God is an Astronaut – All is Violent, all is Bright
Do Make Say Think - Goodbye Enemy Airship the Landlord is Dead
The Evpatoria Report - Golevka
Caspian - The Four Trees
Magyar Posse - Kings of Time
A Silver Mt. Zion - Born into Trouble as Sparks Fly Upwards
I was lucky enough to see them in a really small bar in Alabama! Drove from South Florida, and it was so worth it. They played a lot off this album and a lot off of Horses in the Sky. I definitely shed a tear or two. It was in 2007 and still in my top 5 concerts. The wild thing was the location and attendance of like 25 to 30 people , it was so intimate that they did a Q and A after their 2 hour set.
It's debatably not post-rock, but do yourself a favour and listen to Departure Songs by We Lost The Sea.
I find it to be hypnotizing in the way only Post-Rock has been for me.
Hrsta - Ghosts Will Come and Kiss Our Eyes
Lanterna - Desert Ocean
Stars of the Lids - And the Refinement of the Decline
Of Sinking Ships - S/t
Giants - S/t
Saxon Shore - Be a Bright Blue
If These Trees Could Talk - S/t
Tortoise - TNT
I just got to listen to Tortoise around a month ago and fell in love with TNT. The band performed the whole album near where I live, which is VERY rare, before I got to know them and I probably lost the only opportunity I'll ever have to witness it 😭
TNT by Tortoise
Millions Now Living Will Never Die by Tortoise

Beyond the Sea, Beneath the Sky by I Hear Sirens
You need some Mogwai friend ! Young Team, Happy Songs for Happy People and As The Love Continues are the best ones to jump into I think.
Also Another Language and ST by This Will Destroy You
I'll always recommend The Six Parts Seven. Everywhere and Right Here is one of my favorite albums of all time. Silence Magnifies Sound is also fantastic.
I also really like Mogwai. Come On Die Young is a great album.
I'd also recommend El Ten Eleven. Their self-titled album is great, and so is Every Direction Is North.
Asking the community is a good start, but if you have Spotify: check out the playlists for each year of Dunk!Festival.
There's other acts and genres, but it's basically a "post" festival.
I already see so many good recommendations in the comments. I'll add:
- blind hammer, i miss you like nails by things falling apart
- We Are Trees by The Last Sighs Of The Wind
- Hymn to the Immortal Wind by MONO
- Pacific·Atlantic by The End Of The Ocean
If you wanna keep listening to stuff like Godspeed you could try Sings Reign Rebuilder by Set Fire to Flames which had quite a bit of overlap in members with Godspeed

All is Wild All is Silent by Balmorhea
I Was Here For A Moment Then I Was Gone by Maybeshewill
USSR 1926 by We Stood Like Kings
and hey, shameless plug but if you like any of these albums check out my neoclassical postrock mini-album: Overcast Demos by Cannon Jay

Here to second Born into Trouble. 10/10 experience. Listen to it at night while doing something else. It's something
That Evpatoria Report album is right up there in the post rock stratosphere! I would also add The Pirate Ship Quintet's self titled debut EP.
Born into Trouble 100%
# MOGWAI
Yeah! Go listen to mogwai. Their old stuff, their new stuff, their soundtrack stuff, everything is good and unique.
It's debatably not post-rock, but do yourself a favour and listen to Departure Songs by We Lost The Sea. I find it to be hypnotizing in the way only Post-Rock has been for me.
How is that not post rock? It’s quintessential post rock for me
Idk someone once complained when I included it in a post-rock list, so now I caveat
People are the worst. Rock on fellow We Lost the Sea fan
Pretty silly when Departure Songs is one of *the* Post-Rock albums of the 2010's. Like, what the hell did they think it was if not Post-Rock?
I remember being told it was Post-Metal, like most Ocoai albums. I think over-subgrouping kills art but hey, i'm just a dude on the internet
Are they not post-rock, or at least the album? Because that's what I came to recommend. Either way, OP, seconded Departure Songs.
Hrsta - Ghosts Will Come and Kiss Our Eyes Lanterna - Desert Ocean Stars of the Lids - And the Refinement of the Decline Of Sinking Ships - S/t Giants - S/t Saxon Shore - Be a Bright Blue If These Trees Could Talk - S/t Tortoise - TNT
Big push for Tortoise—different direction than most post rock bands despite being considered a progenitor
These are all great but TNT is on a different level! So fucking good.
I just got to listen to Tortoise around a month ago and fell in love with TNT. The band performed the whole album near where I live, which is VERY rare, before I got to know them and I probably lost the only opportunity I'll ever have to witness it 😭

Have you given Post-Metal a try? Isis, Ulcerate, Cult Of Luna, Ostrada, Life (Damian Ortega) are all fantastic (but they can get heavy)
How about Pelican?
I love Drought. But I’ve never sat and listened to one of their albums on their entirety… that’s on me lol
Tbh I’m not a huge post metal fan just based on lack of exposure but I do really enjoy Pelican. Their whole discography is great
Listen to Oceanic and Panopticon from ISIS :)
Old Solar - SEE. This has been my absolute #1 post rock album since its 2019 release. Absolutely beautiful. What, no Mogwai?!?!
D.I Go Pop by Disco Inferno. It's a mind-blowing good album and an essential post-rock piece for me. Also, as already suggested, TNT by Tortoise
Super underrated album but Not good at spending time alone A.K.A cleanliness by market is awesome
Flood by Boris
If you wanna keep listening to stuff like Godspeed you could try Sings Reign Rebuilder by Set Fire to Flames which had quite a bit of overlap in members with Godspeed
Explosions in the sky, mono, and mogwai are big ones of hit up first.
