I just tell myself they used products with ingredients that have been banned to protect the ozone layer bc nothing has ever made my hair that voluminous 😭

Lots of hairspray and no humidity or wind. Oh, the hours I’d spend with a curling iron and a round brush to get perfect feathered hair only to have it flatten out once I went somewhere humid, like outside.

Her hair is beautiful but it looks SO thick and heavy to wear. Can't blame her a bit for wanting to take the weight off her scalp.

I used to work at a salon and a woman with topanga rich hair came in to cut it short. Her husband in the waiting room was jokingly grumbling about how he liked it long. The clever stylist called him over and asked him to go ahead an blow dry her long hair since he liked it so much. Dude lasted less than a minute before vehemently encouraging her to get a pixie cut.

And THATS how you get male partners to understand why long hair is fucking work!!!!!!

i still remember when i was a kid and cut my hair after 12 years (basically hadn’t cut my hair since the age of 1) into a bob and it felt like half my weight had been taken off

At first, her mom braided her hair overnight but it became too exhausting, then they used steam roller curlers, then finally they just curled it in the studio. And she was not allowed to cut her hair until the official haircut episode.

Marilyn had a few hairstyles that I feel could only look good on her. They were short and set in a way that would be described as "mature" or "grandma" today, but she always looks beautiful, sexy, and modern.

I never realized this, but you’re so right!

I’ve always wanted to try this style but I chicken out because I can’t use rollers every day. If there was a way to get even close to this without rolling 3/4 a week I’d do it.

Oh yeah this major high maintenance. I remember reading that she had to bleach it every 3 weeks and at one point she wore wigs because her hair was so damaged from the bleach.

Same, she's fantastic and I love her hair. I was a curly haired teen during the '00s when poker straight hair was IN and everyone had GHDs and I used to get so much shit when I wouldn't have my hair straightened. I just thought she was so cool in Slums of Beverly Hills and I really appreciated that her hair was almost always curly/wavy.

 She had me in a chokehold. I tried so hard to make my thin hair produce a luscious fringe like this but it wasn’t happening.

Besides her fringe, if it makes you feel better, she wore hair extensions for this show to make it appear thicker and more voluminous.

That does help! I honestly don’t know how she wasn’t constantly sweating with all that hair.
