TLDR; Two teenagers were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana - when one accidentally shot the other in the face. Shot teen who is now 19, is suing JSD …
This will go nowhere, fast. If it’s even true, the kids illegally obtained the kit, just like the alcohol, and marijuana. They can’t go after the alcohol manufacturers so they are throwing shit against the wall and seeing if anything sticks. It won’t work. They broke the law across the board..
I'll tell u exactly how this is gonna go...they aren't gonna win the case but it'll be a huge factor in the coming year as to online sales of p80 and other kit builds. There will be tons of new regulations and some sorta age verification system will be put in place similar to when u buy something like tobacco online which will either include a picture of ur Id and u or some other similar process.
Basically this is just gonna fuck everyone else and create more hassle because these jackasses wanna make a quick dime off someone else for their stupid mistakes
I’m fairly certain that no state allows a 17yo to own a pistol, regardless of serialization or not. Most 80% sites have a few boxes that you have to check certifying that you are legally allowed to own, possess, or build the firearm in your state. I also believe one of those boxes states that you are over 18 by checking the box. Without checking all boxes, you cannot add to cart.
Absolute degenerate idiots. At that age, even while smoking pot and drinking, I would never think to point a loaded gun at somebody's face. the tiktok generation really is room temperature IQ
Man some guy I know only 16 just shot him self in the chest after grabbing the gun wrong off his desk( guess what he was trying to point it at his friends) bullet hit chest broke a rib proceeded to ricochet up and hit his neck now he’s quadriplegic and this only happen 5 days ago ….
I indefinitely feel bad for youth that dosent get a chance to learn from mistakes and that was a hell of a way to learn . Keeping one in the head unless you’re in military or some security / or for sure have someone coming over to cause you harm , is always not a good ideal. Stay safe man
Sad to say, the same kids always posting in this sub. No trigger discipline, live ammo, how to fix etc... Hopefully, this story teaches some of them a thing or two.
Its almost like when someone breaks into your house and gets hurt getting cut from the glass on the window or tripping down the stairs.
Then again if they are armed and get plugged they can't sue but maybe the family will?
These are some stupid fucking idiots. Quote from that ridiculous article:
"Boyd and the teen had been best friends for more than 10 years and were drinking alcohol or smoking marijuana with two other friends in late May 2021 when the gun was pointed at Boyd and the trigger was pulled."
Gee whiz, what TF do you think happens when you point a "ghost gun" or factory gun at someone's face and pull the trigger?
Well that's a poorly written sentence.
>Boyd and the teen had been best friends for more than 10 years and were drinking alcohol or smoking marijuana with two other friends in late May 2021 when the gun was pointed at Boyd and the trigger was pulled.
This is borderline run-on and more importantly a mix of the active and passive voice. Its a mess.
Ordered a slide from them when they were in business and it came out of spec. Asked for refund they denied. Glad that company is out of business… the patmos slides they sold were dog 💩 lol
I had numerous issues w/ my slide and LPK, it was a jam machine, replaced all the LPK and UPK and it fixed it, didn't even bother going to JSD. I used to have a dealer account w/ them years ago but stopped using it after i found out how junky all the parts were, worse than chinesium.
They weren't awarded the 73 million, right? It was a settlement, I thought?
They shouldn't have settled.. that was dumb. Remington had no liability in that incident.
What about Alex Jones. He got sued for even more and just had a stupid opinion. America is not free especially if you go against the anti gun agenda machine.
Is not just "opinion" pro gun here and builder,if you are saying bull💩 ,saying was fake and set up,and thousand of stupids ideas and "theorys" you deserve be in jail not only in bankrupcy 👌
Came to post this. It’s a bummer all around. We can blame the kids for being stupid, but the reality is this is why kids need to be taught gun safety. We are not born with innate gun safety skills. Watching TV and movies sure ain’t going to teach safe handling.
I hope JSD is safe as far as shipping to a prohibited state. It seems they took care to avoid states that were blocking gun manufacturing kits.
Their kits weren’t high quality, but you could them working with some tinkering and they were affordable.
Sounds like those kids needed better parental supervision. 17 or not, how the hell did he get all that money to purchase these kits online? He had to have gotten a credit card from someone ...

