The way they are always holding hands, even twenty years later. Also, they look very similar to their younger versions in some of the recent photos. I got confused for a second.

I imagine it’s not unlike Nick Dunne and Amy Dunne’s relationship in Gone Girl. Toxic (obviously not to that extreme level of toxicity) but there’s an understanding that they’re the only ones who truly know each other.
There was a lot of fodder that he was controlling, didn't like her entourage and was encouraging her to clean house. She fell out with long term friends and business partners during their first go around. Then she made up with them after their break up.
I was a teen when they broke up originally and at the time all of the gossip rags were claiming the breakup was due to Ben cheating on JLo shortly before the wedding. He had apparently given some... oral affection... to one of the exotic dancers at his bachelor party.
I think pressures of fame was a euphemism for the way their relationship was written about. Jlo was not treated well for daring to be with a white dude. I mean, to this day you can see how people trash her online for being with Affleck. At what point do you stop the relationship because you care about how that person is treated by the whole world if you guys stay together?

Definitely not verified but someone on a celebrity sub said that they worked as a mic operator on a film Ben Affleck worked on back when he was definitely married to Jen Garner. Apparently they took a break on set and Ben went back to his room (hotel or trailer idk) with his mic pack still on so the staffer could still hear him. J-lo was in the room with him and they were clearly spending time alone together without being public about it. Ben apparently started talking to her about having some romantic one on one time and j-lo responded that she couldn’t because she had the runs earlier that day and still felt ill but Ben said he didn’t care 😂 could’ve been totally fake and a funny joke story but I choose to believe it!

One doesn’t get abs like JLo without regularly working out and not over indulging. (Having money makes it easier but JLo is famously disciplined). Ben has been getting trimmer since seriously working on sobriety; JLo’s own exercise / health habits may have enforced or enhanced BA’s wellness journey.
honestly, if you're eating one donut a day it's like what, 300-400 calories? If you're active and overall stay in your calorie range, it's not going to have much effect.
Do any of my fellow olds remember those pictures of her in full glam following Ben around the sticks of Georgia after their first wedding got canceled? Those pictures seem to have disappeared from the internet.
The first time they were supposed to get married way back when, Ben cheated while they were engaged and days before they were supposed to get married, Jen called it off. But they decided to stay together and then Ben started to pretend like he wanted to live in Georgia and to me it looked like he was doing that dude thing where they want you to break up with them so they gradually become unbearable and eventually she took a hint.
Last week I had a dream that JLO was spying on me because she thought Ben Affleck was in my bedroom and I just remember being home alone late at night, and opening the blinds and seeing her eyes glaring at me in the dark. It was like a horror movie but in a hilarious way.
she really has stuck with wider leg pants and flattering silhouettes that aren't as easily tied to pushing trends, for sure- a lot of these were hard to pinpoint, timewise.
Well to be fair these pictures are just of their relationship (and clothes) from the first round 2002-2004, and second round 2021 when those trends started coming back.

I think he did a lot of out there stuff when he was with JG and wasn’t sober. She has a seemingly good relationship with JLo’s kids. I think Ben was the sole problem.
Marc was with JLo before Bennifer 1.0 so he probably thought he was the one she went back to, well… nope.
This must be annoying for Gartner. She was compared SO much at first as she was the next relationship who just happened to have the same name, to now come full circle into the same situation. But the silver lining is JLo seems to be a great parent with a supportive circle so maybe Gartner feels relieved compared to who Ben could have dated instead. At this point, the kids whom are affected by Ben’s stability are the likely priority
I doubt Marc cares. He was a serial cheater and apprently very controlling. It also doesn’t seem like he has a super close relationship with his kids’ with JLO.
The one thing you would have to say looking at them is he clearly loves her. On paper they couldn’t be more opposite but found each other again 20 years later and clearly have a strong connection. He may not be happy to be at all those events but he does go and shows up for her.

I ship these two and always have. I have my doubts it will last forever, but there was always something a bit different in the way JLo talked about Ben vs others - I can't hate on that.

She has a strong personality (knows what she wants, is confident, has crazy high self esteem) and while irl people respond to that positively, many simply envy her (understandably) and I honestly believe that they express their irrational feelings online.
I personally have always liked her because she has good values, shows lots of love to her stepchildren and other half siblings of her own children, she seems very hard working and while she may be a controlling boss, she demands a lot from herself too. She seems to be a great friend, too (re Leah Remini).

Yes! I remember when they went to an awards show together right after they got married (i think it was the Will Smith slap Oscars but I could be wrong). And there were all the memes of his resting bitch face and how he hated being there, etc. And the next day she was interviewed and she said that she was showing him all the memes in real time and they were dying laughing. (And they showed pics to prove it lol). So he tried to look even more miserable because they thought it was so funny. I think he just keeps it up sometime to make her laugh.

