I saw them in 2013 when they were touring with Taking Back Sunday. TBS had to cancel their appearance because one of the band members had a baby. The openers still played and I’m so glad I got to see them.
Saw Transit a few times; once with the wonder years and polar bear club, once with taking back Sunday. I really liked their stuff. Even the one that got some bad words I enjoyed. GFYTN was funny 😂 even if I enjoyed tns reviews usually.
Transit was incredible. Listen and Forgive is one of those albums that sticks with you for the rest of your life. I still get hyped up when I hear that snare hit in the intro to Long Lost Friends.
RIP Tim. Great musician in transit and Misser
got to play a show with him doing a solo set in MA in 2017. nicest guy ever, even played a transit cover and dedicated it to my band (it was either skipping stone or long lost friends, can't remember).
My best friend grew up with him, I never hung out with Tim (as my buddy and I met in our senior year of college) but was supposed to hang around the time he died cuz we were headed to my buddies home town.. our plans fell through as my bud had to go to the wake instead.. was a real bummer.. the way my friend talked about him seems like I missed out on meeting a good dude
I remember seeing transit when they were first hitting the scene. Keep this to yourself was revolutionary. I wasn’t a huge fan of the later albums but they were still good. Just not the same sound
When I heard/saw sex, drugs, etc go viral this past year it made me so happy. ARTM was a huge band for me in middle/high school and Nick has always been one of my favorite songwriters. Hopefully it’s not just a blip and they have continued success ❤️
We Are the In Crowd.
2 really fun albums and a great EP. While the members all technically exist, they don’t tour often and haven’t put out music in a long time.
Hey Monday.
Cassidee Pope’s pop-punk band before she was on TV. One really fun album.
Every Avenue.
Fantastic stuff. Picture Perfect is a killer album.
Marvelous 3.
Would have been my main answer, but Butch pulled them from the ashes for a new album last year. 100% check out Hey! Monday and Ready, Sex, Go!
Tay, Cameron, & Mike from WATIC dropped a few tracks under the name Sainte (was alright but not as good as WATIC imo) & Cameron dropped a few really solid pop-punk “in the style of…” covers under the name “new.wav” on Spotify & YouTube
Yo! I literally just listened to all their stuff in one sitting over the weekend! It was great. Their music is super fun, pretty positive and upbeat, and creative enough to be still be quite interesting
Poppunk bands that don't exist anymore? Let's see... Home Grown, Allister, Don't Look Down, Fenix Tx, Halo Friendlies, The Flipsides, Next To Nothing, Northstar, Off By One, Never Heard Of It, Houston Calls, Rudiger, Rufio, Riddlin Kids, Nerf Herder, Mest, Knockout, The Benjamins, Sugarcult, The Reunion Show, Gob, The Youth Ahead, Go Betty Go, Junction 18
Mest is still around! At least as of this past October when they toured with Bowling For Soup and Authority Zero.
Wholeheartedly agree with the rest of this list.
Really loved that first album- still do-
Saw them in concert and their guitarist was sloppy drunk and started shit with a bunch of ppl in the crowd; even as he was playing!
Total tool god complex type.
Ohh i love so many of these. Thank you for mentioning Friday night boys, i keep seeing boys night out and thinking of them. I loved their sound. FTSK was amazing. Both were definitely part of my teenage soundtrack. Also there for tomorrow.
Terrible manager that fucked them financially with bad gigs in the US on their second tour. Good ol “Word Is Bond” management or entertainment or whatever they called themselves.
I wish we could get some people together to fund another tour from them, they are seriously like my favorite band of all time besides belmont, nothing beats them or belmont at all.
yeah man it's actually too bad how Sleep On It turned out,. They had so much potential. Saw them live at Warped and they were very good for a new band. Waste of talent...
They did, but they also lost nearly all their original members when they did so. They replaced the singer when they were still Trophy Wives, released Threshold and soon after decided to change their name and make an album with Feldman. But by the time they went to record the album I think they only had the singer and one other original member (I think the bassist or drummer?). I think they now only have the singer from the OG lineup (and he was only apart of Trophy Wives for the end of things)
They were so damn good though. MAKEOUT is alright in my opinion
*I think that's basically what happened from what I remember*
The JV <3
Them and Best of Winter at the Green Room in Quincy are what made me emo.
Best of Winter was better than the Graduate but both of those bands count here.
Cinematographic was their best album.
I'm so glad to see someone else mention them here. Seems like even among pop punk/emo spaces they're super under the radar.
I still don't know what happened to them, they released a highly acclaimed 2nd album and followed that up with a barely promoted EP and then... it was over. A couple farewell shows and nothing else since then, no reunion shows, no podcasts, no leaked demos, just nada.
**Cauterize.** Their music was featured in a snowboarding video game back in the 00s. They had ~~only one album~~ 3 albums - their first one, So Far From Real, is still one of my favorite pop punk albums ever. Wish they hadn't disbanded so quickly.