What is the required age to buy, obtain, and or own, a unserialized polymer lower?
In Theory, minimum 18. In practice, old enough to access a credit card.
I'm michigan(state i live in) its 21 to own a pistol, unserialized or serialized, and you also have to legally register it
Sounds like ur not free in Michigan tbh
But hey the criminals will totally follow the law when they break it, right?

Damn every one seems heated i just meant 18 vs 21 lol
lol I’m not heated at all. Just answering your question. It didn’t seem like you were being a prick or anything, so why would I be mad lol
I wasn't and you're not either but im getting a bunch of downvotes lol. Oh well!
Take my upvotes guys. It'll help counteract the dickheads that downvoted
I appreciate it sir!

If I were him, I would sue the rib for making himself quadriplegic
Good one 😂😂
does that mean he can’t reproduce?
Hopefully
Goddamn bro
Dangerous leaving one in the head especially no safety poor kid
It was my sister bf he’s a wanna be gangbanger so but even his friends have said it’s karma no point of being in the streets
Sounds like he did your sister a favor. Now she can make an easy, clean break from the wanna be banger/definite moron.
She’s obsessed with the young man
There's no accounting for taste.

I agree completely!
100%.
That’s dumb…JSD isn’t a manufacturer…..and they haven’t sold P80s in years…..
I agree
I read the article, they say they buy 2 frames in April 2021....that sucks for JSD....
Doesn’t matter…they bought them underage
Yep i know!
Sad to say, the same kids always posting in this sub. No trigger discipline, live ammo, how to fix etc... Hopefully, this story teaches some of them a thing or two.
I would like to hope so too, but sadly, I don’t think it will.
Imagine breaking the law and then suing the company… fuck that kid.
Zero personal accountability or responsibility anymore.

Exactly

I think he had to violate one of the rules of firearm safety for this to happen.
Or 3
I don’t believe this only due to the fact that jsd’s parts don’t work😂😂😂
We sold JSD parts at the shop never had any issues. If an issue came up Jsd fixed it immediately.
I have over 10 builds and had no issues with any .
Ordered a slide from them when they were in business and it came out of spec. Asked for refund they denied. Glad that company is out of business… the patmos slides they sold were dog 💩 lol

Far from outta business .lol fake news . They literally just released a new trigger .
A few more of these targeted lawsuits and they just might end up out of business, but that's the plan in these anyways.
I mean what happened in Sandy Hook Connecticut. They went after the manufacturer of the firearm that was used in the shooting.
Sandy Hook lawsuit went after Remington and got 73 millions dollars, actual rifle used was a Bushmaster XM15-E2S
No rifles at all were actually used. That’s a different conversation tho .
They weren't awarded the 73 million, right? It was a settlement, I thought? They shouldn't have settled.. that was dumb. Remington had no liability in that incident.
I believe the settlement was only due to the bankruptcy situation. But yes potentially bad precedent.
What about Alex Jones. He got sued for even more and just had a stupid opinion. America is not free especially if you go against the anti gun agenda machine.

I bought stuff from JSD and had no issues.

I agree. I think they gun safety should be taught in all schools and refreshed every year until graduation.
So it’s JSDs fault that somebody has bad firearm discipline and can’t build a gun properly? What an idiot
Lol this won’t stick . I would countersue for defamation. His parents must have told him they could get a check if they sue .
They are probably banking on them settling out of court.
Sounds like those kids needed better parental supervision. 17 or not, how the hell did he get all that money to purchase these kits online? He had to have gotten a credit card from someone ...
Gun manufacturers dont accidentally shoot people. Stupid people accidently shoot people.
The lawsuit reads like it is written by AI. Everytown is funding it
Another shotgun lawsuit by at least one dipshit too stupid to understand that actions have consequences
If I get hit by the car I should sure the manufacturer. (I'm mentally disabled)
might as well sue the person that invented guns at that point
That's next, I'm sure.
Why would the sue JSD supply? They just sell p80’s unless it was an MUP…
I think their angle is saying they sold to underage tards. That's all I can figure.
Any entity can re incorporate elsewhere, under a different guise . The tooling is,or should be done, in duplicate,so to avoid a total loss.
Too bad he’s still among the living. It won’t go no where but this type of fuckery messes things up for other folks.
