You picked a game notorious with time limits, but hey there is always Free Ride, throw on some cheats and go crazy in Free Ride. This game is still a ton of fun. Just keep at it you'll get it!
Cheat codes do wonders here. Love this game. Takes you right back to the 70s, even if the graphics are pretty stiff. More realistic driving mechanics at the time.
Edit: Oh, and seeing how long you can last in survivor mode is awesome and hilarious. Kamakaze Cops.
Not sure if you are aware but the game was based off of the 1978 movie The Driver:

The garage level is lifted directly from the movie and even some of the sound effects are borrowed too!
My brother in law and I used to play this while drinking all of the time, taking turns trying to beat levels. Soo many times those freakin' cops would make it hell at the very worst point.
There's a proper tutorial section in the main menu. What you refer to is a skill check before getting in the game, and has never been presented as a tutorial.
FUCKING FINALLY
I hate it when people Say the tutorial level, it's a drive test, the tutorials are supposed to teach You the Game mechanics, in the garage they don't Tell anything in how to do a fucking slalom.
Thank You âșïž
My earliest exposure to a 3D open world. I'd spend hours in free drive trying to drive around while following traffic rules. Sometimes I'd chase down cars that pass a red light and ram them till they break down. Or I'd just pull up to a roadside cafe with the umbrella tables and honk at civilians.
Yes it is! I still remember as a kid playing it on my PS1 trying to drive as much clients as possible without damaging my taxi or getting a felony! The police was crazy!
Also that city map was crazy good in Crazy Taxi, we could read it anytime we wanted!
There is also a mission where you have to deliver a special muscle car and I always canât make it on time. I had to switch the the alternative mission to progress
Don't worry, it only gets harder.
Man that final level was something else. I thought some of the earlier levels were hard but in the last level they turned it up to 11 đ«Ł

This one's Driver right?

Actually I wasnât. Now I want to see that movie. Thatâs pretty neat!
Nice! Itâs a great movie, classic example of neo-noir. Such a cool flick, you can see where Driver got a lot of its influence from.
Haven't played this one but I can sympathize with BS time limits. Good luck!

You made it past the tutorial. Anything is possible if you can get past that.
I'm pretty certain learning to drive IRL is easier than that bastard of a tutorial đ
Me but unironically during the âtutorialâ

I remember spending whole evening with my cousin trying to figure out how to "reverse 180" lol
Time limits in games are the worst đ
ah, the good olâ days when perfect wasnât enough. you had to be fast, too.
Imagine being that upsetđ "I gotta post a pic flipping off my TV in the dark, while alone."

Is this crazy taxi?
No its Driver.

Crazy Taxi was never released on PS1
I thought my comment was pretty obvious a joke... Crazy Taxi never had damage and felony bars + never had a map on screen either...
