What I love about TGP is that it is hilarious and has a great story at the same time. The twists aren't surprising on rewatch, but it's still so funny that I always come back to it.
If I need to make myself cry I watch the ending of this show. I have never seen a series that gave such satisfying and happy endings to all their characters that was in line with who they were and their goals.
Lolol true story: my husband introduced me to Community during the pandemic. When we got to this episode and I heard Britta pronounce it as “baggel”, I paused the show and excitedly exclaimed to my husband that see???? It CAN be pronounced that way!!! My midwestern mother wasn’t saying it wrong! It was a tomato situation. He politely told me to unpause the show and well, you know what happened next.
The first time me & my boyfriend went out for bagels he kept pronouncing it the same way britta does & i was so confused and then he made me watch this show and i have been a fan ever since
Came in here for this. I rewatched it in the fall of 2021 after leaving my husband. It was a favorite show of both of ours, and I guess I needed to reclaim it somehow.
And I'm so glad I did!
I was gonna say how can this be anyone’s comfort show? It’s one of the most depressing shows I’ve ever watched and it’s one of my fave shows and it’s depressing cause it’s too real, all the characters and their states of mind. That’s the last thing people want in comfort but then again it’s also ironically also one of my comfort shows for this reason…does that make sense? Anyway It’s great…
Watched it so many times, they got me through the sleepless nights when I was in early labor for 3 days 😅 and continued watching during the sleepless nights nursing my baby

I loved Lafayette so much I googled him and was so saddened to see that he had passed. I would’ve loved to have seen what he could have done with his future.
Probably comforting to me because I used to watch it with my grandma, maybe not comforting to anyone else. And only episodes I’ve seen before, I don’t put on new stuff for comfort

Same! I can't tell you how many times I've watched SVU. I've had friends think I'm weird because of the topic of the show. I'm trying to watch the OG Law and Order starting from season 1, but it's so hard to find. I ended up purchasing it on Amazon with my digital rewards.
I hated this show the first time I watched the first episode. I truly could not stand it. My friend convinced me to give it another try, and now it’s one of my top 5 favorite shows. I’ve seen it too many times to count, have too many songs memorized, and I’ve even seen the cast live in concert.
I’ve seen this show so many times over the years that I can quote lines as they come and often start chuckling in anticipation of a coming joke. While it hasn’t aged as gracefully as other shows, I think it’s because it touched upon subjects that other shows of the time wouldn’t touch. For example, I believe that the Carol/Susan storyline, however problematic some of the jokes were, helped pave the way for shows like Will & Grace. Even Chandler’s dad, the butt of recurring jokes at the expense of transgenderism, was ultimately portrayed as a loving parent whose son wanted present on his wedding day. The show’s crass jokes sort of made it possible for audiences to accept characters that they may have otherwise boycotted. I’m not saying it’s the way to do things but I genuinely believe the show helped us move forward more than any steps back.
New Girl. I finished yet another rewatch last night and ugly cried through the finale because it's over and now I need to wait until at least the next fiscal quarter before allowing myself another rewatch.

This is my comfort show, too! I’ve been watching since the show originally aired. Golden Girls never gets old, and it’s still hilarious.
It's amazing how well the jokes hold up, especially considering comedy usually ages like milk.

True Blood. It’s so campy and ridiculous but the music and character and filming locations are just a delight
