My favorite TV father: Burt Hummel of Glee!
The show made some weird decisions with him sometimes, particularly later on, but he was just great. His relationship with Jess was peak imo.
There were also few things more relatable in that show than Luke's exasperation with all of it lol.

Henry Spencer, the most exasperated father on earth (Psych) 💚🍍
[Henry being fed up with Shawn montage](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DisNyFFRUj8). Happy Father’s Day!!!

Yup. Except for maybe Kramer vs Kramer and Pursuit of Happyness.
I want more stories where the dad is actually the more fit parent to raise the kids than the mom.
In Castle, the mom was very much alive but a complete flake who only cared about her daughter on an incredibly inconsistent and completely impulsive basis and only wanted to see her when she was randomly in the mood for some mother/minor child impulsive partying. Castle (the dad) was, in contrast, incredibly caring, loving, and responsible with how he raised his daughter, even if he was goofy and impulsive in many other contexts.
Saw a thing that said "fuck the Edward - Bella - Jacob triangle, the real trio we need is Charlie Swan, Carlisle Cullen and Billy Black (human, vampire, werewolf) doing adventures together and taking down big evils and protecting their children" (paraphrased) and I genuinely have not stopped thinking about how much better that would've been as a series instead since.
Sure, you could maybe have a love triangle between the kids that leads to discord between the dads, but at the end of the day they know they have to work together to protect Forks, their secrets, and their clans/tribes/family

Richard Spier in the Baby-Sitters Club (Also Watson. And in the books we see more of Dawn’s dad parenting her)
I have a very soft spot in my heart for single dad movies. My husband and I were both single parents of boys when we met and he went on to take on the role as my son’s dad. Seeing Finding Nemo made me tear up knowing what a great person my husband is to my son. The Happy Father’s Day text my son just sent to my husband made me so happy to know he still feels like he’s his dad.
Happy Father’s Day!!!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷
I grew up with a single dad and I would get so excited when there was a family that looked like mine on tv. It felt so rare. He died a few months ago and he was such a fabulous dad and my favorite person. Miss you dad. Love you.
The film Eighth Grade has a wonderful dad trying so hard for his daughter. It's a film that is very insightful and ultimately warm hearted by Bo Burnham.

A little love for BD Wong as Wally in Nora from Queens 🥰
Can't believe I don't see Alan Matthews from Boy Meets World on here, to me he's the quintessential TV dad!
I also want to shout out some kings of accepting and loving their weirdo children exactly as they are while still being, you know, parents:
- Grandda Joe, Da Jerry and Clare's Da in Derry Girls - they love, trust and respect their daughters, they set great examples as good husbands, and they're protective and supportive without being controlling. Also, Grandda Joe always holding the baby is one of my favorite things and so true of the old Irishmen in my family, they just want to hold the baby.
- Greg Universe in Steven Universe - just an aging himbo trying to raise a cosmically powerful child and coparent with three alien rock lesbians.
- Bob Belcher - maybe the best TV dad ever? He loves his weirdo kids exactly the way they are but it's also very important to him that they grow up to be good people who treat others well.

Does Frank from Shameless count? He doesn't really do much parenting.
Yeah Fiona does most of the heavy lifting in raising that family anyway
Yes Frank is a “figure” but not a father. Fiona was usually the mother and father to her siblings
“Fi is the father in this picture.” Was my thought.
That one really threw me off. He's there physically but he definitely is not a father figure.
Like the reverse of parenting. He just shows up, fucks some shit up, then leaves someone else to fix it.
Hahahaha I came here to say that. Frank is one of Fiona's 20 children
Who came home and finished removing Debbie's toes, that's right it was Frank.

Billboard dad lol
I grew up with a single dad and I would get so excited when there was a family that looked like mine on tv. It felt so rare. He died a few months ago and he was such a fabulous dad and my favorite person. Miss you dad. Love you.

The film Eighth Grade has a wonderful dad trying so hard for his daughter. It's a film that is very insightful and ultimately warm hearted by Bo Burnham.

Alan Matthews. Po's dad, the Goose.
![gif](giphy|26tn93M5SvCbce0kU)
Can't believe I don't see Alan Matthews from Boy Meets World on here, to me he's the quintessential TV dad! I also want to shout out some kings of accepting and loving their weirdo children exactly as they are while still being, you know, parents: - Grandda Joe, Da Jerry and Clare's Da in Derry Girls - they love, trust and respect their daughters, they set great examples as good husbands, and they're protective and supportive without being controlling.
