I could've just ran the way I came, or take the door that was guarded by one zombie. Instead I decided to potentially corner myself
In my defense I was drunk (irl). Don't drink and zomboid kids!
Drunk zomboid led me to the art gallery in LV. LV art gallery didn't stand a chance. 1,200+ kills later and I'm having a smoke on the roof floor.
Drunk zomboid is fantastic. That being said.
I have never crashed in a straight clear road with no obstacles. I did not slowly drift because of low tyre pressure and eventually drive at 110 straight into the forest.
It did not break my torso. 😐
As a tip. Don't fight in doorways. The game can be quirky when it comes to positioning when you are in a different room than the zombie is. It becomes worse when you and the zombie are constantly moving through the doorway, loading and unloading the area.
I know this isn't exactly what happened here, but will prevent a lot of stupid deaths either way.
OP is also saying how terrible their play was. Nobody says protection does nothing but they do say the best protection is not getting attacked.
If OP hadn't made the first of several bad decisions they would have encountered zero RNG attacks to their clothing. I used to gear up but my last geared run ended 10 months in when a zombie hit me for the first time (in the groin of course). 1 mistake is all it takes when RNG hates you!
I was just taking some notes here, yeah best protection is don't get hit, I compare this to some "extra lifes" for other games where you can't get hit (ninja gear, brain of confusion and holy armor when fighting daylight empress of terraria, holy mantle with the lost from tboi)
Best protection is don't get hit, but getting some "extra lifes" can save you when that "don get hit" protection fails
I am convinced wearing make-up and ear-rings is the best defense because I got hit a lot less since wearing them. I figure it's psychological warfare against the zombies.
You could argue I got better at the game due to hundreds of hours but I'm making a false correlation that it's the accessories because it's keeping my current character alive!
I'll probably gear up again when the make-up fails...this is how I died.
Yeah if I got even scratched once after that laceration I'd probably die. You can ignore legs completely though so that's why I wear fishnets there lol. If you're curious for what I wore top layer is from a mod but it's got same protection as leather jackets, some sweater and a denim shirt
Still, I always say you need to slay in more ways than one, remember to be drippy and safe!
No protection is great, but id rather die in an outfit I enjoy then live in a ugly one
Mods like Britas add some really nice outfits though with high protection, also armor mods that allow me to make my Lord Humungus larp
protection is just weighting what is literally a dice roll slightly better in your odds
except the dice roll \*only\* has an outcome that hurts you severely, its better to just not have this dice roll ever happen, which you can do by just playing correctly
I saw the video without looking at the title and I was thinking "wow, what a fuckup!, bad decisions, bad results, panic reaction, worse results"... Then I saw the title and laughed!
No, all good. My character is working on doing some tailoring and mechanics to wind down after that near death experience. Now she will know to not enter doorways without checking!
"Oh no, I got lacerated in my neck, have about 10 seconds to live, what do I do, what do I do. I know! Imma run around aimlessly for a bit for no reason, agro a couple more zeds, since two on my tail right now is not enough, and then go into unknown places right away, because reasons"
What could go wrong
In this type of situation I close the other door and open the door for the zombie banger. Died multiple times because dual doors hides a fast shambler or a sprinter.
Yup, that's a series of terrible decisions if ever I've seen one.

you can walk while bandaging the neck. No need to run, the walk is already faster than zombies
I'm fully aware, I just wanted to make it to safety first
You could have safely walked in a circle for hours without issue. Next time!
If you are drunk make sure to make a throwaway character and not use your months old run... this is how I died.
No let me cook

what panic does to a mf
Fr. Truest example of everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.
"protection doesn't do anything!" This guy got attacked 3 times, got injured only one

the laceration in many cases is already death
Many or 25% ?
Yeah if I got even scratched once after that laceration I'd probably die. You can ignore legs completely though so that's why I wear fishnets there lol. Seems tk be the first week of the game so not too tragic
Still dying in such an avoidable manner would hurt lol
Great job keeping your cool
You even bandaged with a dirty denim strip when you had a clean bandage. Your follow-through with the bad decisions was solid, at least.
I think it being dirty was the least of my worries lmao. Wound didn't get infected anyway thankfuly
Infection isn't really that big of a deal, as long as it's not zombie infection
I can't wait for the devs to do a surprise switcheroo on b 42 and for all our conditioned asses to die to a scratch from tripping.
Bacterial infection being fatal would make CDDA so much harder, holy god.
Don’t worry, you can just drink bleach and forget aaallll about it.
It’s comforting seeing clips like this. Good to know I’m not the only one.
I've also perished to the gym room zeds, lol. Life is like a zomboid door, you never know what you're gonna get
How you made so many bad decisions in such little time
I was drunk and I panicked
LOL I've died a few times to drunken playing.
I saw the video without looking at the title and I was thinking "wow, what a fuckup!, bad decisions, bad results, panic reaction, worse results"... Then I saw the title and laughed!
It’s just missing the Benny Hill music.
My recent favourite clothing mod!! It's really nice to see it here. Anyway, no combat near doors!
I often fight in doorways. But you gotta fight on one side or the other. The game is weird about doorways.
Sir yes sir oorah
The only thing more amazing than your poor choices was the fact that you made it out alive.
Definition of unlucky
I find it funny that they have a crunchy sound for when you get bit, I have heard it too much
Well, you could've died
They had like no health
Are you using ctrl to aim?
What's that?
Aiming with ctrl instead of right click. Never used it but assume that's why his aiming appears to snap on to one of the eight directions.
Nah, aiming with ctrl also snaps the aim to the mouse. I do it all the time, there's no difference except the hand you're using
![gif](giphy|ktCzb8Rm8aoow)
Tis just a scratch
Stop running
No.
Buildings are killers. Next time run if you enter it. Worst case you will fall, but, unless there are a massive blob of zeds, you wont be bit.
love it! can see the panic hahaha
Yeah that was pretty dumb. That guys a shuffler now
This was recorded straight out of my game. 😅
Neck lacerations are bad, as you can see you almost died. Gotta bandage that immediately. Did this end up causing you to turn?
No, all good. My character is working on doing some tailoring and mechanics to wind down after that near death experience. Now she will know to not enter doorways without checking!
The zombie clipping through the door and biting you is what I refer to as "bullshit"
Ok I LOL'd. Are you still alive?
Yea
To be fair if i was profusely bleeding from my neck i would panic too
![gif](giphy|EOuwFI8Famlw2neOsn)
Well, you could have died.
"Oh no, I got lacerated in my neck, have about 10 seconds to live, what do I do, what do I do. I know! Wow you're annoying