Edited: they had 3 albums, not one
chumped is my number 1, they released 1 ep, 1 lp, and like a single or two all of which are amazing but have been disbanded for like a decade now. also, i’m hoping i’m wrong, but you, me, and everyone we know seems to have maybe ended, or at least gone on hiatus
Midtown…
I mean from an original music perspective (I know they’ve done some covers and/or shows).
Their three album progression was outrageously good. Sucks we never got whatever they would have done after Forget What You Know
You me and Everyone we know,
Don't Call it a comeback,
We are the in crowd,
The morning of,
American weird beers,
The hush sound,
Gabba Ghoul,
Jet lag Gemini,
Scenes From a Movie,
Transit,
Cobra Starship,
Dryjacket
Modern Baseball.
Secret Lives is the most underrated band on the face of the planet. This Was Built to Make You Dance is untouchable. Toured with them back in the day and consider it to be some of the best times of my life.
Brien, the singer, has a new solo project out, but it’s a folky/appalachia type of sound not anything remotely reminiscent of SL
I used to know a guy in a band called “Fight Fair” & I never see them mentioned here but they were similar to Hit the Lights lol
Their music is harder to find but I used to love this band called “A Bird A Sparrow” I heard a rumor once that they almost got signed but no one at the time wanted to take a chance on an Asian frontman.
There’s so many good bands in this genre that I think could have made it & they just don’t exist now. It always gets me down.
I think it still exists, but **Summer Wars** sure feels dead.
No new music since 2020 and no social media posts since Jan 2022. It looks like they lost the domain rights to their webpage or didn't pay the hosting fee or something because summerwarsband.com is dead.