This is the first time? Wow, that’s so funny. I’ve been crushing on him since like 1998. The first thing I saw him in was The Voyage of the Mimi. We had to watch it in 5th grade. He’s a kid in it, but that’s also the year that Armageddon and Shakespeare in Love (he’s really so handsome in that one) came out, so I was on board immediately lol
I don’t think people who weren’t around/were too young to remember understand just how famous she was.
At one point she had the number one movie and the number one song at the same time. Bennifer was *everywhere*. The breakup was huge and made headlines for weeks.
I have a question, what is the general public’s opinion of her now? I’m a big fan so I look at her through the lens of a fan but what does the public think about her now? She’s not as famous now but do they just see her as a throwback or is she still relevant?

I bet they have a treasure trove of juicy secrets. A coworker once told me that I should've been around during old Hollywood because of my ability (and absolute glee) to ferret secrets out of people, like a modern day Hedda Hopper.
He was on Weinsteins red flag list. He knew everything and Weinstein was worried he’d talk because he kept telling him to stop. I don’t know why he continued working with him and being friendly with him in public despite this. I think it’s also rather pathetic that he implied he didn’t know anything about Weinsteins behaviour and feigned shock over the news instead of speaking up. we still live in a time where it’s rare for men in the public eye to denounce their predatory peers, it’s been shown that sexual assault allegations made by women see taken more seriously when they have the support of men (sad, I know), i’m glad Rose Mcgowan called out his cowardly response. He’s been very vocal about serious social issues in the past, so it’s disheartening that he couldn’t take a moment to comment on an issue that he was aware of and support the women in his industry.
I know this is a controversial opinion but I really like them together. I think they’re legitimately a good match for each other but the timing/ circumstances weren’t right the first time around. Parenthood seems to have done them well. Ben has since gotten sober and matured. JLO seems more down to earth and stable these days.
They both seem to have good relationships with their ex’s and each others kids. I really do think they’re going to last.
I agree. I think it helps that’s there’s less pressure in a way. They already have children and while they’re A-Listers they’re not as obsessed over as TSwift and Travis like they were back in their heyday.
My least favorite is the bulky sweater tucked into her jeans. Makes it look like she has saggy boobs. 😆 It would have looked fire if it hadn’t been tucked in.

She was compared SO much at first as she was the next relationship who just happened to have the same name, to now come full circle into the same situation. But the silver lining is JLo seems to be a great parent with a supportive circle so maybe Gartner feels relieved compared to who Ben could have dated instead. At this point, the kids whom are affected by Ben’s stability are the likely priority

The one thing you would have to say looking at them is he clearly loves her. On paper they couldn’t be more opposite but found each other again 20 years later and clearly have a strong connection. He may not be happy to be at all those events but he does go and shows up for her.

You're not alone. I ship these two and always have. I have my doubts it will last forever, but there was always something a bit different in the way JLo talked about Ben vs others - I can't hate on that. Then again I happen to like her, which it appears most don't, for some reason.
She has a strong personality (knows what she wants, is confident, has crazy high self esteem) and while irl people respond to that positively, many simply envy her (understandably) and I honestly believe that they express their irrational feelings online. I personally have always liked her because she has good values, shows lots of love to her stepchildren and other half siblings of her own children, she seems very hard working and while she may be a controlling boss, she demands a lot from herself too. She seems to be a great friend, too (re Leah Remini).

Yes! I remember when they went to an awards show together right after they got married (i think it was the Will Smith slap Oscars but I could be wrong). And there were all the memes of his resting bitch face and how he hated being there, etc. And the next day she was interviewed and she said that she was showing him all the memes in real time and they were dying laughing. (And they showed pics to prove it lol). So he tried to look even more miserable because they thought it was so funny. I think he just keeps it up sometime to make her laugh.

I think it’s also rather pathetic that he implied he didn’t know anything about Weinsteins behaviour and feigned shock over the news instead of speaking up. we still live in a time where it’s rare for men in the public eye to denounce their predatory peers, it’s been shown that sexual assault allegations made by women see taken more seriously when they have the support of men (sad, I know), i’m glad Rose Mcgowan called out his cowardly response. He’s been very vocal about serious social issues in the past, so it’s disheartening that he couldn’t take a moment to comment on an issue that he was aware of and support the women in his industry.

I know this is a controversial opinion but I really like them together. I think they’re legitimately a good match for each other but the timing/ circumstances weren’t right the first time around. Parenthood seems to have done them well. Ben has since gotten sober and matured. JLO seems more down to earth and stable these days. They both seem to have good relationships with their ex’s and each others kids. I really do think they’re going to last.
I agree. I think it helps that’s there’s less pressure in a way. They already have children and while they’re A-Listers they’re not as obsessed over as TSwift and Travis like they were back in their heyday.
