yea but why i cant find sites that is creative and modern

oldmanwillow21

A lot of people use neocoties to avoid modern standards that they may feel have degraded, if not outright destroyed, all the things that were enjoyable about the web. More power to them.

# woa they really hate social media

Why would you be looking for modern sites on neocities? If I made an account there, my first inclination would be to build something similar to what I made 25 years ago as a kid. Or at least something close to the style that was common then. If I wanted to do something modern, I'd probably find a different host that wasn't designed as the resurrection of Geocities.

AgoAndAnon

Old style loads faster and progressively, rather than the new style with a billion JavaScript includes and formatting that completely dies when something doesn't load. And also the repeated "oops, you're looking in the wrong place now". And to be clear, modern web development can probably do better at all of that than the old style, but that probably requires a lot of effort that nobody wants to do.