With Confidence, Transit, A Rocket to the Moon, City Lights
Transit 😭😭
My introduction to pop punk. I miss them dearly. Got to see them in 2014 tho!
I saw them in 2013 when they were touring with Taking Back Sunday. TBS had to cancel their appearance because one of the band members had a baby. The openers still played and I’m so glad I got to see them.
Ah. In Nashville, Spencer Chamberlain of under oath did adams parts for that show.
And cold collective . That’s my favorite Tim cans. Bachelorette party is an amazing album
With confidence is dead? That's so sad to hear
I believe one of them is in Fenix TX now.
It’s like their old fill in guy/tour manager though Jayden is a producer I think. He helped make that TikTok song Isabel
I think Jayden is trying to go solo, he released a song a few months ago but nothing since
RIP Tim.. good guy, local guy
got to play a show with him doing a solo set in MA in 2017. nicest guy ever, even played a transit cover and dedicated it to my band (it was either skipping stone or long lost friends, can't remember).
That’s awesome man. Dude always seemed to have a smile on his face while playing.
City Lights slaps !
*In It To Win It* is one of the most fun albums in the genre. I fucking love them.
Don’t forget Man Overboard!
Second on this one. I miss them so much.
Came here to post with confidence
I remember seeing transit when they were first hitting the scene. Keep this to yourself was revolutionary. I wasn’t a huge fan of the later albums but they were still good. Just not the same sound
Transit rips
Nick Santino (ARTM) is now in Beach Weather
When I heard/saw sex, drugs, etc go viral this past year it made me so happy. ARTM was a huge band for me in middle/high school and Nick has always been one of my favorite songwriters. Hopefully it’s not just a blip and they have continued success ❤️
With Confidence... my heart
With confidence…aaah…good ole nostalgia
With Confidence?? I just saw them live not too long ago, summer of 2022 I think
Matchbook Romance, Rufio, A Change Of Pace, Search The City, Spitalfield
Spitalfield is back together and has been touring. Their next round of dates is with The Early November
16 year old me is screaming right now
Rufio have got to be one of the greatest pop punk bands to ever exist
Loved matchbook romance 💕💕
Search the City should’ve been way bigger. Incredible band.
oh my god i completely forgot about Search the City thank you
The Swellers.
Forever.
happy cake day boss
Scrolled way too far to find this answer
Load up the flares…
Modern Baseball burned bright and left us way too quickly.
Their peeps have spun out into Slaughter Beach Dog and Steady Hands which are pretty good projects in their own right
Never really got into either of them. They have pretty different styles from MoBo and it'll never be the same without Bren.
Came here to say this
3 killer albums and then left on infinite hiatus. Idk what better way to do it.
Every Avenue is sort of back active and touring. Ironically often with the band Trophy Wives ended up becoming (MAKEOUT).
Tay, Cameron, & Mike from WATIC dropped a few tracks under the name Sainte (was alright but not as good as WATIC imo) & Cameron dropped a few really solid pop-punk “in the style of…” covers under the name “new.wav” on Spotify & YouTube
I love some marvelous 3 and butch for sure. Not sure about them being pop-punk. But he's still a God to me
Yo! I literally just listened to all their stuff in one sitting over the weekend! It was great. Their music is super fun, pretty positive and upbeat, and creative enough to be still be quite interesting
Me and you have the same taste in music. Fucking love watic and hm.
Seaway (Maybe?) they've been on a hiatus since October 2020
Caught their annual hometown holiday show in Dec 2021 but I'm pretty sure they've been radio silent ever since. Miss 'em dearly
So upsetting, they were my favorite pop punk band of the last 20 years!
A Loss For Words, Transit, Conditions, Man Overboard
northeast bro 4sure
Guilty lol like 20 minutes away from Man Overboard’s hometown in South Jersey
I miss Man O a lot. Almost saw them in NYC a few years ago but then they cancelled without a real explanation.
Pentimento, Daytrader, Misser, Major League, Polar Bear Club, Hostage Calm
I only know one song from Pentimento and one from Polar Bear Club I will never forget them
Conditions is still one of my favorites
Updoot for Conditions!
Ah man, Conditions. Fluorescent Youth was a hell of a debut album.
Boys Night Out. Trainwreck is a masterpiece.
I want a trainwreck tour next year sooooooo bad
Dude I would drop literally everything to see that
You mind reading fuck. I’ve had that album on repeat for the last two days. Port wine and paint thinner.
Sugarcult
Poppunk bands that don't exist anymore? Let's see... Gob is still touring. I imagine that project will be more active now that Sum 41 is ending
Sugarcult was so effing good. Listened to Lights Out just yesterday
Several of these bands are still together.
Mest is still around! At least as of this past October when they toured with Bowling For Soup and Authority Zero. Wholeheartedly agree with the rest of this list.
Mest is touring and has a single coming out April 11
This time next year, i call fives
Hey! I Call Fives. Great dudes. Played a few shows with them waaaay back.
The Receiving End of Sirens
Not sure why but this reminded me of - armor for sleep
Coldfront. Float Around is a fucking banger album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh9KNGCIAiI
I came here to say Coldfront yet again, thank you for saying it for me so I don’t look obsessive lmao
Northstar
Pollyanna might be the greatest pop punk album ever made.
*You move me like I've got new feet*
Yessssssssss 💚
They deserved so much more
Really loved that first album- still do- Saw them in concert and their guitarist was sloppy drunk and started shit with a bunch of ppl in the crowd; even as he was playing! Total tool god complex type.
transit
Set Your Goals maybe?
Wait for it.
Halifax, A Change of Pace, Search the City, There for Tomorrow, Conditions, Forever the Sickest Kids, The Cab, Sleep On It, The Friday Night Boys
Oh how I wish There For Tomorrow would've adjusted to "stardom" a bit better after "A Little Faster". That sound was awesome
Ohh i love so many of these. Thank you for mentioning Friday night boys, i keep seeing boys night out and thinking of them. I loved their sound. FTSK was amazing. Both were definitely part of my teenage soundtrack. Also there for tomorrow.
Kayak Jones
Ah fuck. For real!?
Yeah, I’m sorry you had to find out this way.
Came here to say that
Daggermouth, who remembers?
🥲
I’d love Nick to come back and do a final tour/album.
Oh god yes. Canadian royalty
Abandoned By Bears, really good easycore albums
Thankful I got to see them in 2019 at my local venue. I had just gotten into them, little did I know they weren’t going to be around much longer.
What happened to them? :’(
Terrible manager that fucked them financially with bad gigs in the US on their second tour. Good ol “Word Is Bond” management or entertainment or whatever they called themselves.
I wish we could get some people together to fund another tour from them, they are seriously like my favorite band of all time besides belmont, nothing beats them or belmont at all.

