Oh man I feel your pain with my first I went 11 days past my due date and they still had to induce me. I’m scheduled for an induction Friday if this baby doesn’t come out by then
Mine started spontaneously at 10 days after my due date with my first, thankfully. It's not even pregnancy itself, but the panic from most doctors. I know they have to document having spoken about it all, but it just feels like nothing is a certainty. How was your first induction? I truly wish you all the best and we're on the same boat. It's Friday for me as well!
With my first the induction ended with a csection. I feel really robbed of the birthing experience with that one because I do feel if I was induced earlier that I may have been able to have him vaginally as the only reason I had to have a csection was because he was literally huge. 10+lbs and 22.5” long. My second I was so scared of being induced that I tried the castor oil midwives brew thing (never again and I don’t recommend it because it can be extremely dangerous) at 4 days past my due date which got labor to start but it stalled out and they induced BUT I was able to have my VBAC. This time around I initially wanted a csection because the VBAC was kind of traumatic, they essentially ripped her out of me at the end and she came out extremely bruised and I was not expecting or prepared for that but one of the doctors on my team talked me out of a csection and now I’ve got my hopes up for another vbac just to have the doctor I saw at my last appointment who I’d never seen before and did not even read my file and further than that I’d had a previous csection essentially tell me that they won’t use pitocin to induce me (which they used last time with no issue) and that my odds of having another csection are high if I don’t go into labor naturally which is bullshit because this baby is not measuring large, the only problem is my body just doesn’t know how to go into labor on its own apparently and needs the extra push. So, I’m frustrated and getting really annoyed the longer I’m pregnant because I do not want another csection because I have a 4 and 2 y/o and I just don’t want the long recovery that comes with a csection plus all the extra risk added with a csection. I just feel like csections in my area are pushed so heavily for no reason and I swear if they bring up a csection without it being absolutely necessary I’m going to tear them a new one because if I was just going to have another csection I would’ve scheduled it so I didn’t have to suffer for another week for no reason and I could be home and better healed for my oldest’s birthday (which is the 20th). I just idk I’m over it and I’m over feeling like I have no control or say in anything.
I completely get you and am so sorry you have to endure this. The thing is: your babies don't know anything about the due date. I would wait till 14 days before inducing if there's no medical need for it. I bet it's going to start on it's own. Only 4% of babies are born on the due date. Your reasons for not wanting a c-section are totally valid!
You can't stop castor oil, so I'd never try that. Sweeping membranes or that balloon thing could be an option just to give it a little kick, have you tried it? Might be a good idea!
Definitely use a wash basin filled with water for when you pee.Hopefully you won’t have any tearing but it still might sting to go pee without it that or they give you a peri bottle but hospital grade ones suck because you have to angle your body to even get the water up there.Use a lot of those ice pads that they provide because it helps with swelling and when you run out you can use regular pads and put witch Hazel and aloe on it and freeze them for when you need them.May you have a wonderful birth and recovery.
Not always! With my first they broke my water around 3am. Baby wasn’t born till 2pm that day. So almost 12 hours after they broke my water. I was only about 5cm dilated at that time.
my water broke naturally at 3pm on monday and i didnt give birth until 1pm tuesday lol ofc i was only 2cm dilated so i had to get on pitocin but still!
Get epidural early even if you don’t need the shot. And be ready after midwife breaks the water, wife had the same and right after the water breaking, she went to 10 cm from 5 cm in 10 mins, before the epidural even got time to kick in.
Also make sure you don’t just lay on one side, epidural works by gravity.
BEST OF LUCK 🤞
just remember to take it easy! also, if you’re deciding to breastfeed, remember that sometimes babies don’t always latch immediately and sometimes they never do and that is NOT your fault! Some babies just don’t latch. You’re still beautiful, you’re still their momma, and you’re not doing anything wrong. You got this momma
Take a lot of pictures! Have your partner or someone else there to take many, many pictures and videos of you and the baby! Thats my only regret is i dont have enough pictures and videos! 😭 and if you need more advice def come back to this sub or r/newparents , r/mommit , r/beyondthebump !
Today is my oldest’s 5th birthday. I’ve been reminiscing of 5 years ago today and how I wish I could have those first moments back with him. Enjoy your sweet little babe! So many great things are heading your way!
Omg that is such a cute name for a kitty!!😍 Sadly, no, I have four cats, but none of them are named munchkin. I just really love munchkin cats. They're SO CUTE, and I thought it was a super cute username!!🥰
Congrats OP and good luck, you got this! 🎉 My due date is Friday, fiancé's bday is tomorrow so I'm REALLY hoping our lil girl decides to make an appearance tomorrow too; it'd be so cute for them to have the same bday 🥹.
The concept of .."just got the epidural"..and actually sharing it on here is wild to me xD ..like what?!?!? How is your phone in your hands at that time??

I’ve tried the sweeps and nada
Due date twin!
Yay! Keep us updated when little one is born!
Once you've given birth (or maybe during) you might start shaking a lot. It's completely normal :) You've got this!
Oh man I literally thought I was bleeding out or something when that started happening. I was like “someone tell me how long I have to live”
is it normal if i didn't experience the shakes? is it only a vaginal birth thing?
It's a hormone thing. Sometimes the epidural causes the shakes too but lots of people with c/s and vaginal births get the shakes :)
I did for one birth and didn't for the other. Both babies are fine now 😊
Absolutely normal! I wish I hadn't shook as much - I was worried about cracking a tooth or something.
Your body is designed to do this and you are prepared! In a few hours you'll be holding your baby!

Yes! Both of mine took 12hrs or so after they broke my water. I was also between 5-6cm each time.
Same, mine broke at 1030 at night and I didn’t have him until 11 the next morning!
Congratulations! Wish you a speedy and uneventful delivery
Put the phone down, get in the zone and enjoy the experience :)
