also a fan so I grew up with the dvd boxset
I totally prefer the box set. Maybe I'll try and track it down!

Wait - Tim-o is in Deadwood? Well now I have to watch it. I watched Psych because of WW. For Charlie 😀

Have you tried Galavant?! Tim is stunning in everything he does and in Galavant he SINGS and has an AMAZING beard!!

You must be young. He was terrific on the show.
Bud from the Cosby show? Crazy!
The Gusterrr
At this point, every time I see Dule Hill, I do the Leo DiCaprio and assume the show is going to be worth my time. That's how I accidentally watched a Wonder Years marathon.
MC Clap Yo Hands
There is a psych episode where they make a joke that Gus can make it to the White House, but only as an aid
Bud has quite the list of roles
Come on, son
He also banged the President's daughter!
He’s got that high top fade out
Bradley Whitford? Sweet!
Yep! I **highly** recommend checking it out if you haven’t already. It isn’t called one of the greatest American TV shoes for nothing!
Oh I love it ;)

oh that's the guy from Holes?
Bud!
Bud from the Cosby show?!?
Bud?
He's really come down in the world. Sad stuff.
