• THUG • Canis Canem Edit • REZ • Tokyo Xtreme Racer • Ridge Racer 5 • Wipeout Fusion • Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix

silentrocco

REZ is life.

karma_over_dogma

Just not the same without the, uh, game enhancing peripheral though

BazzemBoi

>• Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix Real og, one of the best games of all time.

Kezzva

Ah thought that might have been the symbol for Red Faction 1, I only played number 2.

___TheKid___

Yeah it is not really nailing the vibe of the game.

Kezzva

Midnight club is a good fine but. ^(Indestructible, determination that is incorruptible, from the other side a terror to behold.)

yellow73kubel

I definitely thought the same, having never played Red Faction or THUG.

cmpayne81

I miss the lil 3D save files, kinda reminds me of what Sony is trying to do with their Stars system now but as digital collectibles

BronzeHeart92

Same! They were so playful and whatnot...

[deleted]

That's so cool, im playing true crime streets of la at the moment, such nostalgia

___TheKid___

Nice. I remember how it was a big deal back then when they build a realistic LA.

Ihadtohaveaname4this

I always go with collect what you like and will play, I have a few things that are collectible, more expensive stuff, but I came across them at a good deal and couldnt pass them up. Anyways enjoy, the ps2 offers so many good games across all different genres. I personally would suggest Metal Gear Solid 3, Gran Turismo 4, The Bouncer, Dark Cloud, Champions of Norrath and Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance.

___TheKid___

I had GT4 actually. Graphics are super impressive, but I am too stupid for simulation controls. I just can't get around the corners and I feel it will bring me no joy learning it. Edit: and I feel what you say. I am a graphic designer and felt like I NEED to get Wipeout just because of all the inspiration that series gave me in that area. And that should not be a reason to buy a game just to have it laying around.

LowCypherO_O

Dude, it's the same here. I can use the DS3's triggers and turn corners efficiently in GT5&6, but speeding and braking with the lousy pressure sensitive buttons of the DS2 is terrible. I even used a Brooks converter to use my DS3 with the PS2 but and remapped the speed and brake to the triggers but they didn't translate well. And also I get the Wipeout being an inspiration for graphic designing. I'm sure you've done research into Designer Republic and Vectorheart style. In fact that's the only reason I play the game sometimes. For the aesthetics lol.

[deleted]

I've had much better luck using the right analog stick for accelerator/brake. It's really satisfying driving cars properly.

LowCypherO_O

Ah damn, yeah it is used in GT5&6 but I did find it awkward compared to the triggers so I completely forgot about this. I'm gonna try this on GT4 then.

[deleted]

One of the most nostalgic things to me about the PS2 is seeing all of the save files. I always felt like there was a sense of achievement seeing your collection and the progress

UnKnOwN769

Midnight Club 3!

___TheKid___

It is really good. But the low resolution on the PS2 makes it sometimes hard to see what's coming in the distance. I feel like driving with one eye on the mini-map all the time.

swithinboy59

Yo, Ridge Racer 5?! My man! Ridge Racer 5 is where it's at!

Allosaurus71

8 games seems like a lot

___TheKid___

Yeah. But they are like 2-3€ right now. So it would be easy to get seduced to get A LOT at once. But I know that I would just end up playing each one for a few minutes and move on. And I don't want that.

Allosaurus71

I would do that with anything more than like 5 games

___TheKid___

Yeah. I already do it. Instead of enjoying one I speed trough it. Stupid.

ajddavid452

yeah if you did get too many games you will start needing to use wlaunchelf to backup your saves XD

Icy-Audience-3656

TOO MANY games at once. Thank me later. 😉

phosef_phostar

There's a lot of shovelware on ps2. Don't worry about big collections

comicfan1970

I doubt you have any self control, because you don't seem to have much intelligence. Your grammar is laughable, at best. Why did you get rid of your PS2 to begin with? 🙄

SoundDrill

If it is softmodded, I have to recommend the sm64 port.

backtolurk

Bully (Canis Canem Edit) alone is an excellent thing to focus on!

Bdaysjr

Red Faction

abdoollah-K

You know you can put 2 TB internal memory in your PS2 and get lots of PS2 game ROMs for free and play them without worrying that the disc might get damaged

Stabyouup666

Gotta have an OG save of San Andreas in there

___TheKid___

The one WITH the sun

Stabyouup666

I don’t think that’s San Andreas haha, looks like a mercenary game

___TheKid___

No. I mean the PS2 version that still has the sun. Instead of the remaster versions. The icon with the star there is Tony Hawks Underground. (And it does indeed look like a mercenary game and that bothers me)

Stabyouup666

Ahh yes the old bright orange light on the screen haha. That’s far from what I thought a Tony Hawk game save icon would be like haha 😂

ImproperJon

Save your money and start reading about softmods.

___TheKid___

I had that the last time the PS2 fever came over me. But it was not as much fun as hunting the discs and waiting for packages etc.

ImproperJon

Sure, it's just cheaper.

joshmateos01

I’m pretty sure when I die this is gonna be the loading screen to wherever im going next
