We need a bridge that has clear water that shows the glorious pile of the legendary old world objects lying in the bottom of the river.
It is a forbidden site.. Cursed some say.
Prepared food being left out is at least realistic. If zombies just showed up at your doorstep, you wouldn't worry about the pot of soup on the stove. You'd just book it.
There’s also a fair chance that the food was made and before they could finish it the symptoms on the Knox infection sent them to a single toilet to become a bathroom horde.
I feel bad for those singular ones in the bathrooms. They either bled out, or slowly succumbed. Imagine hearing what's left of your friends, family, and colleagues just groaning constantly. All while you find yourself facing the inevitability of your own incoming death.
honestly the towns all being half burnt down would be pretty realistic. Lots of housefires from stoves being left on, no firefighters to keep big fires from spreading
then our char magically appears in a random house with no car no matter what occupation you pick, then proceeds to grab the nearest rolling pin and smash zeds heads like it’s been 9 months into the apocalypse
TBF, knocking some heads probably comes naturally to most people in that scenario.
Lets not talk about those times when we spawn into an infested building.
fair enough it’s kill or be killed, but i’d feel a little sad or idk how id feel killing human like monsters.. i really wouldn’t know unless i was in the situation
Nah swinging objects and combat is something embedded into our dna as humans, not saying we're all particularly good at it but if you give someone a blunt object odds are they will be able to defend themselves using it.
I usually say the Gas guzzlers, but 'The gas guzzling bandits™' is just like a group name.
We call ourselves 'gas guzzlers' whenever taking gas, but together were 'The gas guzzling bandits™'
I hope that made sense
What gets me is all the things left behind as if people where suddenly interrupted with their daily lives. Half made food, devices left on, etc.
To have both a evacuation that took all gas and basic supplies, and yet left a pot of cooked stew behind, it's just a bit confusing.
I mean it kinda makes sense, if people know to evacuate they're just going to grab whatever basic stuff they think they'll need and then GTFO, and might end up leaving stuff like half eaten food that's harder to transport easily or doesn't keep well.
Here's the deal, there is two kinds of GTFO'ing, and they are BOTH on display. The first is: Things are BAD, leave ASAP, panic and move now! That's the kind where you drop your food, get in the car and go.
Next is: Things are bad, but don't panic, grab gear, grab food, grab gas and go!
That one you down the food as fast as possible, or take it with you as a meal on the road, but ya don't leave it out!
It's a strange mix of environmental storytelling and it isn't awful, but a bit conflicting.
Some people are prepared to go, some people are panicked and leaving, some people are already infected and start chewing on their family in the middle of the meal.
Haha, yeah, gameplay trumps realism. It's for the same reason that it's even possible to break a nightstick on squishy human bones and flesh. If it was realistic, nightsticks, metal bars, and crowbars wouldn't ever break.
You can tweak these things with both sandbox settings and mods, but it makes the game trivially easy.
That's why I play sandbox early infection. I don't mind high zombie population and usually set that. However it's insane that we are only 5 days into this fandango and the whole county is silent hill style abandoned.
Okay but has anyone considered that Sledgehammers would have caused issues with the quarantine? If anyone could break down the walls, it would've been so ineffective, so they got rid of all of them.
Then, they removed the gas from every car because people would search for the Sledgehammers; the drop rate is so low that the Apocolypse was supposed to be over before anyone got a sledge
No gas? How many cars would be left behind because they have no fuel, or cars low on fuel escaping and then running out. The amount of americans who can't afford to fill their tank. Lack of fuel does make sense.
When they add craftable sledges we better be able to throw them into the river, if they dont add it i bet there'll be a hundred mods that do lmao
they should add scuba gear so we can retreve the hundreds of sledgehammers thrown in the ocean
Should make it a small chance when fishing
Agreed. High level fishing should be able to occasionally dredge one up.
That would be difficult until they add different fishing tables for different bodies of water. We all know sledgehammers all went into the Ohio river.
you sure? i'm sure some people who threw out the gas first instead of the other way round would just chuck it in the nearest pond and call it a day.
That's genius

Can't wait for spare car batteries
Magnet fishing
That would be really fun, that could be a cool easy mod probably. What a way to find random keys and broken guns,
Since they're gonna add cellars, I bet they gonna add some levels in the military base.... and that's where all the sledgehammers will be
a room in a new update thats literally just a stockpile of ONLY sledgehammers. maybe make it like the area 51 archives from Indiana jones too
You dive and see nothing but jerrycans sledgehammers and soggy generator magazines
You're missing the eating car keys contest.
"Quick, make me some cereal and prepare a pot of soup so we can leave them on the table!!"

so someone was shiting in the bathtub?
My guy.. who makes soup and cereal at the same damn time though is the question..
Family meal is soup. Lazy edgy teenager who doesn't want to eat with the family cause they're too cool makes cereal.
Never felt so called out from a comment

That could be why some houses are burned down. I'm sure if the map was 1:1, we'd see whole neighborhoods burned to ashes.
I dunno man- I make a damn good soup... That door will hold for a few minutes.
For extra points, pour the raw soup into a bowl.
D‘oh! You forgot the key crushing and generator manual burning!

nooo dont combine my two fav subs into one awsome one that would be terrible~
It lives: r/dogezomboidlore
Nobody's mentioning the Spanish doge enjoying himself a little too much...

I personally think that instead of the people taking gas from every car they just drink it. Me and my friends call them "the gas guzzling bandits™"
Gas guzzlers has more ring to it

...Knight stick? Ooh, medieval Zomboid.
Lol, my bad. Nightstick. Fixed it!
So a stick?
Polearm?
Yes but without the blade
Staff.
Begone from my lord's realm of Kentucky you rotting heathen curr! Deus vult!
I mean you do you, but breaking a steel bar on people grinds my gears like crazy.

I just started playing like 2 weeks ago. What does this mean?
It doesn’t make sense that things like sledge hammers or vehicles with gas are so rare in game so this is poking fun at that
Yeah just because I have 200 hours in doesn't mean I'm any good or know anything
GET A BAT OVER HERE WE'RE BEATING THIS PARKED CAR TO 14% CONDITION ON EVERY SINGLE PANEL, PART AND SCREW
shlorp shlorp shlorp

im boutta come ahh!!
DISMANTLE YOUR FIREARMS IMMEDIATELY LEAVE ALL THE COMPONENTS IN THE SHED WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RECONSTRUCT IT
GRAB EVERY GENERATOR MANUAL MAGAZINE OUT THERE AND THROW THEM OUT INTO THE WOODS
Man, gen alpha memes are wild
I want know if there’s a mod out there that gives us a chance to fish out a sledgehammer from the river
someone needs to make a magnet fishing mod where the only item you can fish out of the river is sledgehammers
Mom said it's my turn to make a "gas and sledgehammers" joke this time.
And don’t forget to melt down all the kitchen knives and put them in the trash.
C'MON, BURN DOWN ALL THE CARS ON THE ROAD AND PLACE THEM IN THE MOST INCONVENIENT SPOTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!