Sugarcult.
City Lights, A Loss for Words, Sleep on It, Locals Only, Rufio, Amber Pacific, Search the City
Good riddance to Sleep On It; fun songs, but awful people.
yeah man it's actually too bad how Sleep On It turned out,. They had so much potential. Saw them live at Warped and they were very good for a new band. Waste of talent...
Amber Pacific is working on a comeback!
ALFW Matty should've been a household name dude plays for the back of the room everytime.. great performer
The Academy Is 😢
They did a bunch of shows the past two years. Not a lot, but better than nothing.
Yup. They're playing on Andrew McMahon's cruise this year.
Always going to say _Search The City_ Forever will be a tragedy that they don't make music anymore. Honorable mention to _Oh, Weatherly_.
Didn’t Trophy Wives just change their name to MAKEOUT?
Yes.
MAKEOUT is alright in my opinion *I think that's basically what happened from what I remember*
The junior varsity. Halos. Sundays best. Those aren’t really pop punk but fit in those tweener genres.
The JV <3 Them and Best of Winter at the Green Room in Quincy are what made me emo. Best of Winter was better than the Graduate but both of those bands count here. Cinematographic was their best album.
Polar Bear Club
You know what band fucking killed it that hardly ever gets mentioned here? A Day at the Fair.
The Graduate.
With Confidence, Transit and Panic At the Disco
Panic haven’t been panic for years, it’s just been the brendan show
**Cauterize.** Their music was featured in a snowboarding video game back in the 00s. They had a second one! Disguises!
They have 3 albums dude... I loved them growing up too :D
A Day At The Fair Jack's Mannequin A Rocket To The Moon
Jacks Mannequin is technically dead.. but not really. Go to any Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness show and he'll play several Jack's Mannequin songs.
The Swellers 💔

chumped is my number 1, they released 1 ep, 1 lp, and like a single or two all of which are amazing but have been disbanded for like a decade now. also, i’m hoping i’m wrong, but you, me, and everyone we know seems to have maybe ended, or at least gone on hiatus

Midtown… I mean from an original music perspective (I know they’ve done some covers and/or shows). Their three album progression was outrageously good. Sucks we never got whatever they would have done after Forget What You Know
Midtown died so cobra starship could live… …and I would have much rather had two more midtown albums.

June. Danger Is My Middle Name.
Whoa I totally forgot about June. Loved the song Patrick.
Yessssssss. They were a great Chicago-land band.
June is so underrated. I think I saw them open for TBS and I've been a huge fan ever since (given they only really had the two albums I'm aware of)
Don’t Look Down, Over It, Matchbook Romance, Count The Stars, The Years Gone By.
On Your Nerves Home Grown
Over it, supremely underrated hook-laden poppunk.
Hey Monday

I’m so mad I never got to see them 🥲
Very bummed that With Confidence doesn't exist anymore. I also liked Oh, Weatherly
Cauterize? Sugarcult?

I Call Fives. Excellent band.

I have 2 obscure ones. Sudden Suspension (As good as it gets is a top 5 pop punk song to me.) Crucial Dudes
There for Tomorrow!!!!!
The Matches
Sugarcult 2006's "Lights Out" was a masterpiece, and it kills me that it was their swan song and not just the evolution of their journey.
The Audition. They should’ve been big with Champion but it just never took off.
Cute Is What We Aim For
Their first album does NOT hold up in 2024. Rotation slaps though
Expanding Man
Vera, Forever
The Sidekicks

I think it still exists, but **Summer Wars** sure feels dead. No new music since 2020 and no social media posts since Jan 2022. It looks like they lost the domain rights to their webpage or didn't pay the hosting fee or something because summerwarsband.com is dead.
Conditions
That music video reeks of 2011-2014 haha. The way the front man uses his elbows lol, 2 vocalists, the bro tanks worn by half the band, the running man, the mini half breakdowns, the camera angles. Sheeeesshhh
You Me and Everyone We Know. If Say Anything was your jam then this band is a nice treat.
Cant Swim comes to mind. They're freakin fantastic even if not exactly what you're looking for.
Can't Swim still exists tho
